  1. yes it was! the series went 8-6, Jasper. 8-6 Bridge City 2-1 Jasper. Then our DAWGS went on to shine in the State Tourney.
  2. I know that's right! my U of H son keeps calling to make sure I am seeing the Cougs. He loves them winning so far. it's halftime.
  3. yes sir he did graduate in 2003 but the football season was fall of 2002.
  4. Terrance Brown I imagine is related to Ronald Brown(another one of yall's stud rbs. played early to mid '90s) ??
  5. to be completely honest I specifically searched for him because without a doubt when most folks think of 80s Jasper football he for good reason comes to mind. I am yet to find anything on him. So please anyone that has info. please share. you spoke of Montavien in 2018. as we know his ankle was injured in last game of regular season against Center. We played in 3 playoffs games without him. He had 1523 yards in 9 and half games(he didn’t play second half against Center). 1523 was done on only 116 carries 19 tds. Very little if any that season did he play past a possession or two into the 3rd quarter (cause we usually were ahead and some young backs Coach got them playing time). So yes sir had he played entire games then the 3 playoffs it would have interesting to see his totals.
  6. @Bulldogs92 @jdog90 @chefkland76 I meant to tag you guys in first post.
  7. Jasper Bulldogs (2011)Karrion Morrisey 2092 235-22 (1994)Terrance Currington 2068 Xxx-28 *worth noting that Jonathan Limbrick had 1273yds Xxx-10 in 1994 also. the DAWGS were ground and pounding that year for sure! (2001)Jason McQueen 1788 270-21 (2020)Carl Limbrick 1778 186-23 (1995)Sheldon Grant 1760 Xxx-xx I gotta say, while compiling this list I was truly shocked Chris Hunt was not even in top 10. His physical presence alone (a man among boys if you will) was something else. Then mix in his natural skill set! WOW! That said in 1986 (his Jr season) he had 1237 yards. I would wagered alot thinking he had more. I couldn't find anything on his Senior season, but if I remember correctly his ego and/ or grades took him out for the '87 season.
  8. I apologize fellow DAWGS fans, and to whoever else took note of this list I posted. Rather than take my time and make sure I posted correctly, I used the historical section at smoaky as a quick reference. (figures uh?). Below you will see a "mo' better" list. It's only the top 5 but if you guys are interested I do have quite a few more.
  9. 3A 1960-1980 2A prior to that Jasper was.
  10. I am glad you are familiar with texashighschoolhistory and confidence in it. that said, (I am using the following example because it's as close to a side by side comparison) go to the site, click on individual stats 21-1979. go to 1971, and you will the #4 rusher in 4A was Jeff Bergeron of PNG with 1550 yards. then when you look at the 3A top rushers, M.T. Hicks of Jasper close to the bottom of list with 1028 yards.
  11. no need to (though that is a regular source). you can go right here on this site to teams history and he has their classification for each season to season on the teams page. AND for sure don't need to look at anything to know your wrong about Jasper being 4A til 2004. Dude the best 3 year stretch in program history for Jasper and you acting like I don't know what class we played in. I just imagined that Jasper played Gilmer in 2004 3ADII title game in Nacogdoches. final score 49 -47 Gilmer won. the two losses to Jordan Shipley's Burnet teams in 3A semis of 2002 & 2003 were imagined in my mind also. anywho...
  12. as a matter of fact Jasper went undefeated in the regular season in 1980 (their first year in 4A), and didn't make playoffs. Sounds crazy uh? 8-0-2 tied with Beaumont Hebert 10-10 (Hebert got the win because of penetrations) Tied with Huntsille 15-15. Huntsville beat Hebert 16-8 in first round of playoffs on their way to a state title.
  13. 2 semi finals (2002,2003) 1 finals appearance (2004) for Jasper. All in 3A. Jasper did lose to png in 2004.
  14. I hope you like kettle corn.🍿
  15. I bout to make some. you need to come by and look at some of the stats the DAWGS had during 3A play up til the 70s.😜
  16. During the 70s PNG was 4A(the highest classification at the time ). While Jasper was indeed still a 3A school. Anyone want to bet? I will bet my house.
  17. the very things that peaked my interest. lol. my son graduated last year and he is home this week because University of Houston is on spring break. my wife and I were talking bout this a couple days ago, when my son comes around the corner and says "we'll I only go 2 days a week." Smartass! I thought to myself about him.(one of the reasons I love him so much & he does have like 6 or 7 classes in those 2 days) Just so happens they all are Tuesdays and Thursdays this semester.
  18. I was just curious if any other schools in the area are doing this also. [Hidden Content]
  19. as I thought we had been doing(moving on). being excited about the future.. as long as the peanut gallery exist there will those who come along wanting/being Karen of sorts. any kinda shade they can get going CAUSE they hate the fact that Jasper was able to make the best hire this off-season for sure in this part of the state(best fit for their program. GOTTA LOVE IT!! GO DAWGS!
  20. even more so if they just make use of 89Falcon Consultant Services.
  21. oh! so a person has to walk the sideline to have any knowledge and/or understand the game? well, you are Peppermnt Patty of the Peanut Gang.
  22. Come on now @Bulldogs92 ! while I agree with and we talked about during the whole season the things you mention. LCM wasn't the only game(and yes they had a helluva season and their play off run was proof they were good) you know you thought the same about the "offensive" game planning or lack thereof lead to play calling that was as vanilla and generic as what we started learning in 7th football.
  23. Son, listen. I made a point in my post to say " so it appeared that way" and when other teams fans say the same thing and they feel sorry for our guys on offense. that is F- ING sad. When it comes down to it in my life I went Jasper schools , played football as a proud DAWG, become an Alum, booster, season ticket holder and a tax payer. So do I feel entitled to say how I feel or what I think about the program. OF COURSE I DO! my fellow Jasper fans and posters here at this site are not as rough around the edges as I am, whether they ever publicly agree with my posts they know there is alot of truth to them. They also know I (you may not think) was a supporter of Darell Barbay 96% of the time.Their(fellow Jasper fans and posters) opinions and thoughts are the only ones that matter to me. Honestly, outsiders like yourself inputs or opinions are about as useful as a knitted condom. you have the freedom to express them all you want(GOD BLESS THE USA ). Before you gather up your clarity, charity, chastity and any other personal items and toodle on out of here I want to ask a favor. Can I use the things you said about my coaching expertise and you as a personal reference? Beaumont United is open and I intend on throwing my hat in the ring. why not? they hired Graham after he had been off for a year that was preceded by 3 straight 0-10 seasons. T I A (thanks in advance).
