Trump..I'll wait & let the people speak at the polls. I hope America is not stupid enough to elect him, but you never know these days. I saw where the Dallas Morning News is backing Hillary. That is the first none conservative they have endorsed in 75 years. That goes back before JFK and all. That tells you all you need to know. I didn't know Quannel X used to sell drugs, but it makes sense. Malcolm did as well, but Quannel ain't Malcolm X. He makes a good sound bite on tv, but I don't pay much attention to him. I serve a God, Jesus, that conquered death, hell & the grave...I'd say more but I'll leave it at that.

For me a lot of those depend on the time of the game. Probably can't get to those scrimmages, which are usually held in the afternoon. That tournament game held just before Thanksgiving, hmm, that's not good. Last year it was on the Friday after which worked out fine. That tourney at 2nd baptist church...depends on the time. Silsbee is obviously well known & respected to be in that. Many of these games reflect that as well. The Woodlands playing in Silsbee? That's an indication right there. Silsbee vs LaMarque in LaMarque..This is a new year for both teams. Still should be a good game. Those top schools in Ft Bend will be tough in that Mo City tournament. Dallas ISD Coca Cola classic. Stomping with the big dogs. Take notes. It should be an interesting season.

American is obsessed with the legendary success of Michael Jordan. Now superstars from every sport are measured against Jordan. Even swimmers & track stars. Amazing.

Is the basketball schedule out?

Brownfield, D Lincoln and Silsbee in 4A. A lot can happen between now and February and March. It is hard to get a real feel for what and who are the teams to beat until the TABC puts up its first polls in October or November.

What time they play today? Although I got too much to do, but who knows I might show up.

I thought about making this comment, but I held back. I made almost the exact same comment a few years ago, and I ended up in a heated discussion with some of the good folks in Evadale.

Last year's QB Dontre Thomas is he still going to play at Kilgore? He seems to be still in Silsbee. Practice has started already.

So, is this the year Silsbee wins it all? I am talking about a state championship in basketball of course. The same question was asked last year, by me and others. This season could be it.

I hope this is true. Play Dallas Lincoln early. Find out what they are about, or whoever the best in 4a in Dallas is this year. If you can play some of those big dog Dallas teams as well. Forget about records and rankings. There is good competition elsewhere, but Dallas is mecca.

Who does Silsbee have transferring in?

Grayland Arnold should leave also, but it doesn't look like he will.

I was at that game. So I guess it was at the Montagne Center. I definitely don't remember the stadium. It was a closer game than 68 62. Silsbee started putting up desperate shots in the final minutes. Somebody shot a long corner shot that missed. That was probably the only Silsbee game I went to in the 90s.

Will Silsbee ever run out of Spearmans? Probably not. As for the rest, next time I am in that area, and I have the time, I am going to drive by the Montagne Center so I can see what it looks like. I don't know. I don't know what Lamar Consolidated looks like either. I know how Damien Bush played. He was good. Silsbee had two big, stout post guys. I've never seen Silsbee posts with that kind of height and size, before or since. I know how Steve Jackson played when he was a jr at Lincoln. He was mostly playing post. The fact that he later transitioned in to a three pt shooting small forward is a testimony to his versatility, and skill. I don't know who Silsbee's head coach was in '95, but if he agreed (which he didn't cause it never happened) to play a regional final against Lincoln at the Montagne center, then....he needed a kick in the butt. That's like playing in Lincoln's back yard. Which is why they played at the neutral sight of Deer Park High School.

Ahmad Jones. That was him. I used to go sunday school, with Oliver Jones, back when I went to church in Silsbee. I'm thinking there is a family connection. I spoke with Ahmad's parents at that game. We knew each other in high school, even before that. Never mind that 'many are called..' line. excelling down in those trenches is more than a notion. Glad to hear Ahmad is do his thing.

That ten man bench was nice. I saw Silsbee teams in the past that would run up the score for three quarters then the other team would come back. Silsbee would win, but only by 10 or something like that. I saw a Silsbee game in Mt Belvieu like that, against Cleveland (no, it was not in Beaumont at the Montagne Center). They had a 40 pt lead on them at one time, then Cleveland came back and almost made it a game. i think that was the same year Silsbee had a thirteen pt lead on HJ in the regional finals game, then lost. HJ went on to win state. Winfred Harper's son played guard on that team. He was good. They had a big football player playing post, (silsbee did). He went to Oklahoma state on a football scholy) Haven't heard from him since. Many are called, but few are chosen. That didn't happen this year.

Yeah, what happened to Sedrick Spearman?

Yep. I checked; I didn't see any games during the 2014-15 season. I follow the team every year on this board, but if you don't attend any games it is hard to really know and get a feel for the roster. It is next to impossible. They didn't play many games in the Houston area that I could attend. They blew out Scarborough in Houston area somewhere. That was on a Friday night and I don't go to games on Friday. They played Wheatley that following Tuesday in channel view. I had some car problems I was concerned about and didn't go. They then played Mexia and Houston Sterling in Huntsville, but I didn't attend those games either, for the same reason I didn't go to the Scarborough game. Silsbee had only one senior in 2014 2015, Michael Williams. No disrespect, but I do not remember him on the court.

This was a thoroughly interesting season. I enjoyed it all the way through. We didn't win it all but we finally got past the state semi final game. I enjoyed the seniors; gonna miss them. But sooner or later someone will step up. At the beginning of the season I was worried about replacing Chris Elam. If the state semi final game can be won, the state championship can be won also, one day. Hopefully soon. Maybe next year. Still a great season. Thank you.

My provider replayed the Silsbee vs D Lincoln game Thursday. Almost a week after the game. I was just watching it just a moment ago.

If Silsbee plays smart and efficient games against teams like Yates & D Lincoln will be taken care of. It can be done. Silsbee should schedule games with DISD schools as often as possible. Yates and FB schools also.

Somewhere there are archives and microfiche to back me up. I will do some research when I get the chance. I know where I was. I know what game I saw.

I saw one game and it was Silsbee vs PA Lincoln. The game started at 7pm and i made it in time to see the game. I was working the same type of schedule I work now. If that game was played in Beaumont I could not get there on time. I sat in the stands next to Herb Sapp.
