  1. I don’t think it would have been a bad ideal at all. The schedule didn’t give a bi-week in between games this year, that didn’t help either.
  2. He was horse collar tackled against OF and suffered a pretty bad ankle injury that he also re-injured the next game. At times he can barely walk out there but is playing through it. Oh and it’s plant foot for throwing. He is not able to play at the level he demands of himself. Lucky he didn’t injure it again against Hardin, which he didn’t play the whole game of. Don’t take away from him, he is everything that everyone says, but it is looking like his Jr year will be plagued with injuries yet still running the #1 offense in the district.
  3. Half time adjustments from the AP staff is what you can mark that win up to. Totally different team came out in the 2nd half.
  4. Worst officiating I’ve ever seen.
  5. The score wasn’t an indicator of how well Hardin played. Their offense is a lot like Orangefields from last year. That run attack that chews up the clock. I think Anahuac only had a handful of possessions in the 2nd half, yet gave zero scores up. It was a boxing match. With that, I haven’t seen OF yet but if they have the same offense as they did last year then AP will need to figure out how to stop that run attach so they can control the clock. If OF controls the time of possession, then I’m leaning OF.
  6. I hadn’t heard that yet, that true? If so I can’t wait to see how the offense meshes with a few games under their belt.
  7. I’m pretty sure it’s on NFHS network. Requires a subscription
  8. I will say this - they held them to 25 points while only putting up 15 points, they averaged +40 this year. Their main offensive weapon didn’t play and they had horrible play calling with only deep fade passes for the first half, zero run game. It was a strange game. OF piles up the yards but it easily could have been an AP win if they were playing with a full deck. That’s why I feel this is going to be an interesting game tomorrow night.
  9. Normally I would have zero hope for an upset but this AP team is just built different. They are healthy and have played well against ranked teams this year. It’s all on the defense, their offense will keep up as always. They have to make some stops. AP will be ready, this isn’t the only opponent they have faced who run that kind of offense. Orangefield does the same thing and AP lost to them this year. It was a strange game tbh, corbitt didn’t play and their offense was one dimensional - kept airing it deep with no ability to do play action. Didn’t try any mid level passes really, that loss was on the coaching not the players that game. I think they will be ready.
  10. They seem to have a very strong sophomore group. It’s arguable that their top tier players are all sophomores or freshmen - minus Rob Bailey and Corbitt.
  11. I expect it to be a good game. I don’t believe it will be a blowout whatsoever. AP needs to win this one for sure though. They are technically 3rd in district trailing EC so this is a huge game for both teams.
  12. It was nice having Corbitt healthy and balancing out the offense. If everyone is healthy I have to lean AP hard.
  13. I think it’s intentional to some degree. To show respect to the other team/coach. It would be very easy for this team to run up the score for stats but coach Neece isn’t that kind of guy. Better to lay off and limit injuries instead of padding stats.
  14. Nope. Wasn’t suited up either. They must be really saving him for playoffs. AP could not get anything going offensively without a run game. Orangefield shut that down. AP really needed #7 out there.
  15. Like warm milk
