  1. He probably already getting that much yearly, IYKYK
  2. That's what you said, nothing to interpret. Just stating facts about the ISD #s. Don't argue with me, argue with the #s. I referenced the numbers because of other people observation about participation #s were low. It's not about race but actual facts. When your school's majority demographic is from an ethnicity that traditionally don't play a particular sport(s), quite naturally the participation #s are going to be low.
  3. Not sure of the hiring and firing for the particular sports, I am sure she has her reasons and we may never understand nor agree. She get paid the big bucks to make those tough decisions. Let's be real, it's a demographic shift that is affecting the athletic program (yeah I said it). Somewhere near 2009 CISD was approx 60%+ Caucasian and now it's 37%, NUMBERS DON'T LIE. A quick Google search will confirm my number quote. Unfortunately, the population (now majority) that's moving to Crosby don't particularly play Football nor basketball. I included basketball into the conversation because last year the varsity lost both district games to Sterling. It will take anyone a while to find when the last time Crosby Basketball lost to Sterling. Point is, it's not just Football that is having a rough time. The problem is not just the Supt, if she is even part of the problem, It's bigger than her, when your best basketball player is a Soph and the HC's son, there is a problem. He is also one of the top WR. Not many HS not collegiate sports can thrive when the leading players are underclassmen. 2021 was an anomaly and should not be confused with the standards of the football team from year to year. That 2021 class had a lot of move-in kids, whole family moved here and not just an athletic transfer. Therefore, their results sort of skewed the football program expectations. The same for basketball, PJ Haggerty was a transfer and since his college departure the Bball program has been anemic, to say the least. This is not about transfers, but just to point the obvious in regard to move-in/transfer kids. The same for BH girls Bball, when C Collier transferred from Crosby to BH their girls program thrived. Haven't heard much about the girl program since (IJS). #maketransfersgreatagain (LOL) I try to not make general statements and state actual facts.
  4. First all Crosby will be a Sterling and GCM, even with subs. If you predict Crosby to not win a game, why would you give a coach another year. There is at least 2 D1 Players on this team (2, 11, 14). Last time I check Supt reports to the board. there is a check and balance system in place. The board ultimately have to approve the hire. Coach Willis and the coaches he hired are probably good coaches, but it may be a conflict on the system and players. The last 2 games #14 ran the ball like crazy, but previously he was in a WR slot primarily as a blocker. All you had to do is look at his previous game film and determine he is a RB. So perhaps there are some inept coaches on his staff or they had an agenda.
  5. It's funny that you should post his highlights. Seems like the coaches finally found a way to utilize #14. Sadly, it's 5 games too late and the season is practically over for Crosby. Just like you have medical malpractice, this is coaching malpractice (LOL).
  6. #14 strikes again, last 2 TDs for Crosby. Just a few series ago he was camping out in a WR slot position. You can’t make this stuff up, SMH! Crosby has a dynamic duo (thunder & lightning), but didn’t realize it.
  7. I wouldn't totally shut down the seniors, but the coach have to keep the program running. I say give those potential underclassmen some varsity reps. Case in point, seem like they have a Soph as the main WR. A 5A Div I team cannot survive when their top WR is a Soph. As many of you know, FB is won with upperclassmen and experience. This coaching carousel has not been good for the program. The bigger focus needs to be at the Youth and MS level, where the interest of players are garnered. As much as Crosby is growing it's a shame they are having trouble with participation. With that being said Crosby is growing tremendously, there seems to be a bigger issue at hand If it's indeed the coach son that's next up, that's asking a lot for a kid to assume the QB role next year without any varsity reps. Therefore you are gonna have more of the same, lack of experience where is matters most.
  8. Just to be clear, I don't know 14.2 nor have I met him. I just wanted to point out the obvious, because "fair is fair".
  9. Salute to 14.2 son #14, not bad for a "backup" RB. SMH, maybe the coaches should use them both. So this proves my point, he is a "pure" RB and is "playing out of position. Crosby vs KWP 23 Carries, 146 Yards, 1 TD
  10. In all fairness to 14.2, I would be frustrated as a parent too. Here is what I see, and this is only surface level. His son went from a “ featured” RB to a blocker slotted in the WR spot. He probably never lined up in the WR in his life. He is playing out of position, wonder how many other players are in the same boat. His son is a senior and had no opportunity to seek other options. He did what he could as a parent and met with the new coach and I would assume they came to an agreement to be a RB, but…… His son went from a player line up in the backfield to a slot WR. I can bet everyone on this thread would feel some kinda way too.
