I do not understand why Holland throws a 3rd straight, 1-2 fastball over the plate when facing cabrera. How aobut throwing it off the plate or maybe mixing in something off spead? So dang frustrating!!! Bad guys up 1-0, middle of 1st.
-
Well, here we go boys. The RANGERS need to finish the series tonight!!! Hopefully Holland will have the best game of his career.
-
By far the biggest game of Holland's career.

I doubt the game will be moved. The field probably won't look bad until this weekend when the diesel has time to take full affect.
Game 7 scares me because anything can happen.... Plus, Detroit really has something with Doug Fister, and I don't want to see him again.... Hopefully Derek Holland can throw one of his patented shutouts on Saturday night and the Rangers can get some rest before we see St. Louis or Milwaukee next Wednesday night....
I agree. If the RANGERS have to face Doug Fister again it could be trouble. Here's the thing with Fister, he throws a sinker or a sinking fastball. Most of his pitches are down in the zone and have some type of sinking action which leads to ground balls. When he's on, he's very tough to beat. I've seen the RANGERS beat him all over the ballpark when he's off but I have also seen him tame the TEXAS offense when he's on. Hopefully Holland and the boys can prevent a game 7 from happening!!! Here's my prediction: If the RANGERS can find a way to beat the tigers and get to the World Series, THEY WILL BE World SERIES CHAMPS.

Very nervous about the fact that the RANGERS didn't finish the series yesterday. The tigers scare me and it seems like they have had the RANGERS number the last few seasons. TEXAS really needs to win game 6. I do not want it to go to game 7!!!

Won't be able to watch the game today because of work. If anyone gets to watch please post updates.

I've just never liked the cardinals. I couldn't stand McSteriod when he was a player and I can't stand him now as a hitting coach. They play in st. louis where budweiser is brewed and I'm not a bud fan. The only thing that I liked that came out of a cardinals uniform was Ozzie Smith. So hopefully the brewers can come back and win this series.
-
I sure hope you're right. I haven't had a good feeling since I found out that the RANGERS were going to play the tigers. Would love to get this series over as soon as possible but it will be tough today against verlander.

Which state has the best high school talent?
Ty Cobb replied to BADSANTA's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Just listen to college coaches when they talk about recruiting. They will all say that you better recruit the state of TEXAS. Everyone in the SEC is excited about Texas A&M joining the conference because it gives them a better chance at recruiting TEXAS athletes. If you want to win and I mean win big, you better recruit TEXAS!!! -
I have to go with the Silsbee Tigers uniforms. They remind me of home.
The Rangers prove again tonite, that they have the BEST line up in baseball!.....Rangers All The Way!!!
Yes they do. What I really like about the line-up in that it isn't built on power alone. We know the RANGERS can hit but everyone in this line-up can do the little things as well. They bunt when needed, they hit behind runners when needed and they run the bases as well as any team in baseball. On top of that, it's not just the every day starters. They have bench players that can step in and the team doesn't lose anything. The line-up is very versatile. I bet Ron Washington smiles every day that he wakes up and fills out his line-up card. 1. Ian Kinsler (2B)-speed and power. 30-30 guy this season. 2. Elvis Andrus (SS)-speed 3. Josh Hamilton (LF/CF)-pure hitter with power to all fields. 4. Michael Young (DH/U)-one of the best hitters in the game. Struggling this post season. 5. Adrian Beltre (3B)-POWER 6. Mike Napoli (C/DH)-May be the best hitter since the all-star break. 7. Nelson Cruz (OF)-POWER, having one heck of a post season. 8. Yorvit Torealba (C/DH)comes up with big hits in big moments. 9. David Murphy (OF)-the guy no one thinks about. Went 3 for 4 last night.

I'm not sure because I don't really now too much about either team. They are both good baseball teams and are obviously playing well right now since they are in the NLCS. The middle of the cardinals line-up can be scary with pujols, holliday, and berkman. The brewers have braun and fielder. I don't know who has the better pitching staff but would lean towards milwaukee. Personally, I hope the RANGERS make the World Series and play the beer makers but I don't know how they will match-up with them.

BALLGAME!!! The RANGERS win 7-3 and take a 3 games to 1 lead. MVP of the game has to go to Nelson Cruz!!!
-
Can you find a picture of Nellie Cruz's HR swing?
-
Middle of 11th, TEXAS 7 detroit 3. Should be Feliz time!!!
-
The RANGERS score in the 11th on a rbi single by Napoli then Nelson Cruz hits a 3 run HR to put TEXAS up 7-3.

Just don't go trick-or-treating in Chicago. ;) -
So game 4 goes to extras. Come on RANGERS, find a way baby!!!

Blah is right. I have never liked the cardinals so I don't want to see them win this series but I'm not a brewer fan either. I have, however, been to Miller Park and loved it. I guess that's enough to make me pull for milwaukee in this sereis.
-
What a big time throw by Nelson Cruz. Would love to see him hit one out of the park now, for the game winner.
-
You are right about that. Good hitters get paid to hit mistakes. This series has two of the best hitters in the game. Cabrera and Michael Young. I just wish it was cabrera, instead of Michael, that was struggling at the plate right now.
-
The Rangers made a mistake there pitching to Cabrera instead of the injured Martinez on deck. 2-1 Tigers after 5
I disagree. The mistake was made by Colby Lewis. Lewis had an 0-2 count on cabrera and threw a pitch that caught too much of the plate, allowing cabrera to get his bat on the ball and punch it into right field. In that scenario, throw a breaking ball down and away or a fast ball off the plate to get the hitter to chase a bad pitch.
