I don't know how y'all do it in Chester, but at WOS, the goal is state. Yes, we've gotten to the regional finals the last 3 years and lost (twice to the eventual state champion). However, because we are WOS, state is always a part of our conversation. People can hate all they want. But I don't see another team on this site talking about state. They would rather hate on the WOS fans for talking about it.

Nothing wrong with telling the truth, but can you be told the truth?? Just a question to ALL.  I'm honest to my kids also, but every kid can't handle the way we tend to tell them(Tact) I had to learn the Hard way. I agree with VNUPE.....some of you need to stop promoting your boys on this website. No one on this site gives scholarships. Stop trying compare and figure out why other kids have offers, and use that energy to contact College Coaches and promote your boys to them.....Maybe you should call Deonte's Dad or Pj's dad and gain more knowledge about the recruiting process. I'm sure they would be more than happy to help.

I think this is the problem. Your question should be, "Can anyone give me some advice on how I can get my kid some offers?" It's not about who is better than who. Or "My son's Sparq rating is higher than yours." What's important is that your kid gets offered. Showing us how much better he is than someone else won't help you. I'm just sayin.

Dropping classification? Not sure what you mean by that. There will be a division I 4A and a division II 4A. The only difference is WOS will play schools with equal enrollment no matter who finishes where in district.You may want to research that one. Last year WOS played in division I and held their own against schools with larger enrollment.

I believe I stated that NOW the districts are divided by divisions unlike in the past when the division didn't start till playoffs. It's still all in one classification.

Deionte Thompson announced earlier that he is early enrolling at Bama. I guess that's good news for Silsbee and HJ basketball.

This young man ran a 20.76 to win the state 200 and also set the best time in the nation for this year. Dauphine, whose committed to Texas Tech,.is a deserving young man who works extremely hard.
Applaud this state champion if you will.

Isaac Aubrey at West Brook received an offer today from North Texas.

Me personally, I just try to keep it real as possible. I just watched a back go for over 6k career yards and probably go to Rice because it was the best program that offered. He averaged over 220ypg and about 12ypc against teams like SC, Dayton, Ned, KP and Elgin. Unless you're absolutely electric like Quizz Rodgers, Waymon James, Austin Walter, Jordan Stevenson, etc. you're probably not going to get major D1 offers. They'll take the bigger back over the smaller back every time with all else being equal. Bigger back provide a little more versatility when it comes to things like pass protection or special teams.

I have 3 sons myself and the oldest Lil'14 is 12. He's almost 5-11 and played 7th grade ball this year a little over 160 lbs. Some of the things I ask him to do on the field he tells me are awkward to him because he's so rangy. That's an excuse, telling him he won't play TE at Texas if he doesn't get big enough is a reason. We have discussions all the time about excuses and reasons and the difference between the two. Samual Stewart only carried the ball 37 times his junior year and had many offers after that season. Hopefully your son gets his offers, God willing.
