I don’t think you’re lying I’m telling you that you don’t have no clue what you’re talking about. I’ll say it again: there’s no where in Beaumont, Tx that takes you 30 mins to get to. Anybody that’s actually from Beaumont will tell you this. Furthermore football is a numbers game: WB & BU are bad simply because one they currently don’t have the numbers or talent to compete on its own. You combine them into one school, get the right coaching staff that will get all of the talent from out of the halls, proper admin infrastructure, middle school feeder programs etc you’ll create a dominate football program. Of course it wouldn’t be instant & would take time but it’s extremely doable. Beaumont isn’t short of talent, kids simply aren’t participating because the programs have been historically bad. A new school would bring excitement and have more kids wanting to participate & of course it helps having a coach like Dre who can relate to kids and get them to come play for him.

And North Shore, Allen, Elsik etc etc

Another post from someone who isn’t from Beaumont. You wouldn’t be going to one HS because you would create multiple campuses since you have several campuses in the district that aren’t being used. Simple, there’s kids being bused from every end of Beaumont currently & it isn’t an issue. Having one high school wouldn’t create one either.

Bullets please stop idc what side of town you’re on it’s not taking you 30 mins to drive anywhere in Beaumont, Tx I literally just put the commute in from Bingman to Westbrook & it was only 21 mins and that’s with traffic…please stop this non sense bullets. The improvements are quite simple…Beaumont would literally dominate every sport that matters.

This post alone lets me know you’re not from Beaumont. Cause there’s literally nowhere in Beaumont that it takes 30 mins to get to lol you got kids being bussed from the North End of Beaumont to the Pear Orchard every day with no problem. But to answer your question Allen, Tx has the same population as Beaumont & tell me how many schools they have there? Seems to be working pretty well for them. Same with New Braunfels & Temple. BISD wouldn’t have to build a new school to make this happen either btw, they just merged two schools together and didn’t have to build a new campus. They have plenty of options to use as a 9th grade campus, 10th grade campus etc. Nothing is impractical about having a school of 4300 students, there’s literally about 20 HS in the state that has close to 4k students or greater. Gotta lose the small town mindset! There’s absolutely no reason at all for Beaumont to have 2 HS & damn sure should’ve never had 3.

That’s right I believe he’s taken almost every school he’s coached to state.

Actually they went to state the first year after he left 🤣🤣 with the same kids he lost the previous year with in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Green left NS after being one of the highest paid coaches to take the BU job because he knew the talent pool was drying up. Lol which was a great move might I add. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t believe Green ever even went to state at Hightower! Lol Soulja so misinformed Let me let you in on a little secret Souja, having been involved in recruiting & coaching of players that were recruited I kinda know a little bit. Having a scholarship “offer” means nothing in 2025. There’s this thing called “commitable” & “non-commitable” offers. If he can’t call that school & commit to them then he’s not a D1 player. Also if you go read my previous post I said EJ is possibly the only D1 player on the floor. But it’s honestly too early to tell at this point. I like G kid can play, but he’s not a D1 basketball player IMO, I could be wrong though.

Yes any team that Green has took to state or won state with had DUDES! He had two Division 1 players when he won state at NS (Jerray Foster SMU & Kerwin Roach Texas) along with several other players that played college basketball. That NS team he won state with was loaded! Same when he was at Hightower. And to answer your question no I don’t think Green would win state if he had G. I’ve been on record saying that the two Beaumont teams are some of the least talented Beaumont has had in a while. High probability there wasn’t a single Division 1 basketball on the court last night. & yes a good coach has to have the ability to run sets and have an overall offensive philosophy/foundation. I think Green is a damn good coach, however the offensive side of the ball isn’t his strong suit. I’ve been watching Green for years, his bread & butter is “One Call” which is 4 out with a high ball screen being set by the big. That is elementary stuff, no way you watched that game and thought United looked competent on the offensive end of the floor. A bunch of 1on1 iso ball, which has been a critic of mine for Green for years. Diff is he ain’t have a Wesley, Dotson etc to do it with this year. Now some will tend to think he overachieved this year with this group but did he really? With the watered down split divisions? I guess 🤷🏽‍♂️

Soulja please stop it, I had to chance to work closely with Green during his time at NS & he’s NEVER been a big X&O’s guy. Even if you go watch him the past 4-5 years with Yates & company…he didn’t run anything spectacular, he just had the players. Which nothing is wrong with that, but when you don’t have those dudes you gotta be able to make adjustments & like I said earlier Green is a sure fire HOF, but I call a spade a spade. Side note: being in the building and watching this game, I can’t help but wonder how much more successful BISD athletics would be if it only had one school.

Side note: anyone who ever questioned whether Mike T was a good hire…this playoff run should quiet all of that noise.

Will they? Only time Green’s teams have had huge success is when he’s had major D1 talent. I don’t see any on the floor outside of maybe EJ

Second Qrt thoughts: I love Green future HOF…but he runs ZERO offensive sets! Gotta run that just a high ball screen you don’t have Wesley Yates, Arceneaux etc WB will guard the hell out of you! Sometimes a team X is better than your O! That X being Elijah Garrett

First Quarter thoughts: I’m kind of baffled that Green runs zero plays for EJ…WB has no answer for him. On the flip side Mike T should make the adjustment to go small ball/5 out & force EJ to guard on the perimeter. That’s the blueprint Weiss had that made it difficult for BU. Otherwise he’s just sitting in the paint preventing them from attacking the rim.

Exactly lol I don’t get it…but things like this is also why I advise coaches I know to stay away from jobs like this. Bringing in a different figure head & not changing anything else will only result in the exact same results from the previous regime. Not sure how people in the community don’t understand this. Beaumont is missing two key things that every successful football program has: Proper Infrastructure from Admin to be successful & most importantly TALENT!

Word is it’s because Ron Jackson said that the current coaches have homes & families in Beaumont. But if it’s me I would let the coaches know on the current staff that they can keep their teaching position they just won’t be coaching. Pretty simple honestly

Yup don’t like it in football either but can understand the reasoning…basketball I’m honestly confused as to why they changed to this format literally watering down the product! On top of that you required to play one less game to win state, disrespectful to teams and coaches of the past who did it the hard way.

Well let’s keep in mind this basketball stuff is watered down..split divisions so you get to avoid the best team in your region. UIL needs to do away with the split divisions…it sucks honestly!
