The Pirates are a good team for 2A not sure if HF is that good for a 3A. I can assure you that Hamshire-Fannett is a quality 3A team. They are one of the best hitting teams in the area.

For the last time, spiking an infielder is not against the rules. (Espically back in the time when Cobb played) Spiking an infielder, to break up a play, is just like hitting a batter after your batter has been hit. It's just part of the game. Has the game changed? Of course, it has changed. The hitters now days get mad if the ball is 2 inches inside and I'm sure a runner would be thrown out of a game if they went in spikes high like Cobb did. The difference is, it was not against the rules when Cobb played. Manny knew the rules and cheated anyway. How many stolen bases would Cobb have if he didn't slide this way? I have no clue. How many homeruns, no, how many hits would Manny have if he didn't cheat?

Not at all. That's called "spiking". Middle infielder's get spiked all the time. Spiking is not banned from the game. What Manny did is against the rules of the game. He's a cheater.

If you look over the left field wall and a little to the left you will see the airport. The runway runs along centerfield. Takeoffs and landings by the crop-dusters make the game a little more interesting. Gotta love Airport park with the Maroon wall!!!

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning on the way to work and they brought up the fact that the punishment isn't serve enough. They talked about a punishment similar to that of track and field and the olympics. If you are caught then all records are stripped and you are banned for 2 years. Should this be done in baseball?

The boys took it on the chin yesterday against oakland, 9-4. Not a good outing for the pitching staff. I knew the RANGERS traded away Young, Gallaraga, Volquez, and Gonzalez but had no clue that they also had and traded Carlos Pena. When did this happen? I'm still think the Volquez for Hambone trade was a catch 22. Sure the RANGERS received a power hitting CF, but they sure could use the pitching that they lost in Volquez.

Man these guys are fun to watch!!! There line-up is very dangerous and can explode at any time. (ask the Mariners) I know this sounds crazy but the pitching staff is actually keeping them in games and giving them a chance to win. Millwood and Padilla looked like All-Stars in each of their last outings. If you haven't caught the RANGERS bug yet, go ahead and jump on the band wagon. You won't be disappointed.

This will not be a close game. BC will win by 5 or 6. They are the better team.

Everyone in the Golden Triangle should play Thursday night. The 21-3A district track meet has been moved up due to bad weather coming in. Wouldn't it make sense to play the baseball games a day early. If not, there will be three district games next week for 21-3A. That can only hurt teams chances in a close playoff race as pitching will be run very thin.
