  1. #2 on Brock looks like dislocated shoulder perhaps
  2. Parish Episcopal beat LBJ handily back in September, and also beat Aledo, then lost a close one to SOC, also in September. So that's sort of a comparison using high school football logic. I've seen recent press articles that indicate SOC has some injured players now, particularly on offense, but apparently it's still the same old defense. LBJ was very athletic, undisciplined, and played a sandlot style of football, and IMO was the dirtiest playing team PNG has seen to date. But I think the toughest playoff game was with FBM. With all due respect for Liberty Hill, last Friday was sort of a vacation for PNG. IMO if PNG can beat LBJ, then they can beat SOC, but everyone has to be on top of their game, including whoever plays center. No bad snaps, no turnovers, Crippen has a good game, along with a solid defense, and PNG can win it. I think that if this team really wants it, they can take it to SOC.
  3. Question for you or anyone else: How does Bally's compare to Texan Live as far as broadcast quality? TL sometimes has an ad running that interferes with a play; and also they have video for halftime but not audio.
  4. I had to google "x-factor" .... "A strong but unpredictable influence." It could be anybody, offense or defense, or both, or even a special teams player. It's been this way all season. If I had to pick one, I could easily go along with Shea. But I think that if Cole has a good game then the Indians will win it. If I had to put the game on one guy's shoulders it would be Cole, and I'm praying that he will have a good game this Friday.
  5. This team is special, in ways I won't elaborate on in a public forum, although some of it was in the news media. I'm proud of this team, and I think that they will shock people again next Friday and defeat SOC.
  6. I don't remember who got the "band interference" penalty last night, SOC or Argyle, but I don't recall ever hearing or seeing that one before. A band cannot play when the opposing team is on offense, apprently. I listened to most of the 4th qtr, and it sounded like Argyle had opportunities but just blew it. Regardless, if PNG can hold their own against LBJ and FBM, then they should be able to hold their own against SOC. No offense to LH, Brenham, or Montgomery of course, but FBM had been ranked #2 pretty much all season and they were a solid team, run and pass, as well as defense.
  7. SOC 14 -6, 4th qtr Argyle was penalized at one point for band interference. Apparently a band cannot play when the opposing team is on offense.
  8. C'mon Indians, same thing, 2nd half. C'mon refs get that guy off #18's back.
  9. People say that there was nothing good that was made in the US in the 70s, especially autos and shotguns. But the '70 and '71 Cutlass Supreme was a nice looking car, and popular too. A good friend of mine in high school, fortunate enough to be raised in a wealthy home, and could have the car of his choice, selected a '71 Cutlass Supreme for his graduation gift. BTW, where did you make $3.50/hr in '78? In the summer of '71 I made $4.50/hr as a laborer at a local refinery. I think I made $3.50/hr in the summers of '72-'73 though, at a steel drum plant. I bought a '73 Yamaha 650, for ~$1000 I think, +/-. Regarding football, and your earlier comment about watching PNG-LBJ, LBJ was the "worst" team we played all season, to put it very politely. FBM was a close second, along with a few others. It's been one heck of a strange season, IMO, but I won't elaborate here. Anyway, should be a good game tomorrow night. I pray for all of the players, for their safety, and that they will be able to do their best.
  10. That LH offense sprint from huddle to the LOS really looks odd, and many times they don't look set before the snap, and there's never a flag thrown. What's the deal? And the center. many times, immediately snaps the ball when he gets to it, fires out and pretty much tackles the nose guard and there's never a flag for holding either. It reminds me of the "old days" back in the 60s and 70s. You better not let coach see you walk to the LOS from the huddle, but we didn't have to sprint, and the QB took the time to call the count and the snap. PNG LBs and DBs will have to be where they want to be or get there quickly after the LH offensive huddle breaks. There should be some interesting practices this week at the Reservation.
  11. #30 and #31 are (or were) injured, from the LBJ game. #26 too, but he's defense not offense. Nguyen had a great season last year on JV, and it's great to see him back now from an injury at the end of the regular season.
  12. Hopefully the PNG coaches will have the JVs or whoever runs the opposing team's plays for the defense, sprinting from the huddle to the line all week in practice.
  13. 22 hours ago, Mr. Buddy Garrity said: And?? You can call holding every play regardless of team. All season long from game #1, every game and every team I've seen, the Refs have not flagged what I would've always called offensive holding. Not even what I would call holding holding. I still don't know for sure exactly what type holding will draw a flag. My grandson is an inside linebacker and he's been held, tackled, face masked, and his jersey darn near pulled off of his shoulder pads. He says the coaches have told all of the players, "don't come and tell me that they are holding". In other words, I guess they have to learn to just deal with it.
  14. I plan to be there; we're ALL gonna be there! Great game and great execution for PNG tonight. And great job by the band and drill team, the halftime was awesome, they really outdid themselves.
  15. Liberty Hill looks like a decent team, sort of like Brenham. I'm getting tired of seeing the dirty playing teams.
  16. Groovy groovy groovy, tough tough tough, they might beat everybody but they can't beat us.
  17. Hidee hidee hidee, who the hell are we? Bam Bam ---------- we're from PNG.
