Yeah, I guess when anywhere from 16 to 18 kids per offense and defense on each team, 1st and 2nd, are being recognized, including 3 or 4 punters, then there's no need to recognize some kid who enjoyed a great season covering kickoffs and other misc. duties. I'm not being sarcastic or cynical, just over-thinking it, and aloud. Sincere congrats to all of the players listed above and their coaches.

Yep. Basically 2300 tickets were sold in the first 24 hours. I know folks that won't commit to go anywhere, much less a Friday night out of town ball game, until at least mid-week. My guess is that the PNG side of stadium will be nearly full.

Is there an all district special teams list, other than the kickers? Perhaps not 11 spots, but maybe an underclassman or a Senior that's not a starter otherwise. Perhaps 1 guy nominated from each of the teams in the district.

That's a fair challenge. Many have become spoiled by Texan Live or whatever. But still, I bought tickets and plan to be at the game for support, but also because TL is just not the same as being there.

And furthermore, this should be a particularly interesting game. PNG's offense is just now, in the past couple of games, beginning to come together, the recent 2nd half ease ups notwithstanding. FBMs' front defensive 4 is their strength, and the big defensive end is the strong right arm. We'll see how our now-well-known 3rd and short rugby scrum play works with their front 4 + linebackers. Hopefully we'll see some surprises in that regard.

In the first meetup any time FBM needed a 1st down they just threw to the tall wide receiver who always lined up on the right side. He'd go 5 or 10 yards, whatever was needed, and boom, 1st down. PNG's DB never covered him close, at all. Whenever PNG played back and/or blitzed, FBM would throw a little screen type pass to a back coming across in front of the line of scrimmage. Also busted plays ate PNG up. I'm sure the PNG coaches are on top of all of this now. Hopefully no turnovers like the first game. Also double hopefully there will be some decent refs. Those in FB were absolutely horrible. Of course all of the refs everywhere have had a hard time throwing flags for holding this season, all season. Edit: Like was already said above, PNG and the refs combined to spot FBM 14 points right off, and they pretty much stayed ahead by 14 for the rest of the game, 21-7, 28-14, etc, until the very end of the game when backups were in and they broke a long run for the final score, 35-14.

PNG but we're the underdog. It's gonna be close, can't have any turnovers and can't let up.

Thanks all, I found the replay on TL. Re the FBM game at Fort Bend, it was plenty hot, and I saw a couple of people that got overcome. But the concession stand had plenty water, gatoraid and pickles as far as I remember, at least I know that I had my share of all 3. I thought that PNG players were in better shape than FBM's were, actually, just based on the numbers of players down in the 4th quarter, and the way the game went. Still, we lost both starting inside linebackers that game, and a few others iIrc. I'm looking forward to a second game against FBM now.

The replay apparently isn't available on TL. Neither is last night's Lumberton game.

It was good to see #33 was back and really ran the ball great tonight. #43 stepped up (again) in the inside LB position and did great. Two or 3 new guys on the STs did great jobs as well. Don't know if starting LB #6 will be back or not, and same for #31 on STs and defense. #26 on STs and back up inside LB may not return, he is scheduled to get a cast on his wrist next week. Hopefully more guys will be healthy on defense, and the offense will continue to improve, for next week against FBM. All in all a great game and a good win for the Indians tonight. Congrats to the kids and coaches. And congrats to Brenham for a good season and good game, they were a breath of fresh air, compared to LBJ last week.
