  1. Unless you are on another planet, school board members are me and you. What makes them more qualified? Enlighten me. Taxpayers are not crap. Is this way you feel about yourself? We have the right, no, the obligation, to question anything. When picking coaches, I know you can't always get it right. But you can narrow the alley for potential success. But good post. Your opinion is appreciated.
  2. It's been a great discussion so far, with the exception of two whiny post. I know how to make sure the taxpayers get their money's worth when hiring HC's. You have discussions, you take your time and talk pros and cons of the different candidates. Since Long has been mentioned, we need to know this. Or is this above your comprehension? Boob? Ha! That's brilliant, Einstein. Again, Coop, please start a whiny board. Not whining at all. Just amazed at the arrogance of ignorant boobs such as yourself! I doubt that you could tell the difference between the power I and the wishbone.
  3. Anyone know if the Gilmer coach has been contacted?
  4. IndianChief: Yours was a good one also.
  5. Now this is a serious discussion. BADNDN: Good one.
  6. Hey Coop, sounds like all some of these people want to do is whine. Can you create a whining board so that these touchy-feely people can go to and feel good about themselves. And leave the serious discussion to those that really wants to discuss. And Bear, go ahead and create a logger, refinery, or whatever discussion, and see if you get any takers. And Bear, it sounds like you are shocked that there are other opinions.
  7. There is a lot of speculation that Long is the favorite for this job. But not sure how they'll handle the Masters situation. I'm sure there are a lot of HC's with Masters around the state -- with good records -- that would love to have this job. Again hinting to go out and talk to some of the top-notch coaches around the state. Don't limit yourself. Well, back to the subject. Con: People were saying PN-G's offense was boring. Well -- they ran Long's offense. So what they might be saying is he'll be less boring? He won't have his son as QB. He'll keep a majority of the asst. coaches. Sometimes when things are bad, one has to clean house. Now we could put this in the pro category if he cleans house. Pro: He's not MB. I'm can't remember what his record is at Kelly. So I can't place that yet in the Pro or Con category. Any thoughts?
  8. Then you know what I'm talking about. Or do you? You guys sure don't mind playing around with other people's livelyhood do you? Those that are already there do have wives and kids to feed I'm sure but go ahead and sit at your factory job as an education system/football know it all. By the way. Although teachers do get renewed in February, most dont sign contracts until April and even then all teachers/coaches have until the first of July to opt out of that contract. We all have the right to say anything. Its called freedom of speech. However, it doesn't make us right just because its "a right". Teachers and coaches are taxpayers as well. As a taxpayer you vote and pay taxes, that is your duty. Not to be a know it all about things that you aren't educated in. And no teachers/coaches don't have to kowtow to any "taxpayer". Teachers/coaches do not work for YOU!. Go to those coaches faces and tell them what you really think if you are man enough. Carping anonymously on a message board in the privacy of your living room is not the correct way. Thats really simple to understand! You aren't the only ex Marine out there padre.
  9. One penny of my taxes gives me the right to say anything. And I do, in writing or to their face. You guys sure don't mind playing around with other people's livelyhood do you? 10. Bear, if you knew who I was you wouldn't doubt what I'd say on this board or to anyone's face. Ex-marines have a way of getting their points across. I'll leave it at that. Again, a simple thing to understand. You guys sure don't mind playing around with other people's livelyhood do you? Those that are already there do have wives and kids to feed I'm sure but go ahead and sit at your factory job as an education system/football know it all. By the way. 11. It sounds like some might not be able to make it in the private sector! You guys sure don't mind playing around with other people's livelyhood do you? 12. Answering a question with a question is fairly interesting. But your statement sounded like you knew what you were talking about.
  13. When you make a living off of the taxpayer's dime, those taxpayer's have the right to say anything. If the receivers of the taxpayer's dime don't like it then they can go and get a job in the private sector. It's really simple to understand. 14. And you know this how?
  15. If the package is right, anyone would leave. Would you? I'd be happy to take a bet on that one. Traylor ain't leavin' Gilmer for PNG.
  16. Good one! I hear one of his kids is allergic to Benzene.
  17. How do you know this?!
  18. You may need to refresh my memory: Escue coached with Rabb at West Brook. How did they do? How did Rabb do over all? I think when we get the answer we'll have to do a little study on comparing the records of Rabb, Long against the Gilmer and Everman coach. Come to think of it, this might be interesting!
  19. I bet Nederland is holding their breath also.
  20. I thought JAL was saying that Malone was giving a raw deal to his assistants. I stand corrected.
  21. Is it your thinking that Long would a better choice than either the Gilmer or Everman coach?
  22. Well the Gilmer coach can now be contacted. Will have to wait on the Everman coach. I would strongly urge the people in PN to make these contacts. All I can say is don't make a haste decision.
  23. What is correct? I remember one assistant crying. What's the scoop? How did they get a raw deal? Please enlighten us. That is correct
