So we want kids to play multiple sports but do not want them lifting heavy weights in season? Only light lifting during the season? For multi sports athletes, that does not leave much time to get a true workout program going. What should happen is this... Football Coach/AD runs athletics. During FOOTBALL OFF SEASON. athletes can go with their head coach of other sport on game days for that sport. If you want to build a true athletic program, the weight room is a huge part of that.

Not for sure on that yet. It is one of the options they are discussing though -
Division 1/Division 2 For All Sports?
Unbelievableee replied to Unbelievableee's topic in High School Baseball
Agree and from my understand, it is going to for sure. Only question is when it will take place. -
Whew man! I guess kids should not run during athletics because they might pull a muscle or roll an ankle and be out of their in season sport. What a joke

Division 1/Division 2 For All Sports?
Unbelievableee replied to Unbelievableee's topic in High School Baseball
Understand. A few of the ones I talked to said otherwise but that does not mean they are right. -
I have heard from multiple legit sources that the UIL is on the verge of making every sport the same as football as far as every level having two divisions. My question is, is this actually happening and if it is, will it go in effect immediately or in 2 years for next realignment? I have heard both options, so just curious.

Nederland is open, Barrow Resigns
Unbelievableee replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
Here is the facebook post for y'all I’m not going to put names or schools on this, but feel free to screen shot it to whoever you like. Yes yes, I’m a baseball guy. But I love football more than baseball. My son played all three sports in high school. So I’m not a baseball only guy. But if your high school football coach has your Varsity baseball son doing football drills in pads right now, that is wrong. At one certain school, the baseball team lost their starting third baseman (Gladiator kid) because he dislocated his elbow in a football drill. Two weeks before high school baseball playoffs, and now his season is done. Basically this coaches decision to make Varsity baseball players do football workouts on April 22nd, 5 months before Friday night lights, just sabotaged this kids season, and the teams season. And once again, I’m a huge football supporter, but this is wrong!! This is why kids stop playing football. Coaches preach they want kids playing all the sports, well how about respect baseball season, from Feb to May ! If the shoe was on the other foot, and a kid got injured playing baseball in October and he was a varsity football starter, what would that coach do? Be pissed off! And I would 100% agree with him! There is a reason I don’t have a fall baseball program with football guys. Because I respect football season. All I’m asking is football coaches to respect baseball season. Respect the High School baseball coaches that have worked their ass off to try to get their team in a playoff situation. Support them, don’t Sabotage them by taking their players out because of a “all important April 22nd” football workout. And I don’t want to hear this was bad luck, or any crap like that!!!A lot of these kids are Division One Baseball players, and just good high school football players. If you want to continue to have these kids play football, start doing the right thing. If not, I’m going to try to get those kids quit football and just focus on baseball. And let me say it again, I want all my Gladiator kids playing football!! I go support them watching their football games, and I love it!! But not at the cost of an injury in April playing football, not baseball . Bad miss……Do a better job! Be a better football coach, and remember, it’s not about you, but it’s about the kids who respect you and will do anything you ask them to do. Don’t punish them for being a good baseball or basketball player!! -
Liberty Barbers Hill Kountze BC until they run into Liberty Brookeland

Both their pitchers are top notch. Because, Kirbyville walked Smith all 4 times and took her bat out the game. She leads the area in HR's and RBI's. Took her bat out the game and scored 4 runs.

should be anahuac as well if I am not mistaken. Kirbyville exposed Kountze last night.

District predictions - Post’m here!
Unbelievableee replied to Bobcat1's topic in High School Softball
Beat Jasper and WOS after this post... Silsbee will be fine. They will take their lumps this year. They have competed, just not getting the job done this year. Which is ok. They are literally a JV team. 6 Freshman, 2 sophomores, 1 Jr. And it is a very talented district. They remind me a lot of the Kountze group that are Seniors right now. Very sucessful in Little league and select. Their freshman year they got 4th in their district. Next couple years they were battling for 1st, and now this year they are seniors and ranked top 25 in the state. 1st - BC - Fall is untouchable. Simple as that. The freshman pitcher for Silsbee held BC to 6 runs (5 earned) and it was a 3-0 ball game in the 6th inning. BC Run Ruled them both games last year. 2nd - Lumberton - Playing out of their mind right now. Can hit the ball throughout the lineup and plays great defense behind a solid pitcher. Much improved team this season. 3rd - LCM - Had a tough loss to Lumberton but still playing good ball. I believe they will end up the 2 seed. They can stroke the ball. 4th - Vidor - Playing decent ball. They hit the ball well overall, I just think they had a rough game against Ltown and LCM. Silsbee had them on the ropes and it was a 0-0 ball game in the 4th and then the wheels fell off. Crazy stat, Freshman pitcher gave up 7 runs but 0 were earned. Errors killed them that game. Still went the complete game with them. Last year Silsbee was run ruled both times by them. 5th - Silsbee - Showing tons of potential and the future is bright. Have 5 girls that have hit a homerun this season. 11 HR total. Last year there were only 2. Obviously much improved. 6th - Jasper - Under performing for sure. They have talent but can't seem to put it together. Silsbee beat them 14-5. Silsbee was run ruled both games last year. 7th - WOS -

District predictions - Post’m here!
Unbelievableee replied to Bobcat1's topic in High School Softball
Now that District is here... it will be a very interesting and competitive district, but this is how I see it shaping up. 1. LCM (15-4) - District champs from last year with all returners. Lexie Moss is absolutely killing the ball. I believe she leads the area in Home runs with 8. EIther her or Smith from Kountze. Very solid pitching and defense also. Will be some great battles against Fall. 2. BC (11-9) - The only reason they are competitive is because of Fall. She is a phenom but can't do it all by herself. They do not hit the ball well at all and defense is average at best when the ball is put in play. 3. Vidor (15-5) - Vidor is doing very well with what they have. A couple of young players are stepping up. They even beat BS with Fall pitching in a tournament. I can see them slipping up and losing a game or two that they shouldn't. 4. Silsbee (14-5) - Doing much better than poeple thought. Won a couple close games against solid teams. Very young though, so who knows how they will respond to adversity when it comes up. I believe they start 6 freshman and 2 sophomores, so the future looks bright for them, if this is true. 5. Jasper (7-9) - Jasper is under performing so far if you ask me. They have Sells, which is an absolute beast, but other than her, they are struggling this year. They will be in the mix for that 4th spot, but I just do not see them getting it. 6. Lumberton (4-11) - Once they get their best player back from injury, they will be competitive for the 4th spot also. They hit the ball decently, but they do not have a dominating pitcher. 7. WOS - (5-13) - .... I think 1 and 2 could honestly go either way. 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be fun to see how it shapes up, but I give the nod to Vidor right now.
