CARL ABSECK NAMED NEW AD/HFC AT BARBERS HILL

Nothing to expand on, really. The hire looks clinically perfect, BH perhaps found the best candidate, period. Love the outsider element of it. Seems nothing influenced any decision except for the inherent merits of the candidate. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply anything or make waves, that was not my intent. Just impressed with the hire, thats all. Good luck BH! -

The more I look at Abseck, the more impressed I am. Also want to say great job by BH for reaching to the outside to find a great candidate, and not making a good old boy, nepotism type hire. With all the growth in place, I think the Eagles can do very well in the years ahead. -

No, I am not going to write anything down. There are numerous examples of State Champs who probably thought they would never win it. Besides that, why discourage anyone? What do you get out of doing that? -

I think so. BH is probably not going to win State this year, regardless who comes when. Having a somewhat late hire "might" cost a team game or two during the season (or not), but the most important thing is getting the right candidate for long term success. Right candidates are really hard to come by, so any temporary inconvenience for this season is worth it. Hire the right guy when you can, whenever it might be. -

"Plus"? Thats totally a one up. You want facts? Barbers Hill's Dual State Championships were not even 12 hrs old and you are on a SETX baseball forum talking Aledo football. With a "smirk face". -

Dang. BH fans can’t even celebrate a huge accomplishment for 24 hrs before someone comes on here trying to “one up” them. -

That is it exactly. We had a long discussion and that’s what I said. BH runner plated LONG before Hallsville threw the ball to 2nd. The run had scored, then well after that the 3rd out was called. There was no force, 1st base was empty. The Upm team did get it right. I am glad they talked it out. -

Lots of 5A and 6A programs with turf fields and other amenities not wining State this year or anytime soon. Pretty much common now. -

New pitcher, finally. Their starter had right at 100 pitches. -

A fan is tracking it. She tells me he is at 74. 110 is the UIL limit. -

Anyone tracking the Hallsville pitch count? -

Looks like a tough draw for BH, but you would expect that in the finals. Hallsville will pitch ace Landon Bowden, a super Soph already committed to TCU. He is a strikeout king with a miniscule 1.14 ERA. -

I hope BH makes the right choice, not necessarily the fast choice. Its worth waiting to get the right one. -

BH vs. Hallsville for the finals. Incidentally, Hallsville was the team the BH beat in the semis last week before they won it all. Hallsville has some great fans. Very polite and classy. This game should be great. -
LAINE SAMBROOKS NAMED NEW HFC AT SPLENDORA
Separation Scientist replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in High School Football
Thats right, and along with the facilities, the best thing they have is growth. The whole 59 corridor is exploding. Of course it is a challenge getting a late start with a June hire, but keep in mind it is a one time thing, so the effect is transitory. Splendora was not going to win state this year anyway. -

You are not supposed to say that. Take cover! (But you are totally correct, LOL) -
As I said earlier the ranking are what they are, but after later watching 6A Deer Park -Judson on NFHS, one thing I am highly confident of is that Barbers Hill is THE best team in the state of Texas. With that in mind, if BH is clearly the best in Texas, its very plausible that the Lady Eagles are indeed the best in the nation!
