  1. Yep, if so then that's a tough break for Huntsville, and it also means that things are serendipitously falling into place for Nederland. This is obviously their year. If some major player for Montgomery gets hurt this Friday in the PNG game, then we'll know for sure.
  2. LOL! There're several things that have jinxed the PNG season, and those dimming lights are certainly one of them, IMO. The malfunction last Fri while your own team is trying to kick an EP was ridiculous. I've been holding my breath with every EP this season already, but that was simply ridiculous.
  3. No one except CJ can answer your question of course, but regular viewers notice that he's all over the sidelines, and always engaged. At the side at times, and sometimes in the middle, and occasionally one on one in a player's face. Don't try to read anything into it. Nederland won this one, and leave it at that.
  4. You are definitely correct right there. Congrats to the Nederland team, they came to play some football. Great win for them last night, and especially for all of their 3-year starters.
  5. Man. I should have bet money on this game.
  6. I think CB's arm must be hurt? He's way off tonight.
  7. The Indians are playing uninspired football. I can almost see the offensive linemen yawning in between plays. All the team needs is a little fire and they'll be ok.
  8. WOS should win this one. But not if they play like they did against Nederland, they pretty much gave that game away. They've been on a cake walk since then.
  9. It does seem toned down a bit. I think the parents and fans are getting impatient. The boys are practicing as usual. Coach Jos. said it well when he called the game more than just a rivalry, because of the familiarity. Texas and A&M (or OK), Alabama vs Auburn, Army vs Navy, are rivalries. With this one the boys are all familiar with one another or pretty much know each other. They've played select baseball or Babe Ruth together, or soccer, or whatever. Some are likely related. There are cross town girl friends, etc etc. That's why the game is so unpredictable, it's like an organized sandlot game with coaches. Still, PNG is favored to win this one, and rightly so I think. We'll see what happens, but I expect a game a little closer than last year's game.
  10. Laporte. By 2, maybe 3, TDs.
  11. Well, since everyone has their own opinion, I think that comparing last years' team with this years' team, PNG or Ned either one, will get you in trouble around these forums, especially on the PNG forum. Regardless, both teams are different from last season. But the game will be the same. All of the seniors will likely start, with any usual/regular non-Sr starters gradually subbing into the game. By the second series the game will open up. PNG will control the clock and the game, with Ned relying on big plays. I'm thinking it'll be more of a game like last year, with PNG pulling away in the 4th. In any case it should be a good game.
  12. Beaumont U. It's been about a month since they beat Jasper; they're due one. WB is still reeling from last week's loss to PAM. BU has shrugged off their loss to Lufkin Barber's Hill. And they have a good band, too, based on what very little I've seen, that knows when to play and when not to, and when to play loud. (At least I THINK that I have this straight.)
  13. PNG side anyway, was sold out at 9:03 this morning.
  14. MCM tickets go on sale in the morning at 9. I'll be on line and hoping the system doesn't crash, or at least before I grab a couple of tickets. Friday evening I'll also be keeping an eye on the Lufkin - PAM score, as well as the Huntsville score. And Sabine Pass too, whoever they're playing, and I hope they'll be able to get it back together.
  15. Houston Chronicle, I think, had a good article on this last week. Or maybe this week; and maybe it was somewhere else I saw it. Anyway, lots of older guys leaving for various reasons, and not many new and/or younger guys joining the ranks. Too much hassle, too much time, too much rudeness and lack of sportsmanship, no respect, and in some cases too dangerous.
  16. That's really too bad; but I wouldn't throw too big a stone at them. It seems like a pretty frustrating game, and there's no telling what's being said out there. Of course I'm not there watching so I don't know. Looks like they met their match tonight, but hopefully they'll get it together.
  17. Took the words right out of my mouth, so to speak. BTW, I'm out of "likes" tonight, for the first time ever. I wasn't even aware that there was a limit on likes.
  18. Good grief. Hopefully there weren't any belts swinging while shaking hands after the game.
