Great game, back and forth until late in the game.
So HF 8th grade will go undefeated in district
The Stallions played great and have improved every game this year. Silsbee has talent and are a good team... Don't count our win as a win for HF, Silsbee is more than capable of beating HF. Especially, if they find a way to contain King.

That won't either...lol ;D -
Slim to none. They would have to beat CS or WOS lose to Silsbee AND HJ. Dont see either happening.
I have to agree, King is by far the most athletic kid on the field week in and week out. He can score at any moment of the game, esp. when we gets into space, kinda like that punt return. But not to take anything from how good he is, that group of kids is by far one of the best teams I have seen in a very long time. He gets alot of help from a big offensive line, some already weighing over 200#, and some really good players in the other skill positions. The defense on this team is no push-over either, with a huge D-line and a secondary that doesnt give up any big plays. The weakest point on defense is the line backers and that seems to get better each week. These boys play as a team and compliments each other. I think with the move to 2A next year with a return of a great rivalry between HF and EC, you will see alot of good football in the next few years!!!!!
HF turned in 533. Not going to get you into 2A... -

This game will not be close. Coldspring is the best team in Regon III, hands down.

BC still plays coldspring?? Jw!
The way I understand the tiebreaker to be, if BC, Silsbee and WOS end up tied at 4-1, Silsbee goes DI and WOS would be DII #1 seed based on their head to head win over BC. Points would not come into play in this regard. Points came into play last year because there were 3 teams tied at 3-2 (BC, Orangefield, Silsbee) and only two playoff spots left. (WOS district champion)
That is correct, AAW. Win or lose, if WOS beats HJ then they are the DII #1 seed due to head to head with OF or BC, whomever ends up in 2nd. Now, if WOS beats Silsbee and OF beats BC again, then you'll have the point situation again. If Silsbee is knocked out by that, then you will have BC as DI, but then OF will be the DII #2 seed. I really hate situations like this because it almost behooves BC to lose to OF and get the DI route and avoid Coldspring in the first round. The same thing happened with LaVega a few years back, and it wound up being the right thing to do because they wound up in the state title game in DI.
Well, if it comes down to a 3 way tie with BC, Orangefield and Silsbee, then consider Silsbee in the playoffs. Between those three teams, this is what the points look like right now: BC +6 OF -8 SIL +2 In order for Orangefield to get in the playoffs (this is assuming Silsbee loses to WOS and defeats HF, BC defeats HF, Orangefeld defeats HJ) they would need to beat BC by 7 points or more. A 7 point win would give them a -1 point total and give BC a -1 point total. Silsbee would get one of the playoff spots with their +2 point total, Orangefield would get the other with their point total tied with BC at -1 (head to head win over BC). BC gets in with a win over Orangefield or a loss to the Bobcats by 6 points or less. Silsbee really only has to beat Hamshire-Fannett in that last week to get in the playoffs. Their point total assures them of a playoff spot in a tie with BC and Orangefield.
True, I hadn't looked at it that far.
Silsbee hasn't played their best ball yet! I'm hoping this week they do. They only game I saw was Newton and for a full half, Silsbee played very well. Penalties and INT's have been a thorn to kill some drives.
The same can be said for WOS. And if I were a betting man, I would bet that the Mustangs are beginning to believe in themselves again. Even with several backups and even a backups, backup, they still found a way... Starters will be back next week...
i hope renfro and lynch are back next week!
Renfro was suited out, but didn't play. I hear it may be a while for Lynch. Jeanise also did not play and Beasley played sparingly. I was proud of our defense for playing the way they did being so banged up. They hung in there. BC played a great game as well. They hit a few big plays on us, but the defense stepped it up when it counted. Good luck to BC. Gonna be a tough draw first round, but crazier things have happened.

I saw the new uniforms and helmet stickers that the Booster club got for the junior high kids and they are nice. These kids have been needing things like this and it's nice to see people who truly care about these kids to take their time out and raise money to get them some nice things. These kids work hard and they deserve it...all of them.
I will agree with you 100% on that, proud. The parents and The Merlin Broussard family have worked their tails off to provide new things at the MS and I know it is very, very much appreciated by the players AND the coaches. -

Prior year's teams like Silsbee and WOS would use their skill guys on the long deep ball, throw it up. BC has defensive backs that kept Silsbee from the deep ball, will have to do the same with WOS.
Just as soon see WO-S not go deep.We aren't very accurate on the long balls.
But, they are still necessary. Completions or not. -
