I'm not hyping Miller's youth or the team's prospects for the future. I am marveling how tough he is regardless of his age. Someone brought up basketball is a contact sport. But if the guy can't clear air enough to block a lay up let it go. Going to state is not worth maiming the opponent. That was a football linebacker hit. You can mess some one up for life like that.

The young man has had his share of injuries in football and now basketball.

Conferences 5A & 4A state semi final game at Delmar field house Tuesday. BU and Glenn at 5pm. Boerne & Huffman @ 7pm. Delmar is 6.9 miles from me. I know cause I worked 3 blocks from Delmar for 20 years. Hopefully I can get a ticket.

Did Miller play after the big hit er foul? If so he played with stitches & a broken wrist.

Some of those parents don't understand that it is a message board. Stuff from last season comes to mind.

I luv good shooting form. I can't do it, but I know it when I see it. And it doesn't just happen. You gotta practice your technique. Jacobs has obviously been working on his skills. Huffman is a well coached team. They may take the first game. It would take some CGI, or cinema veritae to pull off the 2nd. But who knows? The game mathematically has to be played.

If the secret service guy had not stepped in Trump would still be wandering around looking for his limo, which was right in front of him.

Silsbee needs...more presence in the middle. I’ll leave it at that. Maybe next year. Great season Silsbee! I wasn’t expecting them to go this far.

I knew when they hit those first 3s against JY sooner or later they were going to get 3 happy. They are not accurate enough to do that.

Even when Kountze was making noise in 2A & 3A basketball Silsbee was making noise too: going to the semi finals at state 2 or 3 times, producing all Americans, doing quite well against the bigger stronger teams in the area. It was not like Silsbee was a bottom team while Kountze was up.

I think they're from Nigeria. Could be from Cut and Shoot, I don't know.

Man some of these Hi Schools be dang near sneaking in NBA players and gettin' away with it, and you tryna make something outta nothing about Adams 6 years ago? Yates be pulling in 7 ft Nigerians. Every year they have two or three. Gimme a break.

Not overlooking this Friday’s game, just citing history: the region III team, Silsbee, put the hurt on region IV’s Somerset back in 2018. Things have changed since then of course.

One of the best teams Silsbee has ever had barely beat Argyle the year they played in the championship semi finals. That was just a good Argyle team. This year's team is considered one of their best. Argyle plays almost mistake free slow down basketball. If a running team can get a fast break against them they should consider themselves fortunate. But..why am I saying all this? The Tigers still haven't played Huffman yet.

The pandemic has had an effect on high school basketball in Texas, and probably everywhere else. Teams and players are not as free flowing as they used to be.

I saw Huffman play Yates in Kingwood. AAW was there. I saw Sigler. Jim Hicks was there. I think Yates had eliminated Silsbee a couple of days after that. That was Adams & McCain's Sr year. Bre Bush was a Junior. Huffman had this kid with an almost perfect jumper. Nice form, quick release. He was shooting lights out. He kept HH in the game, for the first half. I am sure that was Harvey. Yates had the real JY press & trap defense working. Silsbee had their big three & they couldn't do nothing with it. Huffman could not either. Yates had big, athletic players like Ruben Jones and others whose names I can't recall. At halftime it was a fairly close game. In the second half Huffman wasn't that accurate with their outside shots. Yate's press had worn them down. JY went on and cruised to a win. They had a short guy who hit some nice 3s as well. I sat with some Huffman students. Nice young men. I told them I was originally from Silsbee and we sat there and talked 4A, SE Texas basketball during the whole game.

The Silsbee Tigers are the only unranked team in the regional finals.

I got a mental pic of HH from the last time I saw them play. Sometimes too much swag gets in the way.

AAW was reading off the stats at the end of his broadcast on Texan Live. Silsbee out rebounded Waco Connally 38 to 36.
