Last season these two teams met in the playoffs with LC ranked 2nd in 5a-2, and I think PNG was ranked 8th or thereabouts. PNG built a lead and then hung on, intercepting a pass at the end for the win. At a glance so far, both teams this season seem to have found their game on offense, but still working to get the defense hitting on all cylinders. The PNG defense so far hasn't shown last seasons speed. This game could be another one like the LaPort - PNG game week before last. I'm going with PNG and home field advantage, and perhaps a little improved defense since Laporte.

I've seen it flagged once before last night. In one of the deep round playoff games last season, a band was flagged at a critical time, and it affected the outcome of the game. In another game last season, where I was in attendance, a band was warned to stop playing, but there was no flag thrown. I don't know how critical last night's band penalty was, there were so many penalties trading back and forth during that time.

The BU defense deserves a steak dinner. Also good game to #10, #1, #5 on offense. And #8. Hell of a game.

So that's what that was. They're trading penalties, illegal motion(s) vs USC(s). This is hard to watch, but at least it's a close game.

Pretty hard to watch for BU fans, or anybody. Not to take anything away from Jasper's defense, they did their job, but that was some bad play calling right there.

I'm watching on the Jasper station's site, KJAS I think. To quote the announcers, "there's a whole lot of lollygagging going on tonight". BU's QB #10 has much less zip on his passes tonight, but he's hanging in there. BU's #1 is running hard. Jaspers #19 runs hard also, but he's not getting the ball enough. The rest of the game so far is pretty slow. Obviously some good athletes out there, but the game is just slow. Overthrown passes, receivers out of bounds, a few penalties, etc. 1:04 left in the 1st half. Jasper is up 7-0.

FBM hasn't been the same since two seasons ago, after the QB and the 7 or 8 D1 defensive players graduated, especially the big DE. Last season the coach spoke about his very young team; and I was thinking they'd give a better showing for RR. But RR finished last season pretty strong I think, even while being eliminated in one of the later playoff rounds. Looks like they're making a statement this season.

What a tragedy, and what a loss. None of the reaction buttons seem appropriate; it feels odd to select "like", or any of the others.

Sure there is, just by simple default. But the remainder of Rez' paragraph is correct. If A > B and B > C, then A > C, except on any given night in high school football.

I Googled SLC. They appear to be a team of ~ 70 players with ~16 freshmen and ~15 seniors, and the rest are everything in between. They appear to be a private school similar to Beaumont Kelly? I wonder why they don't try to schedule Kelly rather than OF? Either way, they may be a bit overmatched, but they'll likely give a good effort.

I hope the kid, and whatever the situation is, turns out ok. Back in the 70s I saw a kid get suspended, for setting off either a firecracker or a smoke bomb, then get unsuspended so he could play in a game, then afterward get suspended again. Anyway ... hope all turns out well.

That's not too bad of a score prediction, but I hope it's a closer game than that score indicates.

I haven't seen Jasper, and I've only seen BU against PNG. Without trying to recall any specifics, they seemed to make one mistake after another in the PNG game, and were over matched, but the QB has a decent arm and the receivers get open. Maybe they'll get it together this week.

Yeah, thank goodness for NDN Press. Last season folks in the comments would ask for the camera to show the cheerleaders and band more, and I notice that this season after pretty much every play the camera goes to the band and cheerleaders, darn near missing the next play. Gets aggravating after a while, but still, I'm glad they're doing the games, and I enjoy watching them whenever I can't be at the game.
