ALL-SETX TEAM NOMINATIONS..TEAM RELEASED LATER TODAY!

GAME OF THE YEAR "The Play In Game" Hardin-Jefferson vs Silsbee @ Vidor Aaron Treece(HJ) vs Kevin McDonald(Silsbee) The game was exciting from start to finish. The pitchers had the upperhand early on, with each team getting very few scoring chances. There were game changing plays made by both teams on defense. Hardin-Jefferson's right fileder, made a diving catch toward the foul line that saved 2 runs.(probably the play of the game) Silsbee picked a runner at second and executed the run down to perfection. One throw from 2nd to 3rd with the Silsbee 3rd baseman making a diving tag on the baserunner. Hardin-Jefferson got a runner on first with 2 outs in the 6th. The Hawk's have a hit and run on. The ball is a shot down the 3rd base line, that the diving 3rd baseman couldn't quite get to. The runner scored from first to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Silsbee load the bases in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs but a ground out to second ended the game. Hardin-Jefferson 1 Silsbee 0. I know the Hawks fans were excited and the Tigers fans disappointed, but I truly believe that everyone came away saying, "the best game I've seen." -
That's my bad. We were talking infielders. Someone asked who had the highest average in district. I thought they were talking about everyone, not just infielders.

your thoughts on roger clements going to the yankees
Ty Cobb replied to knightrider's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It was all about the money. I know you saw the break down on ESPN. It came out to something like $2,000 per minute. Who in the world would turn down a job that pays 2 G's a minute? -

21-3a MVP and All-district selections
Ty Cobb replied to BigTuna's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I don't think any one team will dominate the All-district selections. I think there will be 4 to 5 players from each of the top 4 teams and 2 to 3 players from each of the remaining schools. -
Bet you're right. Wasn't thinking about it that way.

Nederland's field is nice. It's very similar to Vidor.

What do you do when????????????????????????

I realized a long time ago that football is supreme. Why do you think I posted that the other sports are secondary? Let the softball people talk softball? This has nothing to do with softball talk. It's people griping becasue there isn't as much money in softball as it is in football. If you want to talk softball, then by all means, please do. I just get tired of hearing about how softball is done wrong. Softball isn't the only sport that is in the shadow of football. And please drop the Title IX talk. Title IX is just like well-fare, It was established to do good and has become the easy way out. Look back on the first few posts, the answer was Title IX. Only a few people said get out and work for what you want or what you need. Oh, and to Big Purple guy, I follow softball also. Heck, I've even been to the Softball College World Series. -

I guess since I chose a screen name from an all-time baseball great I should be punished. You should get me in a title IX lawsuit, maybe I would be forced to change my screen name to Jennie Finch. -

Ok, I've got one. Move to another state. 95% of the high schools in Texas revolve around football. That's the way it is. The other sports are, and always will be, secondary. It goes back to supply and demand. The schools will supply want the community demands. I've never seen a community stop down for a softball game. I'm not just talking softball either. It's the same for volleyball, baseball, track, basketball etc... Football rules in the state of TEXAS.
