    On base percentage is more important than batting avg. Avg is base hits only. On base can be by walk, error, fielders choice, etc... You have to be on base to give your team a chance to win.

    Think about how much fun it would be to watch Calhoun and Dishon in the same outfield. Talk about an outfield where basehits go to die!!! ;D

    I don't think there's a high school program in the state, much less this area, that would turn either one of these young men away. Call whichever one you want #1 and the other #2. Congrats to both on very successful high school careers.

    Let's see; you have two very good hitting teams fighting for a chance at a district championship. Location gives the Bulldogs an advantage. There's nothing like a high stakes game in Jasper. Great atmosphere!!! Stringer on the mound gives BC an advantage. I think he is one of the better pitcher's that Jasper has seen this year. Who wants it more? Who wins........ BRIDGE CITY CARDINALS

    I don't understand the ruling on this play. If there is a play at the plate, or any base for that matter, the baserunner has to slide or will be called out. If the ball is 2 feet up the line and the baseline is 100% blocked what should the runner do? He can't just stop and give himself up. By rule he has to slide. Sounds like this baserunner did the right thing.
