Running Clock starts 5 minutes into the second quarter at 48-0 Purple Figs!

Here’s the deal, no one wishes any player to get injured (especially kids), but let’s not kid ourselves into thinking that the entire team has played up to par. Coaching, special teams, offense and defense has been extremely awful and that’s putting it lightly. Call it what you want but the film doesn’t lie!

Newton has only been tested in the pre season. Their district opponents have not even been close to making games against them worthwhile other than Woodville (which was a cakewalk in my opinion). Sad but true!

So has the defense been hurt as well or the refs have been the deciding factors here lately?

Yes I was surprised how decent AS appeared to be. The amount of points scored on Woodville’s defense was alarming but hey…moving on

Woodville seems to self destruct with the unnecessary penalties and the defense appeared to have been uncharacteristically out of position, getting burned, etc which was odd. I can’t put my finger on what is going on with this team, but something has to change. Not hating, just calling it how I see it.

Yea I was just trying to predict the final score before it ended. Seems as if the Figs are meshing at the right time!

Would be nice if the Figs met up with Woodville in the playoffs but I’m definitely not holding my breath for Wville…

Newton certainly is the standard. Let’s just see if Woodville can get past the second round in this lower division. Good luck the rest of the way to the Purple Figs!

It’s crazy how one guy carries the entire team…actually, it’s 3A ball so it’s not too out of the realm of possibility!

I guess when you have a team like Newton, you only need 1 playmaker and we all know who that is

No one in their right mind will be surprised if the FIGS win, but I don't believe it will be an upset if Woodville wins. I honestly believe penalties and coaching (play calling, clock management etc) will be the deciding factor in this game which gives the advantage toward the FIGS...

Oh and to add to my perspective on this game, It would be a shame to not include the coaching...How will Woodville's coaching play a factor in the overall outcome? I'll save my opinions until after the game because if the past is a predictor of the future, WE ALL KNOW WHAT THE RESULTS WILL BE so what say ye!
