  1. Sorry, I don't understand the question. Is it, If players WERE numbers, or what? Explain. He wants to know your thoughts on the subject of this thread...
  2. Fake punt in a scrimmage? Interesting! ??? ???
  3. Good points! We have an 8 team district and four of the teams make the playoffs each year. How many times has Vidor made the playoffs? Break down of the district the past 10 years (not sure how long Jeff has been there?) excluding Dayton and Livingston because they have been in and out. Upper tier (2) Nederland - Multiple playoffs, several DC's Central - Multiple Playoffs several DC's Middle tier (3) PNG - Several playoffs and A DC Lumberton - 2 playoffs and 2 DC's Ozen - Several Playoffs (not sure about DC's). Bottom Tier (2) Vidor - No Playoffs, No DC's LCM - No Playoffs, No DC's Like it or not Vidor is a bottom tier program. This year may be different, but as of today, the facts speak for themselves. And those bottom tier programs play cupcake non-ditrict schedules (scrimmages don't count). GO FIGURE.
  4. Is it really a surprise? People write these articles. Quality is a lost art. So, don't be surprised.
  5. To all: the question was simple. Does playing Kelly, St. Thomas , and Hardin Jefferson prepare Vidor to win the district that has been predicted? Looking for people's opinion.
  6. I know this is an age-old discussion point among coaches, and their fans as well. It has to do with the philosophy of coaches concerning pre-district games. Does one make it hard so the team will learn, or make them easy to get wins? This brings us to the question of Vidor's pre-district schedule: Does playing Kelly, St. Thomas, and Hardin Jefferson get you ready for the big dogs in the district? I would like to hear what people think about this.
  7. Calm down! You are going to get an aneurysm. ;D Wow!! 'second' Loss?
  8. It should be a win for Vidor. But -- if Kelly wins then Dave Campbell may have to rethink his preseason prediction abilities.
  9. OK, what offense did you run. One of the PN-G bunch, I thought, said BH ran the spread. Enlighten us. No way do we run the same offense! We have don it for 9 years and I'm sure we will change this year ;D ;D ;D
  10. If it's only about the offense and they both run the same thing, then who wins? ??? PS - If they (BH) ran the spread last year, a game in which they lost, then my point has been proven. It's about the personnel and not about the offense that one runs. You mean the one that they lost with last year? ;D
  11. I guess you better hope BH doesn't run the same offense.
  12. I'm looking at 7-3. W - Aug. 29 @ Beaumont Ozen, 7:00 p.m. (Babe Zaharias Stadium) W - Sept. 4 @ Beaumont Central, 7:00 p.m. L - Sept. 11 @ Spring Westfield, 7:00 p.m. W - Sept. 18 Aldine Eisenhower, 7:00 p.m. L - Sept. 26 @ Katy, 5:00 p.m. Oct. 2 OPEN W - Oct. 9 Channelview*, 7:00 p.m. W - Oct. 15 @ Baytown Lee*, 7:00 p.m. W - Oct. 23 Port Arthur Memorial*, 7:00 p.m. W - Oct. 30 @ Baytown Sterling*, 7:00 p.m. L - Nov. 6 Galena Park North Shore*, 7:00 p.m.
  13. Why, is he bringing the players with him also? It's not the offense, folks. It's the personnel. This is what will decide the game.
  14. It must be bad when all you can say about your team is that they have a good kicker. ;D
  15. One can only be cocky if one can back it up. Lately it appears that WB has been able to do just that. Agree/disagree?
  16. I will have to agree with COOP on this one.
  17. Could be 7-6 or 10-7. Which way? You pick.
  18. Good point! Thompson's a good one.
  19. I don't see the Brook losing to either Ozen or Central this year. Not with two new coaches. Maybe next year. PS: Has either ever beat a Stump team yet? Just curious.
  20. Is it something like bolder dash? ;D What's the last sentence mean? I really don't know, heard Maggie Thatcher say it once.
  21. This should be the opening week marquee game. How does it play out?
