  1. Actually there were quite a few players from BC that earned district recognition. And for the rest of your comment, who were you refering to when you made the statement, "losers in joint voting authority"?
  2. Nice win Jasper. Good luck in round 2!!! 21-3A will be rooting for you.
  3. Congrats to the entire HJ team. Finish 'em off tomorrow!!!
  4. Do you know if there is any way we can get stats on all of the players that made the list? I think everybody would like that....Well maybe everybody... MaxPreps/FanPages......if coaches report to this site........they should. MaxPreps is one site. You can also try leaguelineup.

  11. "The basepaths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his own fault."--TY COBB Plain and simple, the slide was legal. Get out of the way or get spiked!!!

  15. HJ lost to Jasper 2-1 and to Silsbee 5-4.
  16. It was not Silsbee's ace, for some stupid reason the 3 or 4 pitcher was pitching. This is what happens when a coach does not go for the win. > Great job by Jasper. Here are Silsbee's pitching stats for the year. (According to MaxPreps.com) Wolcott pitched against Jasper. Kevin McDonald: 4-2, 2.33 ERA, 36 Innings pitched, 49 K's Brandon Wolcott: 4-3, 4.69 ERA, 31.1 Innings pitched, 48 K's Josh Skinner: 2-1, 3.81 ERA, 14.2 Innings pitched, 22 K's Jimmy Reid: 0-0, 3.11 ERA, 9 Innings pitched, 8 K's Blake Moss: 2-0, 3.36 ERA, 8.1 Innings pitched, 10 K's
  17. The worst way to lose is having the tying run in scoring position and the batter strikes out looking. You can't let this happen as a hitter. If the tying run is out there, find a way to put the ball in play. Striking out looking, espically in this situation, is like giving up.
  18. The Hawks by 3. They hit the ball very well.
  19. HF 7 K'Ville 2
  20. Another classic to add to the Hardin-Jefferson/Silsbee series. It was truly a game of neither team willing to quit. Silsbee went up by 2 in the first only to have HJ battle back and take the lead in the 5th. The Hawks added, what looked like an insurance run in the 6th, to make the score 4-2. Silsbee put up 3 runs in the top half of the 7th to retake the lead. However, HJ wouldn't quit. After a lead off fly out in the bottom of the 7th, the batter hit a shot by the diving 3rd baseman. The Silsbee leftfielder made a great throw to get the batter out going for 2. The next batter draws a 2-out walk then the Silsbee pitcher got a strikeout to end the game. Hats off to both teams for playing a great ballgame.

  22. I didn't realize that it was against UIL rules. Learned something new today.
