Lcm should win… lots of talent and a great coach but something isn’t clicking over there right now. Wish ghost would have stayed at Lcm. Would have been fun to watch

Big game tonight for Lcm!! Nobody wants that 4 seed in this district going into the playoffs.

Any predictions? I got Jasper by 7…. Looking like Lcm peaked too early.

Lumberton and PNG hired good coaches, but I'd say the success is mostly because they both have really good groups of kids right now. Players win games. Parents blame coaches when the players aren't talented enough to win. Nederland's good ole boy was a genius when he went for two to beat PNG and then the guy almost beats a state finalist team this year. But he doesn't know what he's doing? That's crap. Barrow is a really good coach with a young group that wasn't especially talented in a tough district.

Who is better?

I'd bet the records between PNMS and GMS are heavily in favor of PN. Nederland people are babies. One or two bad years out of 20 and suddenly the coaches and school board has always sucked. Yall should have gotten to state in 2000 and possibly 2001. Matched up with good teams and got beat. Could be much worse...look at us poor Cardinals. And...no chance PNG gets to state this year had they not done this bush league split of the divisions.

The Ghost is already being highly recruited. On a side note, does EC still have the assistant that stands on the chairs and pumps up the crowd?

I am going to this one. I got the Bobcats in an upset (not really an upset) on the road. They have the best guard in the district, the best freshman of all time (The Ghost), and a new assistant that has really changed how the Bobcats defend.

Silsbee finally scores 100 in this one.

I heard Mitchell and Davis were going to play 1v1 to settle this. Winner is an elite coach and loser is an underachieving hack. I got Mitchell...big!

It will be hard to replace Morris and Washington. But the Bears will be disciplined. I heard a story that Peevey took the team out to eat before a game, blew his whistle in the restaurant full of patrons, and yelled EYES to get his kids attention. The person who told me the story said every kid on the team rolled their eyes. Well oiled machine!

I think I'm counting out Buna. Only six wins on the year. One of which is a jv team and the other is a watered down alumni team. Now a loss to Bridge City.

I think it takes a little while to get basketball legs coming out of football. But yea full strength at the end of the year, I think Silsbee is better than west brook and Pam. It's about time for a setxsports rankings thread though.

Lots of doubt from the Silsbee contingency. Is there something to this or are we seeing lots of sandbagging? I don't think these guys lose to anyone around here not named BU.

I am guessing Peabody, Zachary, and Madison Prep are all pretty good. This is a neat idea.

Anyone at this game? Is Anahuac for real? I had them pegged for third in their district, but maybe they can challenge East Chambers and Orangefield for the top.

Why did Buna drop their game with Evadale if they didn't play last night? Seems like that should be a pretty good rivalry.

I don't need to be beating some old man at 1v1! He coaches all out, all the time. He never changes if his team is really good or really bad. That's why he's a good coach. He doesn't leave when he thinks we won't be good. He just continues to build his program.

Don't worry about us! The Mighty Raiders are coming off a district title in football and we have a proven leader on the hardwood. Mitchell will get us where we need to be. Best of luck to your Cougars and their run through the playoffs!

Orangefield was missing their best post and the other one hurt his ankle in the tournament this weekend. If Buna can't win this game against a half strength Orangefield squad, they could be in trouble. Maybe Coach Whitmeyer wasn't so bad after all?

Peevey fan boys really excited for Lumberton to lose! I predict Lumberton will whip lcm again in 2023 and lcm will have a worse record than this year.
