  1. Wow! CENTRAL WILL LOOSE BAD
  2. That's what we thought when they played Central. Will be interesting.
  3. Offense AVG. Vidor 442.6 Livingston 416.6 PN-G 354.4 Lumberton 329.6 Central 313 LC-M 273.2 Ozen 199.4 Nederland 178.2 Defense AVG. PN-G 234.6 Vidor 272.2 Livingston 278.8 Ozen 292.2 Lumberton 298.4 Central 315.8 LC-M 328.2 Nederland 370.8
  4. Where is this weeks 20-4A stat leaders?
  5. ttt I agree about the quantity. Nederland has 4 or 5 kids that go both ways most of the time, and a few others that see some action on both sides. PN-G has 0. Therefore, we load the offense to execute the spread. A lot has to do with injuries, but some has to do with raw numbers, which has been discussed at length on the Bigned.com board.
  6. He can ensure this? What a man!
  7. As I said last week, whoever plays the best defense will win.
  8. I think he's agreeing with you about the next three weeks.
  9. I could see a possible 1-4 finish with taking the 4th playoff spot. Any thoughts?
  10. Bring it down a notch, Bru. If you are talking about the "Maybe some do" comment, it was not directed at you. I was referring to HC's that might would rather have a track meet on the football field with no defense. If it's something else, let me know. You ought to know me by now: I don't attack people's opinion unless attacked first. But you are right, it's my opinion the DC should be replaced. But, I never said fired. There's no masking here. I've been consistent with this thought through out. And one thing I never do is blame the players. I think I've stated this also before. As for the fourth quarter defense play, I would be more inclined to agree if it was the first quarter instead. By the fourth, the other team is tired and this may have caused what you are talking about. Not saying that it did, but the possibilities were there. I agree about the quantity. 11. So, you are saying the good players get placed on offense first at Nederland? Interesting!
  12. Good advise -- from an Indian. You sly dog, uh, Indian. ;D
  13. I'm thinking most teams will load the good players on defense first. Because if you can't stop anybody, you are not going to win. Unless a coach likes a track meet every game. Maybe some do. 14. Well, the original charge was that Nederland's spread offense was the reason for their defensive performance, on the down side, all these many years of the spread. Any other opinions on this theory?
  15. So, if this is the problem, then why does Neumann continue with the spread? PS - The spread doesn't seem to be effecting PN-G's #1 ranked defense. 1:1 correlation only for Nederland? Just curious.
  16. Defense, my friend, is gonna win this game. So, give some suggestions to help Ned. on defense.
  17. Why not?! It worked once. ;D That's almost the same amount that voted for our bond....Maybe we should hire the CARE campaign manager to run our voting poll....
  18. James, my friend, you are funny. ;D
  19. By these stats, it would appear that PN-G has the upper hand on Nederland. But, one never knows what might happen. :-\
  20. Yes, indeed: "Go Ye Port Arthur." One of the best!
  21. Um, no one is allowed on the field that the taxpayers paid for? Interesting. Why is that? Just to let ya'll know...NO ONE is allowed on the field after the games. I know I miss being able to go down and visit with the players after the game, but it is no longer allowed. Just thought I'd let ya'll know so you can plan accordingly with the players you know. Good luck Nederland and I hope you enjoy our new Reservation. Sending up prayers for an injury free game for both teams. Scalp 'em Indians!!
  22. I've seen this for many years at many schools. Lynch may be a good coach but coaching against other coaches that aren't so good. Then these athletes get in high school were the opposition coaches are equal to or better. So... Like I have always said: good coaches can make average athletes look great. PN-G had one at one time. You're referring to this year's sophomore classes. I'd say that Nederland's Fresh/Soph classes are two of the best they've had in a long time... maybe since Neumann has been here. The PNG Soph class is strong, the freshman class is not. Tough to predict future success based on 7th/8th grades, but based on what's happening in the 7th/8th grades, Nederland will be stronger athletically than PNG. None of this really matters. C.O. hasn't lost a game in years. This years Senior class was 9-1 as freshman with only a 1 point loss to Dayton. That included 2 beatdowns of PN-G by 40+ points. For some reason all of the success at the lower levels for Nederland is not translating into W's for the varsity. Jack Lynch is by far the best middle school coach in the area and has been for 30 years, but somehow unbeatable 8th grade teams does not always lead to success on Friday nights.