  11. Serious question: since it appears Crosby’s playoff hope is gone and things are dire, do they start focusing on next year? Should they start giving the underclass players some varsity reps, esp at the QB position?🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️
  12. RB is a tough position to stay healthy. Crosby have had a host of good Rzbs, but keeping them healthy has been a challenge. This RB #2 was out a little bit every year going back to his 9th grade year. He aggravated something against BH last week.
  13. Shiddddd, that dog ain’t gone hunt either🤣🤣. Basketball gonna be worse than football. Just like football, those kids don’t wanna play for Egans.
  14. I hope #2 Wesley Yarbrough will not miss any action, as he is definitely a big part of the cougar offense.
  15. SMH, the whole point was missed, Dunn was just used as a "true" example on how many kids can get discouraged about participating in an athletic program within an ISD. Never said he was not a great athlete. I personally know him as he, Duece, Rodney and NeNe have been to my home several times. Have they been to yours, probably not and probably wondering who the hell is Duece, Rodney and NeNe? You know the athlete, but I know the person.
  16. True about the 2 youth football leagues and the status quo at the MS. I said that earlier about how kids are turned off from football(and other sports too) long before they get to the HS. MS coaches should adopt this mantra: "all eggs are not hatched on the same day". Just because a kid(s) is considered average in MS doesn't mean he will not develop later and become a contributor. The term "late bloomer" exist for a reason. You said it yourself, there are a lot of kids walking around that could help the program. Some kids need more convincing that others. IMO, that's okay because every kid's motivations are different.
  17. Who said anything about recruiting, kids transfer all the time. Transfers are nothing new. the school and coaching situation needs to be attractive enough for them to consider going there. Crosby didn’t invent transferring 🤷🏾‍♂️
  18. How is it the Supt fault? To my understanding there was a committee involved in the hiring process, then the board had to approve it. How many board members voted No?
  19. Crosby middle school has been the problem for years and it has finally created a situation. It’s crazy that a football itch community like Crosby is having trouble getting kids to play. Hopefully with this new team there they can change things. Real story, in 8th grade class of 2021 #2 Dunn couldn’t even get on the field for offense at the QB position. He transferred into Crosby in the 8th grade and was clearly better than Crosby youth league QB. But the coaches were playing favortism to the Crosby youth league players. That QB they put over Dunn never played a down on varsity and got hurt in 2020. Dunn was mostly used to punt the ball in 8th grade. No he didn’t get better, he was the stud in 8th grade too, but Kenebrew had a different agenda. This is why Crosby got able bodies walking in the halls and don’t want anything to do with the athletic programs. If it was done to an instrumental player like Dunn you can only imagine what other instances exist. Sadly, the “fumbling” of the AD hire and the shifting of Crosby ISD demographics are gonna add to the already existing problems. Coach Willis is by all accounts a good to great coach, but not what Crosby needed “right now”. Crosby need a coach that can attract kids and reestablish the Football program. IMO, Coach Hurts would have been able to attract players. I keep hearing he not winning where he is at. In that district CV don’t even stand a chance to win, won’t matter who is the coach. Kids from CV, NS or surrounding area are not gonna come play for Coach Willis, and now with the state of the program kids in the district not gonna play. This is a sad situation for any ISD.
  20. You called it out perfectly, but hate for seniors like your kid.
  21. Okay, in 4,3,2,1 the finger pointing starts 👀. This loss is monumental not only for this season but beyond, kids are gonna mentally checkout. Apathy was already present in the school, now this……. This game/season will make it hard for kids to want to play and transfer to Crosby. Crosby is definitely growing, but any good athletic kid may not want to enroll at Crosby.
  22. Fit is everything and if this is ran as a business meeting this can have long term implications for Crosby Football program. This program have benefited from transfer of the neighboring high schools. When you having students not participate in their senior, I find it real hard for players to consider transferring to Crosby. Seems like someone might dropped the ball on this hire. One of what I said will fix the immediate problems, but just wanted to point out same things. Code Red got the QB they been wanting, got 2 stellar RBs, D1 MLB, etc…. This team have more D1 offers than the 2021 state contenders. The 2021 one D1 came from Branch, but that UIW offer came with his time in the neighboring district. 2 great coaches abruptly leaving a program is never a good sign. The community needs to demand some answers from the board and Supt. Just like any coach, the community is quick to turn on you when you are not winning. This is getting ugly real fast.
  23. We shall see, Crosby always seems to have BH #.
