I hear the Hoopsgiving basketball showcase is moving to the new Delmar Field house from the TSU gym. Should be interesting. That's at least four months away. I don't like looking that far ahead.

Over the years I've known or heard about several people whose lives were messed up because they got caught with a few joints of weed. Now it is legal in certain parts of the country. The irony did not pass me by. I don't condone the use of weed even if it is legal. Everclear is legal too, but it is still not a good thing to use.

I work at a DPS office in N Houston. I've been there 15 years. I worked for another state agency 13 years before that. Not the best paying jobs. In life u get out of it what u put into it, but I digress. The young students come in with their parents and I quietly type in the information for their permits and IDs while they stand there. Awkward moments. Now when it is a Cy Falls student I bring up their basketball team and the conversation takes off. I mention Silsbee won state in basketball also, and they don't know what I am talking about. i understand. With that said a Silsbee vs Cy Falls game would be must see for me. There was another guy from the Cypress area. I mentioned Silsbee and he brought up the Argyle game. He said that was the best game he saw during the playoffs. That was one of the better talks I had in a long time. I am looking forward to next season.

Media coverage has increased significantly for the Silsbee boys basketball program IMO. Everything from the close win over Argyle, to the championship win. The return home was covered, several celebratory crawfish boils, official recognition by the SISD board & by the city council. Even the ring ceremony got some air time. I've seen more Silsbee tweets, by people who used to not notice this team. More Silsbee youtube videos. Those videos would probably not have seen the light of day had they not won it all. Finally got to experience what the other side of a state championship feels like, the cool side. Football is still the # 1 sport. I'm not into Silsbee football that much. I hope they have a good season and that injuries a kept to a minimum. Can't wait to see how the next basketball season unfolds. It is too early to get hyped about that now. Have to wait until at least the autumn. It should be interesting.

I saw Stokely Carmichael lecture at TSU in the 80s. I wasn't totally enamored with his beliefs and practices, but I definitely know who he was.

Police work is hard work. I could not do it. They make mistakes as do we all. Much respect just the same.

I'm no expert, but sharing what I know: there are 3 basic interpretations or schools of prophecy: historicism, which is the oldest, most reliable and most logical, futurism, and prediterism. Historicism is the only true way to interpret bible prophecy. It will show you among other things exactly who or what office is the antichrist. The other two schools were created by the antichrist to throw people off their tracks, so to speak. Historicism interprets the 2nd beast of revelation 13, at revelation 13;11 to be the USA.

The guy, Philando Castille was complying. He told the officer he had a concealed hand gun and a license to go with it. He told the trigger happy, now fired, officer he was reaching for his ID. And he still got shot and killed. The officer was acquitted. i was expecting that. The journalist did their usual character assassination: " oh he only had a minor criminal record, mostly traffic tickets". They just wanted to plant that word criminal in the media. It is the same pattern. it is almost cliche. That's why I don't drink or get high. I'm groggy enough from insomnia & not enough sleep. You driving around and get pulled over, they ask for ID & u don't give it to them you're in trouble. They ask and u reach for your wallet you're still in trouble, possibly shot dead. It is a no win situation.

The Philando Castille tragedy re enforced something I have thought for a long time. And that is concealed carry rights are mostly for white people. If you are carrying a concealed pistol and you witness a robbery. If the police show up and you got your gun out they are going to shoot you. And they will say they told you to drop it. All the "conservatives" will buy it hook line and sinker, because that is what they want to believe.

The two horned beast of Rev 13:11 has once again showed the universe its true character.

I only worked 8.5 hours today. I've been working 9 + hours every day. I hear they may lay off 108 full time workers, perhaps this summer. You can call it getting laid off or you can call it retirement. If I get laid off I may go work p/t somewhere. I work at a DPS driver license office.

I think eating shell fish, catfish, crawfish is a sin. The first sin by man or mankind had to do with food. It also had to do with not listening to what God says to do and not to do. Pigs, shrimp, crawfish, catfish, etc they all have some thing in common: they are all scavengers. They eat poop and dead animal waste. The creator had a reason why he said not to eat them. That's my $.02 on the topic.
