1. My all-time favorite baseball player.  Junior was everything that was right about baseball.  He played the game the way it was meant to be played--full speed all the time.  I've been lucky enough to see him play live over a dozen times.  Fans will miss his hustle, his smile, and the sweetest swing ever!!!  Simply known as "Junior" or "The Kid", he's the guy that made baseball traditionalist crazy because he wore his cap backwards.  I for one would love to see that backwards cap a few more times!!! Milton Bradley, Griffey's teammate for only a few months, turned to Mike Sweeney during batting practice and said, "on a day like this, it should rain in Seattle." Well, it is indeed raining in Seattle, maybe not from the clouds but from many people's eyes.
2. I have to take the Bobcats in 2.  They are just two powerful for the mustangs.
3. I don't think there's a rule against them.  Jasper had those dang thunder sticks a few years ago.  They never stopped banging 'em.  Bout drove me nuts!!!
4. I didn't see what happened and I really don't care, but how common knowledge are these "unwritten rules?"  The only reason that I ask is because Mark McLemore, former RANGERS second baseman, was on with Tom Grieve last night and said that he had never heard of this rule and that he ran across the diamond many times throughout his career.  Tom Grieve agreed with him, but both also agreed that they never ran over the dirt of the mound. Again, I didn't see what A-Rod did and I'm not saying to heck with these "unwritten rules", just wondering how long this particular one has been around and how many people follow this one.
5.
Not sure what the reasoning was behind the decision. As some one who played for 3 coaches in 4 years, Trawhan being one of them, he was the only one that was committed to the program. I wish he would have been there my 4 years. The others were just there. Some people should be careful of what they wish for because coahing can only get you so far. The players have to play the game. He can't hit for them, he can't pitch for them, and he can't field for them. Some people may think his techniques are wrong or he yells to much, but at some point the players and parents have to get out of the little league mentality, suck it up and play. Hope the next coach you guys get cares and produces the way he did. I wish the best for coach and I know if I was looking for a coach he would definately get my call. Silsbee will not be better off without him!
Very well said BearKats30!!!
6.
very easy to make all of the above comments when you are on the outside looking in
Does this mean that you're on the inside?  If any of the above mentioned comments are false then please let us know.
7. Silsbee just lost one hell of a baseball coach.  Coach Trawhon did a wonderful job turning that program around and brought respect to Silsbee baseball.  Here are just a few of his accomplishments: 2006 District championship Coach of the year #5 state ranked team in 3A   Snapped Bridge City's district winning streak. 100 wins in a little over 6 seasons. at least 4 of his players went on to play college baseball. (Brandon Chambers, Rocky Calhoun, Joel Schooling, Blake Moss) Raised enough money to make the following improvements to the baseball field: Covered batting facility Built a bullpen Brick wall behind home plate Metal fence in the outfield Rebuilt the home dugout New scoreboard Planter boxes and palm trees One of the nicest playing surfaces in the area. Silsbee baseball will miss Coach Trawhon!!!
8. Bridge City, and it won't be close.
9. Got any updates on Blake and his injury?  How did the playoffs go?
10. Speed kills and it did in this fight.  Mayweather was just too fast for Mosley.  I didn't realize there would be that much of a difference in hand speed between these two fighters.  Mayweather dominated rounds 3-12.  The fight couldn't end fast enough for Mosley!!!
11.
now 5-3, should be 7-1 if not for two blown saves by francisco.  they've got a tough schedule coming up.  they finish with cleveland tmorrow, then have 3 @ the yankees, 3 @ the red sox, and then three @ home against the tigers.  if they can go 4-5 over that span, i'll be happy.  anything better than that is a bonus.
That's a horrible 9 game stretch to go through.  The yankees and red sox are contenders every year and the RANGERS couldn't beat the tigers last year to save their lives.  Anywhere around .500 would be awesome for this part of the schedule.
12.

Someone explain what happened in this game.  All that has been said is that a player was talking trash.  Trash talk goes on in every sport on almost every level.  I don't see a problem with it.  Some of the best athletes in sports were also some of the best trash talkers.  See Michael Jordan vs the Knicks or Reggie Miller vs the Knicks.
Everyone picks on the Knicks! That doesn't mean you're a man! The Knicks are wussies!
Well there's the pot calling the kettle black.  You are the one who brought up trash talking in this thread and here you go talking trash yourself.  Leave the poor knicks alone, they didn't do anything to you.  Now, how about answering the question at hand, what happened in this game?

14. Going to say the Tigers win a close game.  Silsbee by 2.
15.
Pitch count depends on the kid and how in shape he is. Pitching has a lot to do with the legs, abs and back which most parents are unaware of.  I relied on my legs and not my arm. Good weight traing and conditioning allows kids to throw more pitches. everyday long toss if they can get their arms into that kinda shape because that adds velocity and longevity.
Good write up.  These are the points that I wish everyone, especially players, would get through their heads.
16. BC will win.  They are the best team in this district!!!
17. Great job RANGERS!!!  That's the way to open the season.
18. Where's Sting and Hulk Hogan?
19. Blake is catching?  I know he can play 2nd and 3rd but didn't know he was a catcher.  Good to see Blake doing well.
20. Going with the Bobcats in this game.
21. Yes, it is one of the worst sport pages that I have ever seen.
22. I have to go with Crosby in this one.
23. I'll take BC over HF and Orangefield over WOS.
24. I think the edge goes to Kirbyville if Jones is pitching.  Kirbyville 4-2 with Jones on the mound.
