  1. I think I've been to three of these in a row, maybe four. I will try and be there this year as well.
  2. Evil does not have a color. It never did. It never will.
  3. HISD is in disarray. Having a high school basketball team rise up to national prominence is seen as a positive by most administrators in that district. Most of the other schools have no choice but to go along.
  4. This is the 2nd time I've heard about this in the last 2 weeks. I heard it first from this young adventist pastor who posts a lot of stuff on youtube. I respect this guy's opinion. He always does good research whether it is the Bible, history, or current events. He puts out a daily video at noon every day. The caption on one of his resent video lectures was mandatory veganism.
  5. I've mentioned this story once before, something I saw. There was this black teen about 18 years, being accompanied by this older white lady. She looked and dressed like a professional of some sort. I work in a driver license office. She told me she was.a principal at a high school in the cy fair isd area and the guy was a football player for the school. She was helping him get an ID card so that he could go to a University in the SE, I think it was Missouri. I guess the kid was a good football player. He & I got to talking and I mentioned I was from Silsbee. That caught his interest because he told me he was really from Orange and that a season or so before he played for WOS. I asked him how he got from WOS to a school out in the Cypress area. He said he moved to the Houston area to live with his dad. Maybe that was true. More than likely he was recruited and transferred to play football for some high school in the cypress area. This indicates they can pipeline a student athlete from the small schools to anywhere they want him or her to go, all the way to a university. I wasn't totally surprised by this. I kind of figured it was happening all along.

  7. Baytown is within reach from N Houston.
  8. Silsbee will probably not have any height, unless they grow. I still remember seeing 5'8" freshman Devon McCain for the first Time.
  9. Wise & Yates are in the middle of a basketball crossroads. All kinds of b ball talent is flowing around there. Wise will catch his share. Still, Silsbee showed me that a small town with a good program can go up against anybody in 4A especially.
  10. This stuff runs in cycles, especially in small towns like Silsbee. Instead of making it to state a more realistic goal would be to win district and then making some noise in the playoffs. The whole Devon McCain era was great, magical even. Hopefully it will all fall together again in the future, but it won't be next season.
  11. Here is information on that.
  12. Revelation 20:9 King James Version (KJV) 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
  13. Thou shall not kill. Thou shall not steal, etc. Those are okay. The moment I mention the 4th commandment "Remember the sabbath day". the real sabbath day, all of a sudden I am a legalist, or so you say.
  14. John 5:22 \ "For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son,
  15. The hell you speak of is not a physical place that one could travel to. No need to travel to hell fire. It will come to you.
  16. Also, hell doesn't exist yet. There is no fire pit burning underneath the earth.
  17. Not for me to say. Jesus Christ is the judge of who goes to heaven or hell. Also, it depends on what you mean by hell. The Greek word Sheol, the root word for hell, also means the grave. So, many times when someone tells someone else to go to hell, he or she could actually be saying go die and go to your grave.
  18. facebook is just a vehicle, a medium. Some of it is bad, some is good. The link I shared is to a live event that is happening right now in Houston. Good stuff IMO.
  19. The same power that preserved truly redeemed christians also preserves the true sabbath day.
  20. So many denominations think Sunday is the Sabbath. So many can find mnute verses to back up. what they're preaching on, but they can't or don't want to find the forth of the 10 commandments, which, btw, is the largest commandments in terms of words used. So many denominations think Sunday is the Sabbath. Paraphrasing Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that appears (in somebody's mind) right but the end is death. If a person wants to know just look in the Bible. So many denominations think Sunday is the Sabbath.. I understand the reason some think Saturday is the Sabbath, but I’m just not sure that celebrating it on Saturday or Sunday is a game changer for God Eve didn't think doing contrary to God's commandments and going near the forbidden tree & its fruit was a game changer, but it was, to say the least. I can guarantee if you walked out on the street and ask 10 people, “What’s the first day of the week”, at least 9 will say Monday. People are so precise when it comes to Sunday, or Easter Sunday, or Christmas, but they are so vague and forgetful when it comes to the sabbath. And the sabbath commandment is the only commandments that begins with the word remember.
  21. WHY keep the Sabbath day? What is the object of the Sabbath? Who made it? When was it made, and for whom? Which day is the true Sabbath? Many keep the first day of the week, or Sunday. What Bible authority have they for this? Some keep the seventh day, or Saturday. What Scripture have they for that? Here are the facts about both days, as plainly stated in the Word of God: After working the first six days of the week in creating this earth, the great God rested on the seventh day. (Genesis 2:1.3.) This stamped that day as God's rest day, or Sabbath day, as Sabbath day means rest day. To illustrate: When a person is born on a certain day, that day thus becomes his birthday. So when God rested upon the seventh day, that day became His rest, or Sabbath, day. Therefore the seventh day must always be God's Sabbath day. Can you change your birthday from the day on which you were born to one on which you were not born? No. Neither can you change God's rest day to a day on which He did not rest. Hence the seventh day is still God's Sabbath day. The Creator blessed the seventh day. (Genesis 2:3.) He sanctified the seventh day. (Exodus 20:11.) He made it the Sabbath day in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 2:1-3.) It was made before the fall; hence it is not a type; for types were not introduced till after the fall.
  22. Will the Sabbath be the defining factor in ones salvation? Many believers who are God fearing and upright do not observe Saturday as the Sabbath as scripture clearly gives to followers of Christ. Here is a very straightforward quote from Ellen White on the matter. The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty, for it is the point of truth especially controverted. When the final test shall be brought to bear upon men, then the line of distinction will be drawn between those who serve God and those who serve Him not. While the observance of the false sabbath in compliance with the law of the state, contrary to the fourth commandment, will be an avowal of allegiance to a power that is in opposition to God, the keeping of the true Sabbath, in obedience to God's law, is an evidence of loyalty to the Creator. While one class, by accepting the sign of submission to earthly powers, receive the mark of the beast, the other choosing the token of allegiance to divine authority, receive the seal of God.{GC 605.2}
