I stole this from another board, but it represents my sentiments regarding some of the comments made here toward Skip. This guy said it better than I could have... Stanford holds Oregon to only 14 points and wins in overtime 17-14. This is the Oregon that has dominated the west coast teams and put up a lot of points all year. My real message to the Navasota's, Stephenville's, West Orange Stark's, Carthage's, LaMarque's and all the other teams still in the playoffs---A true champion plays every down of every game like they are the underdog. It is alright to be confident if you back it up with the way you play. Being cocky is believing that you can't be beat. There are a lot of teams that have players with special skills, but only a few that get the most out of every player on the team. Practice with pride, play with pride, but win or lose with class." ...and to add to it... We as WOS fans have witnessed our own "Baylor vs K-States": 1990 #1 WO-S (10-0) loses to CE King (4-6) in the first round 1998 #1 WO-S (10-0) loses to Silsbee (6-4) in the first round. A team we had shut out earlier in the season. Everybody has their own opinions, but respect should never be confused with a lack of confidence... Those who think it is don't really understand one or the other... JMO

Yes the field is in bad shape right now, between the hashes as AAW said. BUT, I know it's not from a lack of effort. That stadium crew they have there are on the ball and very helpful. Gotta be the best or one of the best with taking care of anything you need, stadium wise, as any I've ever seen. They should be commended.

WOS 8th "A" and "B" finished the season 8-0 and 6-0.

Again, he played the whole game last year and the result was a 20-6 loss. He played 70% of this game and it was a 30-12 loss. ONCE AGAIN, he is a great player, but he does not make up the difference. WOS is just a better TEAM! WOS wins that game even if he is in great shape and played every single snap, punt, kick and return... it makes no difference...

They got the ball on the 50 after a short punt... After the play he was hurt it was 3rd and 7. They never had a sustained drive all night. He broke two long runs and that's it. So no, he wasn't the difference, like I said earlier. He wasn't last year and he wasn't this year. He is a great player and I pray his injury wasn't serious.

First let me say that Mike J is an outstanding player. There is no question there. But, him not playing after getting hurt late in the 3rd had no bearing on this game. He was playing when silsbee fell behind 22-0. He did have a couple of great runs that resulted in TD's. but other than those he was held in check and had several runs for loss. Silsbee punted 5 times WITH Mike in the game. Again, great player, but this game was never in question.

30-12 final in the 8th grade game.

It's pretty rough...but it is what it is. We both gotta play on it.

Great venue!! Wish we were playing that close!
