How is Carter doing in this tournament?
-
Back then Skyline had a 6'4" to 6'5" combo guard who went to Kansas, Marcus Garrett.

That's what I was trying to say. The show video streams of games at the main field house, which are the semifinals and finals, something like that. Silsbee would have to beat Lancaster to get there. Maybe they are up to that. We shall see.
-
The season after Silsbee lost to Lincoln in the finals they played them again in this same tournament. Both teams made it to the semi finals and Silsbee won. Many of us watched it on computers. I thought it was the coolest thing. I think it was free too. I don't think Silsbee has played in this tournament since then, until now obviously. So I don't know if they are still streaming or not. I am assuming they are.

I think they wait until the semi finals before they stream the games.

Not taking anything away from Coach Boute. He's a great coach, no doubt. I'm not totally sure how many state championships he has; I'm thinking it is one, with Ozen. That team had one distinct advantage, they had a 6'10" 260 lb man child named Kendrick Perkins. No other team in 4A, now 5A, had a player anywhere close to that size. Lincoln had Bosh, but I am not sure he was around the year Open won state. As for the coaching selection and hiring of coach Green, that's a done deal. I am sure they did their due diligence and they came up with the best coach for the job. Hindsight is always better than foresight. One of the coach's biggest problems is he has to deal with this message board, because it gives voice to all the negative armchair ADs and coaches in the 409 area. He didn't have that problem at his previous job. -
Last year a coach at Center posted a picture of the basketball team being elated in the last seconds of their victory over Silsbee. I think it was a Center track coach. I don't remember his name. I think the caption of the picture was We just beat the # 1 team, now we're #1 and we're headed into the christmas break, or something like that. Later that season after Silsbee won the state champion ship a reply Silsbee tweet and photo showed the Silsbee team relaxing on the bench in the last minutes of their victory over Somerset in the state semi finals in San Antonio. It was a response to the Center tweet. It got its point across. I say squash the issue. No hard feelings, or at least there shoud not be any.

Silsbee vs. Cuero, 4A State Semifinal
Kountzer replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
Based on the youtube video of their last win Cuero is loaded with talent. Whittington, rb Love, big db # 3.. The qb can run and pass. Silsbee has a lot of big play talent as well. Ain't no sense in freezing up now. It won't be easy. It never is. but it can be done. -

WH beat Duncanville 64-63. Last year Lincoln beat Duncanville by 5 or 6 points, while Silsbee lost to Duncanville by 10 or more, If I remember correctly. Carter beat out Lincoln to go to SA, and Silsbee won state, again. What does all that mean? It means that it is a long season, and a lot of basketball has to be played. Still, that Dallas tournament should give some good clues as to what is going on. -

I see now. WH has played SC twice. They beat SC by 12 on 11/23, then SC beat them by 11 on 11/29. -

WH beat Shadow Creek by 12. I've seen Shadow Creek this season. I was impressed by them. Jim Hicks was suggesting SC is the best team in the Houston area a few weeks ago. (edit. Someone else said SC beat WH by 12, my bad). It is a long season though. Polls only tell part of the story. Silsbee was # 3 part of last season as well. A lot of people were acting like a 3peat was automatic. There are too many teams. Nothing stays the same. Some of those teams have improved a lot. WH is one of those teams. The season is still young. Silsbee still has a chance to do what they want to do. -
MY cousin worked in the garage of the building where the Houston Club is located. They sent him to IAH airport to give a ride to then Congressman Bush. This was way before Uber. Cousin said he told some colorful jokes. I saw President Bush up close, but I didn't get a chance to speak to him. He was getting he DL renewed. SS guys everywhere. There is a parole office next door. All those guys were getting off the bus and saw President Bush in his car. They were waving and he was waving back. I thought that was cool.

Wagner didn't look that good when I saw them around thanksgiving. I'm no expert though. WH is a beast. The districts games in that district, 12 4A in dallas I think, will be very interesting.

Silsbee was cold from the outside. WB has some good guards, and some big guys. Bouts utilized his teams’ talents very well. Devon quit shooting 3s and started taking it to the big guy # 32 for WB. That helped Silsbee put the game away. I got off early and drove to Beaumont from Houston. First time I’ve been to WB. This could be the only game I see in person this season, unless something opens up in the playoffs. Better to have a cold shooting night in November than in February or early March. -

This was just game three. Silsbee probably won't see BU again this season. Coach Green is still learning what he has. Coach Sigler is still learning about this season's team. Long season still ahead. It should be interesting. -

I put in to leave work early on the 27th, Tuesday. I haven't seen any confirmation that it was approved. I would hate to drive hwy 90 from Houston to WB only to be turned down at the door. -
Never say never.

Wilmer Hutchins is in the same district as Carter and Lincoln. From what I've heard WH has as much talent as the other two teams. That is the toughest 4A district by far. A lot of 6A and 5A teams couldn't hang in that district. Coach Sigler seems to know all this. That is why he has his team play a tough non district schedule. -

I listened to hoopinsider podcast on periscope when they went over possible 4A playoff teams. That is where I first heard Argyle had changed regions. Winning a 3 peat will not be easy at all. We will deal with that when it comes. Bush can get his shot anytime he wants to, and he is accurate just about anywhere in the half court. He has a drive and a will to win that I've never seen in a long time. If he and everyone stays healthy and he is on his game there's a good chance for the 3 peat to happen. -
