1. The RANGERS lost Colby Lewis for the season.  He needs elbow surgery that will take 9-12 months to rehad.  Not good for their chances of returning to the World Series.
2. As a RANGERS fan I'm a little disappointed, but congrats to Jake on the having the opportunity to play professional baseball and good luck with the Cougars!
3. He makes a few good points but I can't believe that he lives in TEXAS and is brave enough to write this column.  I'm willing to bet every coach would love to "coach" only and leave the classroom to "real" teachers but that's not the case.  Coaches coach, coaches teach, and coaches are the first ones that teachers like this guy call when they need help with discipline or other problems that happen at school.
4. Where is all of their young pitching?  I know they gave up the farm for the shot at the World Series but wasn't that in 2004?  Have they not drafted and developed any pitching since then?
5. Free agent pitcher Roy Oswalt has signed with the Texas Rangers, sources told ESPN's Karl Ravech on Tuesday. The sources said that if Oswalt is called up by July 1, he gets $8 million pro-rated -- 4 million in his pocket. He can also earn an extra $1 million in incentives if he makes 10 starts. A source told ESPNDallas.com's Richard Durrett that Oswalt could be ready to join the Rangers rotation by June 20. The deal was first reported by The Dallas Morning News. The St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers all were interested in Oswalt and made various offers, some exceeding that of the Rangers, sources told Ravech. Oswalt had given teams indications that Texas was his destination of choice. He has a close relationship with club president Nolan Ryan, and he apparently likes the thought of pitching for a contending team that's close to his Mississippi home. Oswalt, 34, has a career record of 159-93 in 11 seasons with Houston and Philadelphia. He is a three-time All-Star who has finished among the top five in National League Cy Young Award balloting five times in his career. After waiting until spring training and failing to land a job to his satisfaction, Oswalt told major league clubs in late February that he planned to wait until midseason to return. Oswalt threw for the Rangers in Mississippi on May 18 and that same night, Neftali Feliz had command problems and walked five Houston Astros and wasn't able to throw a full five innings. It was discovered shortly thereafter that he had a sprained ligament in his right elbow. He isn't likely to return to the rotation before the All-Star break. Oswalt will need a few starts in the minors to pitch to hitters and build arm strength before joining the rotation. Scott Feldman, who won 17 games as a starter in 2009 for Texas, is currently holding down Feliz's spot and will likely continue to do so until Oswalt is ready. Some Rangers players saw the news on Twitter prior to stretching for batting practice and were talking about it. "Hopefully he can get back to the form that he was previously before the back issues," setup man Mike Adams said. "If he can, he'll help us out a great deal."
6.

What is a lot of strikeouts for a batter to have in high school?? I know in select ball we didn't care all that much so long as the player was making the pitcher earn them. After all we were encouraging them to swing just as hard as they could under control.  With that you are definitely going to miss the ball at times.  But even then we never had kids with more k's than games played. We always seemed to find them help and move on. What do you guys think??
I think you should leave the coaching to someone else if that's the mentality you're teaching kids.
Amen, brother!!!
7. 1st-WOS 2nd-Liberty 3rd-HJ 4th-Anahuac WOS and Liberty qualify for the state tournament in College Station.
8. It's very simple.  Take 100 kids, middle school to high school in age, and show them a picture of the alamo dome and then a picture of COWBOYS Stadium.  Then ask which one they would rather play in.  You can do the same test with any other venue in Texas and I'm willing to bet the majority of kids would rather play where the COWBOYS play.  Sure, reliant would get a few votes because some texans fans would like to play there, but the texans don't have the following that the COWBOYS have.  The only place that could come close would be D K Royal Memorial Field in Austin.
9. It should stay at COWBOYS Stadium!!!  Kids grow up wanting, wishing and hoping to play where the COWBOYS play.  There's just something about that blue star that says, "Texas Football".  No other venue in Texas can top it.
10. Nelson Cruz just hit a grandslam to give the RANGERS a 6-2 lead.  The annoucers started talking about the TEXAS line-up.  In my opinion this is, not only, the best line-up in the league but also the best line-up ever!!!  The only true argument that I get is the reds, Big Red Machine.  I'm 35 years old so I haven't seen as much baseball as some.  Is this truly the greatest line-up ever?
11. Yes, I know what you mean.  I don't consider oakland or seattle as threats.  The angels have started slow but they have the tools to be a serious contender.  They will get hot somewhere throughout the season, I just hope the RANGERS have a big enough lead to hold them off.
12. Smart move by the Huffman coach, but it won't be enough.  I have seen both teams this season and BC has better pitching and better hitting.
13. OK, the RANGERS stop the series losing skid at 3 by taking 3 of 4 from baltimore.  Seems like they are hitting the ball well and it couldn't come at a better time with the angels coming to TEXAS!!!
14. He would not see a pitch anywhere near the zone if I had to face him again tonight.  I may even hold up 4 fingers to the umpire and see if they would allow me to intentional walk him without throwing a pitch.  ;D
15. What are the odds that they pitch to him if he comes up again?
16. You just beat me to it.  You must have made this post while I was typing mine.  Is 4 HR's in a game a record?  What about RBI in a game?
17. Josh Hamilton just hit his 4th HR of the game.  I think he has 7 RBI.  What is the record for most HR's in a single game and most RBI in a single game?
18. Going to cleveland to take on the indians.  Gotta stop the 2 series losing streak.
19. What time does game 1 start?
20. The RANGERS and the rays have split the first two games of the series.  Game 3 today.  Could this be a early look at the AL Championship series?
21.
He is going to China or somewhere over in the far east to teach school with his wife.
What?  Are you telling me Coach Brown is moving to China.  Is that China, TX or the China in Asia?
22. Man, talk about a exciting fight.  Ali would have to stay away and use his jab to keep Tyson off-balanced.  If Tyson got in close it would be over.  He had too much punching speed and power.  Wish we could see it!!!
23. Has the list of applicants been released?  Curious to see who has applied.
24. It's almost unbelievable that we are talking about the RANGERS and their pitching.
25. The RANGERS win 3-2 in 11 innings today.  Get the winning run home by the squeeze.  TEXAS takes the series 3-1.  The yankees come to town starting Monday for a 3 game series.
