  1. I knew God was a WO-S fan... thanks for confirming that. 8)
  2. I always played defense more than offense, but I always had an offensive mind. Meaning, when I wasn't in the game on offense, I would always study the defense and try to figure out which plays would work.
  3. I think it's probably accurate. From what I hear the Tatum kid is really as good as the hype. Tatum has generated some big time athletes in the past. You've gotta love the name too. Classic East Texas. I think he ranks #1 for RB names with Noel Devine a close second. 8)
  4. ahhh... but those teams won with defense, not offense.
  5. I'm not basing my opinion by what some publication, who probably never saw the kid play, says they are ranked. I base it off of what I've seen with my own 2 eyes. Earl plays for a 3A school and goes both ways. He did not play defense full time last year as did Wells. He was not able to pad his stats. I did see both play this summer and Earl by far out shined Wells. Wells got roasted by a 3A team. Earl played nothing but 5A and NEVER got beat. Earl plays like he's pissed all the time. You can't teach that. Wells has all the tools and is an OUTSTANDING DB. I just do not feel he has the same tenacious mentality that Earl does. This is MY OPINION ONLY.
  6. It'll be interesting to see who the "odd man out" will be in this district.
  7. God bless this child. Under God, we are all one community.
  8. Tatum is in East Texas and they dropped to 2A.
  9. I totally agree with your first paragraph and totally disagree with your second. Antiquated offenses will only hold you back. I'm a golfer and I'm not going to buy a driver that was made in 1985 and try to compete in a long drive contest with it today. Advancements keep everything moving forward, I believe that includes offensive styles.
  10. No... but he can throw that football over them mountains...
  11. Did you actually graduate from BH?
  12. Just FYI, that neighborhood is called Rose Lawn. I grew up in that neighborhood as did Griff, Andrew and Daniel. Why did you guys move back to the Hill?
  13. 84-0 WO-S over Lincoln.
  14. I saw a post one time where you said you lived in Orange once. When was that and where did you live?
  15. oooooooohhh... nice comeback! You really got him on that one.
  16. Knee, ankle, wrist or elbow?
  17. You know I'm in!!!!
  18. At WO-S it's 3 on 3... the kids go nuts over it. It really gets them fired up.
  19. It's really hard to compare the 80's with today. Along with the fact that kids are naturally bigger and faster, you have other factors that really didn't play into it as much in the 80's like steroids. Don't kid yourself folks, this is a much bigger problem than people will want to admit. Steroid use is a big thing now with high school kids. Now this is not intended to point fingers at any team in particular, but it is an undeniable factor.
  20. OK... the votes are REALLY 15 votes to 19 for WO-S. But Jody, tell the truth, you've been calling all BH fans you know to come on here and vote for BH, haven't you? They jumped by 8 since last night. I know this is your doing...
  21. This IS going to be a game scrimmage. It will be a full 4 quarter game. The only difference will be that there will be no returns on kick offs and punts. They will be dead where the ball is fielded. It will be as close to a real game as it gets. Hooks believes in these type scrimmages because it not only gets your players into game shape, but it gives you a 12 game season instead of 10 which is valuable around playoff time. By the way, I accidently voted for BH so you actually only have 6 votes. As for the game, I really don't know what BH has, but I can say that WO-S will be tough. They will be better up front on both lines. The O-line will be experienced and BIG as will the D-line. We should be able to compete...
