I played against J'Covan in summer ball and remember he would put up 30+ points without breaking a sweat - most effortless (in a good way) offensive player I've ever seen at the hs level. He was born to get buckets. -

Yes that is very interesting. Was Coach Smith already on Silbee's coaching staff before he got the head job or was he an outsider? -
Bingo on all of these - I would only add that the O-line needs to be bolstered, which is kind of implied in your 3rd point. This team has enough talent to win a couple playoff games, but they are just an undisciplined mess and that starts with head coach.

I just don't buy the line that WOS' best athletes will flock to LCM if Toby isn't hired. Sure, WOS kids have transferred to LCM for various reasons for as long as I can remember, but its usually just marginal talent that couldn't cut it at WOS. I've lived in LC most of my life, but have had numerous friends and family members graduate from WOS, and there is WAY too much pride in the WOS football program for it to crumble like a lot of people are predicting if Hickman is hired . FYI I think Toby is the no-brainer choice for the program moving forward. -
I'm sorry I wasn't clear there, I was asking about your bets for the game lol

Aggies what was your play(s) for the game? I was feeling decent about my Bama +2.5 money until that pick-6 at the end.

Mt. Vernon also never made it to State while Briles was at the helm, so that coaching hire was a failure according to Reagan's metrics. -

It’s been like that as long as I can remember on these state championship broadcasts. The pregame, halftime, and postgame shows always make it seem like the DFW teams are God’s gift to earth. I especially can’t stand the old coach in the cowboy hat. -

I can second this. My girlfriend taught at the WOS elementary campus and left after the 2020-2021 school year. She left because she didn't like how the previous principal was running (or not running) the school, but her friends that still teach there this year say things are way worse with the new principal. FWIW they all like the superintendent. -
He was definitely a nice guy. He was just full of hot air and had no idea how to coach a football team or lead an athletic department. FYI I only played basketball and baseball at LCM, but I had several buddies on the football team and heard countless horror stories from them. Enough negativity - I am now a homeowner in the district and am floored at how quickly Peevey has turned things around here. I've never seen anything close to the amount of school spirit thats been exhibited these past few months. Its truly incredible.

I attended LCM for the first 3 Moody years and no student, coach, or teacher took that man seriously lol
