  1. That LH offense sprint from huddle to the LOS really looks odd, and many times they don't look set before the snap, and there's never a flag thrown. What's the deal? And the center. many times, immediately snaps the ball when he gets to it, fires out and pretty much tackles the nose guard and there's never a flag for holding either. It reminds me of the "old days" back in the 60s and 70s. You better not let coach see you walk to the LOS from the huddle, but we didn't have to sprint, and the QB took the time to call the count and the snap. PNG LBs and DBs will have to be where they want to be or get there quickly after the LH offensive huddle breaks. There should be some interesting practices this week at the Reservation.
  2. #30 and #31 are (or were) injured, from the LBJ game. #26 too, but he's defense not offense. Nguyen had a great season last year on JV, and it's great to see him back now from an injury at the end of the regular season.
  3. Hopefully the PNG coaches will have the JVs or whoever runs the opposing team's plays for the defense, sprinting from the huddle to the line all week in practice.
  4. 22 hours ago, Mr. Buddy Garrity said: And?? You can call holding every play regardless of team. All season long from game #1, every game and every team I've seen, the Refs have not flagged what I would've always called offensive holding. Not even what I would call holding holding. I still don't know for sure exactly what type holding will draw a flag. My grandson is an inside linebacker and he's been held, tackled, face masked, and his jersey darn near pulled off of his shoulder pads. He says the coaches have told all of the players, "don't come and tell me that they are holding". In other words, I guess they have to learn to just deal with it.
  5. I plan to be there; we're ALL gonna be there! Great game and great execution for PNG tonight. And great job by the band and drill team, the halftime was awesome, they really outdid themselves.
  6. Liberty Hill looks like a decent team, sort of like Brenham. I'm getting tired of seeing the dirty playing teams.
  7. Groovy groovy groovy, tough tough tough, they might beat everybody but they can't beat us.
  8. Hidee hidee hidee, who the hell are we? Bam Bam ---------- we're from PNG.
  9. +1 I spoke with one of the players yesterday. "We're ready for them", was all he had to say about that.
  10. “this game is played by humans, man. It’s not played by computers.” Jeff Bagwell
  11. Yeah, I guess when anywhere from 16 to 18 kids per offense and defense on each team, 1st and 2nd, are being recognized, including 3 or 4 punters, then there's no need to recognize some kid who enjoyed a great season covering kickoffs and other misc. duties. I'm not being sarcastic or cynical, just over-thinking it, and aloud. Sincere congrats to all of the players listed above and their coaches.
  12. Yep. Basically 2300 tickets were sold in the first 24 hours. I know folks that won't commit to go anywhere, much less a Friday night out of town ball game, until at least mid-week. My guess is that the PNG side of stadium will be nearly full.
  13. Is there an all district special teams list, other than the kickers? Perhaps not 11 spots, but maybe an underclassman or a Senior that's not a starter otherwise. Perhaps 1 guy nominated from each of the teams in the district.
  14. That's a fair challenge. Many have become spoiled by Texan Live or whatever. But still, I bought tickets and plan to be at the game for support, but also because TL is just not the same as being there.
  15. And furthermore, this should be a particularly interesting game. PNG's offense is just now, in the past couple of games, beginning to come together, the recent 2nd half ease ups notwithstanding. FBMs' front defensive 4 is their strength, and the big defensive end is the strong right arm. We'll see how our now-well-known 3rd and short rugby scrum play works with their front 4 + linebackers. Hopefully we'll see some surprises in that regard.
