Thanks for this info, I was wondering what the process for clearing teachers to carry was like. I’m guessing the school district doesn’t pay for the firearm or the training, since most school districts make teachers pay for almost everything else job-related out of pocket?

Interesting. Hopefully the DPS disciplines Sgt. Estrada for "confirming" those false reports. I've seen plenty of law enforcement spokesmen say things like "we will not comment on the specifics of today's events until our investigation is concluded" at press conferences that follow shootings, etc. Why do you think that wasn't the case in Uvalde?

Totally understand your points and appreciate your real world examples/service. Sgt. Estrada with the DPS said the shooter was “engaged” by law enforcement outside of the school. Once again, I’m not well versed in the technicalities of this stuff, so there’s a good chance that “engaged” doesn’t mean what I think it means in this sense.
