CYPRESS HOOPS INVITATIONAL/Post updates here!

I'm a Silsbee fan, I grew up in Silsbee, but I live in Houston. I've been here a minute or two. I saw that Yates game with Houston Christian. Yates got a long bench, about 17 players suited up. Yates guards were fouling and mugging HC pg Sahvir Wheeler like he was walking down Scott at 2am with money hanging out his pockets. Sahvir made Yates pay with a bunch on long backdoor passes for easy layups. The refs let em play. Will they call a closer game in the playoffs? Probably. Silsbee got some good guards. I think they can handle all that. I plan to watch some more Yates and Houston b ball games. Much easier to get to than Silsbee games. We shall see. -

No, that was Waxahachie High School, the same team that made noise in this CyHoops tournament. They were ranked # 1 or # 2 in 5A then. Same this year. -

If we can get Bass back. He's listed at 6'3". Have him and Barnes in the post. The outside shooters, Jordan, Bush get their eye back. K'drain will hit a 3. Landon has a smooth pull up mid range game. Devon keeps doing what he does. It should all come together. All the way to and thru the championship game in SA? Ion k. We shall see. -

Bass, that's the player that is injured. I hope he heals properly and gets back. -

Last year the team, the town and all alumni were frustrated. We wanted that ring. The team wanted it bad. Everyone had a chip on their shoulders, a 50 year old chip. A lot of those seniors last year were on the team when they lost to Lincoln in SA, and to Houston Sterling a year before that. Those seniors were all alpha dogs. They went after steals, rebounds and loose b balls like piranha fish. Silsbee had both WJIII and K Barnes underneath. They didn't have an overwhelming presence in the post, but it was enough to get the job done. Like Jim Thorpe said from here on out it will be interesting. -

I agree. Last year's team was a monster. I was trying to hold back on saying that. Maybe this team will put it together and play just as good or better. So far it's not happening. -

The football players played against Westbury Christian and that was the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I was at that game, and I remember seeing them. The guard for Westbury, Charles Smith IV drove the lane and threw down a monster jam, with Will Jones III standing underneath. It was a poster moment. The DISD tournament was later, in December. The full team played against Wax. -

That was the full team (Silsbee) that beat them last year. When they beat Wax last year that's when I knew they could and would go all the way. -

You are a serious Silsbee Tiger fan is you watch them vs Northshore instead of watching that Denton Guyer vs Westlake rematch at the BC. -

I wasn't expecting that. -
I'm thinking Wagner vs Denton Guyer will be a good match up.

cy falls in the hot Cy school. Cy Lakes was up there when Fox was still in high school. I'm thinking Silsbee is competitive with any of the rest. Klein schools, I don't think Silsbee could handle Klein Forest. Spring: I don't think Silsbee could handle Dekaney and maybe Westfield. Aldine: Ike, Davis and Nimitz are tough teams. All this is speculation: I could be blowing smoke...at the Smoke. lol
-
Silsbee should handle Cy Springs like they did Klein Collins.
-
That's what I was thinking.
-
better showing than last game, as in the last time they played Wagner a few weeks ago.
-
68-45, same thing.
-
No posts in 17 minutes. That's means a beat down is taking place.
-
Silsbee would have to be on top of their game all around to beat Wagner. If they shoot poorly turn the ball over, miss FTs it is not going to happen.

BADSANTA may be posting on facebook. Those scores are probably being posted on twitter. -
I wish I could go to that game, but that's not going to happen. Friday is the busiest day at a dps office, at my office anyway. Plus, i looked out the back door and it is a winter wonderland. At least 3 inches of snow on the ground. I am sure many of the roads are iced over. No telling what's going to happen today. My dog doesn't want to go out in the back yard. She doesn't know what snow is. TBH I am not that familiar with it myself.

Thanks. Anyway, I got to see a full Tigers game. With the way my schedule and their schedules go i might not get to see another game in person until the playoffs, if then.

Two games in two different gyms. You could walk back and forth between the two games. All for $3.00. Not bad at all.
