boston wins 5-1.  Scheppers had a good outing, giving up 2 runs, but the bullpen couldn't get it done.

I can't take credit for this list.  The DC.com writers put this list out.  They only went with  a starter and a backup.  I think the list is about as good as it can get.    Which position do you think is the strongest?    Are there any current players that can eventually take a spot on this list?

The RANGERS (2-1) travel to Tropicana Field to take on the rays (2-2).  Joe Saunders gets the start for TEXAS, Jake Odorizzi for the rays.  Game time is set for 7:10.

Yu Darvish will be coming of the DL and will get his first start of the season Sunday, April 6, against the rays.

The RANGERS score 3 in the 9th and win the game and series on a bases loaded walk. 

The RANGERS are trailing 3-0 in the top of the 4th. Starting pitching struggling again. Ross has already thrown 75 pitches and with 2 outs in the 4th. Hope the pen us better than opening day.

Tonight's rubber match is scheduled to start at 7:05.  The phillies start Kyle Kendrick and the RANGERS will send Robbie Ross to the mound. 

RANGERS win 3-2 on a RBI single by Adrian Beltre.

Game 2 of the season will have the phillies, AJ Burnett vs the RANGERS, Martin Perez.  Game time is 7:05 from Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Alex Rios hits a 3 run HR to give TEXAS the lead, 7-6.

Scheppers is having a tough time finding the zone. He's walked 3 and has given up to hits. 2-0 phillies.

Darvish threw off flatground yesterday.  He is headed to the DL for 15 days.  On a positive note, opening day of baseball is almost here.

The news gets worse as the day goes along.  Yu Darvish will miss his opening day start and may begin the season on the DL due to a back problem.  He is scheduled to see a back specialist. 

More bad news for RANGERS fans.  It looks like Yu Darvish will not be able to start opening day.  He has some stiffness in his neck and looks like his start will be pushed back a few days.  Nothing major, but damn.  Injury after injury.

It's one week away from opening day and the RANGERS are dealing with major injuries.  Catcher Geovany Soto(knee) and Second base Jurickson Profar(shoulder) will both miss 10-12 weeks with injuries.  Not a good start to the season for TEXAS.

How do these people make these picks?  There's no logic to Mercer beating Duke, much less the other upsets of the tournament.

Did anyone see this special on the NFL Network.  Great story about the OL that paved the way for the COWBOYS in the early 90's.  This group has been considered as the greatest offensive line in the history of football. Look where they came from.    Kevin Gogan-8th round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 1987.   Nate Newton-signed with the redskins in 1983 as an undrafted free agent as was cut.  Played in the USFL, then signed with the Cowboys as a free agent in 1986.   Mark Stepnoski-3rd round draft pick of the Cowboys in 1989.   Mark Tuinei-Undrafted free agent of the Cowboys in 1983 as a defensive lineman.  Stuck behind Randy White on the depth chart so he moved to offensive tackle.   Erik Williams-3rd round pick of the Cowboys in 1991 with a choice Dallas received from the Steve Walsh trade.   John Gesek-10th round pick in 1987 by the L. A. Raiders.  Traded to Dallas in 1990 for a 5th round pick.       Larry Allen came later, 1994, as a 2nd round pick.
