  1. Inside info? Great. Fill us in. the new coach will not even be on the list.
  2. Since you have FACTS, give us some names. No need to worry, I know for FACT we have applicants. Both with and without masters. If you found it hard to believe there were no applicants, you were right. There have been some who have applied. The reports of zero are incorrect.
  3. Now Time Warner wants to charge you .99 cents to send you a bill. What a great company.
  4. The real problem is that there is no competition against Time Warner. They can charge and put on/take off anything think they want irregardless of customer complaints. When you are the only cable in town, you make the rules. Because what other cables company's can the poor sap customer turn to? And TW knows this. We need more cable competition. This will solve a lot of problems. And possibly lower cable bills and more programing. TW took channel 35 (ESPN Classic) off and has not replaced it. Did they lower our bills? No!
  5. No whine here. It all started with me questioning how the Lumberton coach could be ignore for coach of the year, at least share with the Central coach. He had a better record and won head-to-head. These are facts, not whines. And this is my opinion, not a whine. If you really want to quibble...Dayton was in 20-4A last year and you could say they're just "on loan" to 19-4A. Newspapers are starting to suck because of the proliferation of the internet and not vice-versa. Why wait a day to get the news in print when you can get it instantly on ESPN.com or some other internet source? The Liberty Vindicator is the largest paper in Liberty County...they probably have 3 reporters. These boards are great...we really do get to find out who the players to watch are from the other teams that never get reported in the paper. It even let's us Dayton fans keep up with 20-4A even though we only played Livingston (who is probably further from Beaumont than Dayton is). Of course Dayton would rather BE in 20-4A even if we have to drive 90 minutes to get to LCM... The end result is all that matters, not head to head matchups or records!!! I think you are a little too biased and maybe you should just congratulate someone instead of coming on here to whine and complain......
  6. Dude: They beat Central. Dude: They had a better record. What part of that don't people understand?! If you really want to quibble...Dayton was in 20-4A last year and you could say they're just "on loan" to 19-4A. 7. 1) Lumberton 2) Central 3) Livingston 4) PN-G 5) Nederland 6) Vidor 7) LC-M 8) Ozen
  8. We trying? No, it's because the Beaumont Enterprise no longer has a local sports department. The reporter that covered the Bridge City vs Silsbee football game this year was from Houston. Call the Enterprise and see if you can talk to the Sports Editor. I think the only local sports person remaining for the Enterprise is Rush Wood. Print media is hurting, NY Times is bankrupt, LA TImes hanging on by thread. Even our local TV stations are merging to save money. The advertisement dollar is scare, that's what of course fuels the media. When the local businesses can't fund the sports writers for the paper, boards like setxsports emerge. Local sports fans thrive to see their local team, son, daughter or grandchildren name in the news. We trying admin, we trying! lol
  9. Changes need to be made. But will it happen?
  10. Probably WO-S by 20 or more.
  11. The money could be better spent other places in the school district. Like I said before, building a fine fancy stadium doesn't educate one child. Plus, looking at PN-G's new stadium experience, it doesn't make a team play any better. So, a new stadium at Nederland? I wouldn't hold my breath. Just a matter of time before Nederland will follow and build a new stadium. Neumann will retire as a Bulldog.
  12. Since Neumann can't get a nice stadium like PN-G's, you think he'll apply?
  13. You know as well as anybody that playoffs are the luck of the draw. You know, depending on where one falls in one district and others fall in another. Some teams play good teams and some play bad teams, especially now that they just about let anybody go. So to say just because somebody went further in the playoffs then others sometimes isn't telling the whole story. So to use the "deeper in the playoffs" scenario doesn't always apply. But I'm not saying the Central coach didn't do a good job. I'm also saying one can't ignore what the Lumberton coach did. Again, one can't argue against a better record and head-to-head win.
  14. Hum, now let me see, a better record and won head-to-head and this doesn't mean anything? Well, maybe your right. But, I'm sure the people in Lumberton might have a different opinion. I think Central went farther in the playoffs this year, which is what it is all about. Coach Stowers well deserves coach of the year.. 4th round explains it all, no matter who beat who
  15. I'm also a little curious about the absence of the Lumberton coach as coach of the year. Didn't they have a better record than Central? And didn't they beat Central? Again, just curious.
  16. More interesting info. Of course, being able to work with people is as important as anything. But that too can be checked into.
  17. 1948? Then I see no problem with this hire. But maybe Neumann would. Ha!
  18. Chippy, thank you! This the answer I've been waiting for. Until now, nothing has been said about parent responsibility. People here keep saying that things have changed from the past. Well let me say this: the responsibility of the parents never change! Good post!!
  19. I've had Phil Danaher in the back of my mind as a possible choice. But I am curious what his age is. Does anyone know?
  20. Who said I didn't have a ride? You're missing the point. We took care of the situation ourselves. Again, what's wrong with saving the school district a little money? Oh, yes, it did get dark then also. That is what Coach Hooks was saying... It was not even close to 35,000..more like 10,000. And I had to find my way home as well, but the situation is a little more different here. I'm not so sure how long ago that was smitty or was it even at night. Times have changed. Things are different. Not to mention I bet you would have appreciated a ride home.
  21. Well we have the board member saying one figure and Hooks saying another. Which one is right? Anyway, as for as being different, you might need to explain. I lived close to one school and far from other. Both times I had to find my own way home. That is what Coach Hooks was saying... It was not even close to 35,000..more like 10,000. And I had to find my way home as well, but the situation is a little more different here.
  22. Was not there. Speaking in general. Saving $35,000 a year is a good thing.
  23. I had to find myself a way home after practice every time. What's the problem?
