  1. If anyones interested
  2. In case anyone is interested, it was Newton's JV 45 Kirbyville JV 12 in tonights game
  3. If you notice we don't submit very often to these forums, we let our boys do the talking on the field. Goodluck Kat's, you'll need it! :)
  4. Haselwood is a really good Quarterback and will produce excitement in every game. His parents were good atheletes also. Knew them when they both coached in Newton. very fine people.
  5. WOW! Kirbyville fans are touchy... I really don't like to get involved in all this talk, but I couldn't resist. I want to welcome K'Ville back to the 2a Ranks, it's always nice to have the competition especially for a team who has been to the playoffs in all classifications, 1A, 2A and 3A. With respect to Shelbyville, A town who doesn't have a Jenny's Chicken, these boy's have been thrown into a very tuff disrict for a town of it's size and although I didn't witness the game, I'm sure these boys gave it their all, and just because they did a little dance at mid-field, why get so upset. I'm sure your team has never done anything like this before. I'm not sure about running the score up, because I wasn't there, but sometimes it can't be prevented no matter what the coach does. And to the fan who say's nobody is looking forward to playing them ;D, While there are still other teams to play and they must dealt with 1 at a time, I'm sure you can find at least 1 team eagerly awaiting the chance.
  6. If the Hawks maintain the determination and drive i saw against Newton, others better be aware!
  7. OUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU
  8. I'm glad Coach Barbay took HJ seriously (words from him at the Quarterback meeting), while it appears others don't give them the credit they deserve. Your offense made some great plays and kept Newton fans on the edge of their seats until that final moment. It seems like you just couldn't get those breaks on the field that decide so many games. Keep up the good work and continue to surprise those who don't recognize your talent. Good Luck!
  9. While the polls show Kville with a slight lead (and that's understandable with their record). I think this election will not be decided until that final meeting of the 2 candidates. I hope there are no controversies, such as CHUMS or ZEBRAS and they both show sportsmanship and respect to each other regardless of who wins.
  10. As a long time supporter of all Newton sports and the father of a current player, I do take offense to the the comments being made by some about our fans, players and coach. I am personally glad that Coach Barbay is still here in Newton and my son has had the chance to play under him. Under Barbay I have seen him develope as a player and a good student both of which I am proud of, wether they are winning or losing on the field. As for the fans, when you visit our side you will see Generations of families from a young age to the 80's, all supporting the Eagles. Curtis Barbay may appear brazen to some, but I appreciate his honesty, his caring for the kids and most of all his ability to take the kids he gets each year and develope them into winners a trait which is shared by only a few, year after year. In closing I would like to say, take your hate of Newton and direct it in a positive way and find a way to beat us on the field and I promise you we won't hate you afterwards. 8)
  11. > Newton will be coming to win!
  12. While I agree you should not teach kids that officials create a loss, I also think that kids who give 100% DESERVE fairness in their efforts. The game in Diboll last night was certainly an example of extremely poor officiating, for both teams, and it was obvious that Newton was the target of the officials wrath. Although Newton suffered a loss on the scoreboard, the team and coaching staff, showed everyone that they can overcome a less than fair situation and will certainly be a team to contend with in the futrure. my hat's off to them. :'(
  13. Newton coach-- Curtis Barbay
