He plays in the slot on offense. Also moves into the RB spot in Cobra.

It's Zigler

Looks like the WOS-O is going to be pretty solid.

You talking about Raymond Mallett? If so, I know he can play. I didn't see the scrimmage last week, but if he was on the field, his presence was felt.
-
Should be a great match up between he and Hunter.

It went about like I figured it would. Offense ahead of the D at this point. "Blown coverages" means the secondary "needs work" just fyi. 🤣 I like seeing the quick passes in space and letting our athletes be athletes. The new QB has a quick release with accuracy which is vital for those type of plays to work and has been missing the last few yrs. Downfield passing will have to get better, but I believe that will come. If we can spread the ball around like that we'll be hard to deal with. Not that worried about the defense. The PNG offense is pretty dynamic and is a tough assignment for a young D. You know they'll be where they need to be when it matters. T and Pierce will get the pieces in place. Thought it was a good dress rehearsal for both.

WOS needs a QB. They are loaded otherwise. -
This is a great topic. I believe there was a time that defense won championships. I do not believe thats the case any longer. 4A and up teams that win consistently have polished offenses and disciplined defenses. I believe the change started when Stephenville started dominating with average talent and an outstanding scheme. They emphasized the offense and were so good at what they did that they could score on the most prolific defenses (like LaMarque of the 90's). Carthage is another example. Carthage had a great defense this year but they still win even when they don't have the best defense because they are so dynamic on offense. Defensive minded teams typically lack on the offensive side. These days, no matter how good you are on defense, you will eventually find someone dynamic enough to score on you. When that happens, you better be good enough to outscore them. Quite often, defensive teams can't win a shoot out. Offensive minded teams are used to it. In a nutshell, I think the model now is a prolific offense and a defense good enough to get a few stops.

Looks like this will be the first time in 10 years we'll actually get our Christmas tree the day after Christmas like the wife likes to... -

They just looked like they weren't ready to play, mentally. Im sure that had a lot to do with the "make shift" line. Not having the usual horses up front can have a mental effect. Sad thing is that this was our best shot at a title for a while. Yeah, we have some players coming back but they'll have to assume different roles. Zeigler will go to QB and he'll do a good job, but this means he'll no longer be the utility guy he's been out of the back field. His ability to run and catch in the slot and out of the back field will be missed. On defense we'll lose 3 of 4 defensive backs and both our stud LB's. This was "the year". Its a dang shame it had to also be the year of covid. It always seems like, if something like this is going to happen, it's going to happen to us. -
Gun, if you haven't been to a game this year you better keep yo self at home! You know how "mojo" works...

Thankfully! Thats why we're dangerous. I hope the boys play with a chip on their shoulder Friday since there are a bunch of non-believers around. Its time for some folks to take notice.

Not intended as disrespect. It was a response to someone downplaying the capabilities of the WOS backfield. No doubt Limbrick is talented as is Andre. Andre is a good kid too. We hated to see him leave. Both talented backs as are the WOS backs. The WOS kids just don't have the gaudy numbers because we also have great WR's. And a QB that can spread it around. But make no mistake, Gayles and Shaw would rack up those numbers in a different system.
-
Gayles and Shaw both average 10 yards a carry.
-
The Jasper RB's are not better than Elijah Gayles. He doesn't get the yards that Limbrick did because WOS has many weapons that they use. Andre Thomas played at WOS until his Sr year when he went to Jasper. He was a slot guy here, not even a RB.
-
We heard the same thing last year after Bellville put the stomp on Jasper. What they did to Jasper has no bearing on next weeks game. Jasper has proven, again, they can't get the job done in the playoffs.

Congrats Livingston! Now, don't be satisfied... Go make some more history!

I'm still around... lurking in the shadows...lol

And they were worn out. Not many kids on the sideline.
