  1. Most times the places with the top end facilities tend to have better than average educational opportunities. There are exceptions just very few
  2. Question if I am a parent looking at moving to an area with a couple of places available all things being equal. Do I put my kid in the place with better facilities? Wt room, practice facilities, gyms, stadiums etc? They are Selling points for communities
  3. Coaching pay in suburbs has got to be pretty good. Guys can make mid 80’s pretty quick with enough stipends. Can be hard to leave for assistant job in country for 15k cut not to mention if wife teaches. Subs pay mid 60’s rural not so much.
  4. Everyone says this or that offensive system. It’s all philosophy of the head coach that is hired. The bigger thing is players buying into that system.
  5. On a positive note they seem pretty patient with coaches. as with everything are they willing to pay? how are the numbers sub varsity wise/ talent? What offensive/ defensive systems are a fit? facilities? Kids/ work ethic/ buy in? as always someone will be real happy when they get that job
  6. Indoors have advantages for most spring sports even center now has upgraded with one and new basketball arena etc. a lot of semi suburban schools are going that way. Celina is now suburban with growth, Melissa the same in district with frisco and surrounding areas. So should our nearly suburban schools look to massively upgrade. Dayton, liberty, even Tarkington as liberty county is set for expansive growth. Bond infrastructure now or play catch up with portables. Just questions looking for opinions. Not trying to be political
  7. Do facilities matter? Seeing 4a ball clubs west of DFW in Stephenville,Godley, and Carthage in east Texas have do facilities matter. Either really nice stadiums, indoors, etc does the arms race matter. Lots of schools have nice stuff relative to size who are some others? Personally I think they do especially money spent towards practice facilities, weightrooms etc.
  8. Most non coaches look strictly at wins and losses however that is not entirely correct. there are many great coaches that are in situations where winning is extremely difficult and there are places where coaches don’t necessarily have to be great coaches but have great talent. To say any coach that is in a place that is struggling and saying they are bad coaches is not accurate. We are banging Cleveland pretty hard but I will bet their issues are more dna than program.
  9. This is at best a retirement pay builder of a job. Not likely to compete in a very good district. No top end facilities to attract talent. Tough gig but someone will take it be very happy and get compensated well.
  10. For most of those he was in 21-6a arguably a pretty salty league. Pretty certain that Beaumont isd did there football programs no favor with COVID policies. Fans calling for coaches heads because of not winning enough games. Guy at kingwood was 11-29 going into this year. Know in the playoffs sometimes patience is good. Think you need to give a coach at least 5. also I have no connection to the current staff
  11. While everyone blames coaches for not winning games etc. ask these questions are the kids playing hard, do they do things right, player development/ off-season. etc. sometimes it’s not the staff but outside issues, is the administration supportive, and other distractions. He might never be Todd Dodge but Dodge was under .500 before Southlake. Change staffs no guarantees
  12. Well I was wrong about this one anticipated close game not so much
  13. Means nothing for playoff seedings. Is this the year that summer creek will pass north shore and become the bell ow of 23-6a. should be a fun game. For pot stirring sake give me creek.
  14. So much of playoff success lies in matchups and health and don’t forget luck
