Good win last night. BH did what it needed to do against a struggling opponent. The rain was not too bad. It was light in the 2nd quarter and pretty much ended when halftime was over. Games count next week.

I don't give a flip about Trinity, and didn't even know they had a new coach, but you can't judge anyone after two games. Two years is a better evaluation.

To answer the question directly, it depends on what the motive was. The original premise stated was "he went to EC to get out of BISD academics". If that's so, then the viable choice just for "academics" would clearly been HF, because its closer, actually adjacent to Beaumont. Not as far to drive. Now, was the young man an academician seeking higher learning, or was he a stud (but quite small) running back that could not start in 5A or 6A, and wanted to play and excel in a smaller class like 3A?

The word I got (and this was "third hand" info from my Tark friend, nothing more) is that he was super talented but too small to play Beaumont 5A or 6A ball, so instead wanted to star on a smaller 3A team. I hear you about the sorry BISD academics but there were closer districts. He literally had to drive though very viable Hamshire Fannett every day to get to Winnie. It was totally for football.

A lot of the EC hype dissipated when the Beaumont kids who drove in daily to play for them left. Discussion should be limited because it causes some here to become triggered, so thats all I will say, but you are correct.

I get your point but there are a number of HISD schools that would also have difficulty with 4A's. Actually I think Cleveland would stomp several of the HISD's.

I am not surprised. I tried to tell some influential (SB) folks that bringing in a coach would NOT morph BH into Allen. It sure didn't. Although I was hopeful for PNG I thought the same here, but its way, WAY early. Give him a chance.

This is the premier game this week.

Really going to miss our QB but life goes on. Kids have to suit up and step in and go to work! I still like our district it ought to be a fun year.

Thanks JimAdler, I think I just got my answer. I know it pains folks to admit it but honestly you take that one kid (that apparently did not live there) off those teams and they go nowhere. Likely 1st round exits. Wasn't he something like 60-70% of their offense? That kid ran wild through that district. Then the playoffs happened.
