1. That one play went for 70...
 2.

Well, he wasn't going to be the OC under Coach Thompson so the writing was on the wall so to speak. BTW, I think you know my sister Kim Rose (married to Darwin Brack).
I just met her this weekend. I disagree that the writing was on the wall. He always intended to leave if he didn't get the head job. Those words from his mouth to my ears. He told me that right after he applied and long before any decision was to be made.
He told me the exact same thing. In fact, we spent, literally, hours on the phone with me trying to talk him out of it, but he had his mind set. He had logical reasons why he didn't want to stay that, in the end, were hard to argue with, but the bottom line is he was not staying if he didn't get the job. Period. I love Toby, he is as much Blue and Silver as Coach Thompson and I HATED to see him leave. But he had his reasons and ultimately, you had to respect his decision, but they were made LONG before the head coach decision was made.
 3. I hear the same thing.
 4. Check your PM's please.
 5.
im very surprise with the reaction of some of our mustang fans...were are 3-3 on the year and 1-0 in district...so the sky is not falling...of course we are having offensive issues...but what everyone needs to understand is change is never easy...we lost a coach who had been at wos for 30 years...u dont just replace someone like that overnight...cornel thompson is a great coach and i beleive he is the right man for the job of the mustang head coach right now.. but he is not dan hooks...that era is over..wonderful memories of that era but its over and we have to move on. if we just keep living in the past we will never see in the present and  what we have to work on right now...coach hooks had some pretty first tough years at wos too..my parents tell me how when we went 3-7 in 83 everyone was ready to run coach hooks out of town..but he persevered and thank goodness the school district didnt get rid of him...also new OC, toby was a great offensive coordinator but he has moved on to another school...regardless of the circumstances as to why he left..he is not at wos anymore and thats the bottom line..we have to move on also... i think, IMO, that the mustangs are just going thru some growing pains with all the changes...its unfortunate but we have to go thru them..how we respond to the pressure is what will decide if we are going to continue to be great or just become like any ordinary football team out there...give cornel thompson a chance to build on whats already a great program and give him a chance to  leave his own mark of greatness that we can be proud of when we look back in the years to come.
Well said, Big Love!!!
 6.
WO-S is not going to beat every team they play 50 points...That's just the way it is...JMO..Good Luck on the rest of your season..
Ahhh yes, and the voice of reason rings through! Good post!
 7. They were looking at his ankle during the game...
 8. Hopefully, we will have Jeanise, Beasley and Lynch back this week.
 9. Very true, in all 3 of our losses we outgained our opponents. In Giddings we nearly tripled theirs and still lost by 8. Stats are for losers, period... Scoreboard baby!
 10.
Grammer check anyone? ;D ;D
Ummmm... don't you mean Grammar???? LMFAO
 11. The key is our offensive line. They just aren't playing well and haven't been. Even last week against K-Ville, we had success throwing, but never really established anything on the ground and if 43 isn't in there we do next to nothing. People talk about schemes etc, but our offensive line has only one kid back from last season (and this year he is playing both ways) and they are still struggling to find their identity. Every game it seems they are playing in different spots trying to find the right fit. No matter what offense you run, if you can't block you aren't going to have success.

Wo-S must have a pretty good little 7th grade A squad..
Yeah - and how do you feel about the WO-S 8th grade squad?
The WOS 8th grade team isn't bad and are getting better. Last night the score was 24-18 late in the 3rd quarter. To my knowledge, HF has run away with every game this year. That QB is freakish for a kid in MS. Besides, whats wrong with him just mentioning the 7th grade, anyway? A few years ago I remember a whole bunch being said about Silsbee's 8th and their 7th not getting much mention at all. And that 7th grade "B" score was actually HF's 8th and 7th combined.
 13. The kicker was Rodickson Cano, also Freshman.
Well I will say this, do not think it will be a blow out by Silsbee.
No OF turned out an impressive win on Jasper. And I being at Silsbees practice today. I assure you Silsbee is not taking this lightly and shouldnt.
I don't see how anyone could even consider taking OF lightly. They've lost one game to a team that would probably beat anyone in this district. I think it will be a close game decided by 7 points one way or the other.
Well not trying to take away from Orangefields game but they did lose to Buna also 21- 14
Oops, forgot about that one... Lose to Buna then beat Jasper by 10... :o I still think it will be closer than the Tiger fans think.

 16.
There's nothing wrong with Jasper that a little stability in the coaching revolving door won't change. No program can with stand the number of coaches and systems in a few short years that Jasper has had. Parents need to back off and quit second guessing what is going on. The new coach came from one of the proven winning systems in Texas. Give him a chance to implement some of this system.
+1
 17. Stud!! Give him the ball 30 times a game and watch the wins start coming.
 18. The more the two of you post, the more your motives become apparent. Don't take the lack of people replying as some sort of "win". It's more that they know the real reason why you are here. One thing I will agree with you on though, we have some great coaches in the Lil Mustangs! I pray they never lose sight of what got them where they are.
 19. [Hidden Content] The Leader has the stats 282-205 with running clock in the 2nd half.
 20.
I did not come watch this game. I want your honest opinion from Mustang fans. Do you think WOS able deep in the playoff? Since I heard that some people think that they are not strong or Mustangs way anymore. I prefer that I will trust and listen from Mustang fans. : )
It all depends on where you finish and who you draw in the first round. But, WOS showed their explosiveness last night in the first half. Really depends on whether r not we keep improving going forward. The potential is there, but they have to keep working.
 21.
Score was lopsided by halftime alright but Chron shows a close game by stats WOS w/10 1st dwn-272 tot yds 20/64 rushing yds-KV w/239 tot-8 1st dwns-41/147 rush KV w/5-2 fumbles and a int-WOS w/2-1 fumbles.
WOS shut it down in the 2nd half... Had well over 200 yds in the 1st half. Didn't even throw a pass in the 2nd half. A Kville fan even saw that it could have been worse. Stats can be decieving and I would much rather the stats be close and the scoreboard not. We "out stated" all 3 of our losses, but the scoreboard is the only thing that matters.
 22. This is actually my post from last year: Last Thursday: WOS 8th- 12 Jasper 8th- 8 WOS 7th A- 8 Jasper 8th A- 20 WOS 7th B- 34 Jasper 7th B- 0 ;D
 23. Not sure if that was a mistake in wording or his memory is clouded, but he is definitely incorrect. In fact, I went back and looked and the 7A was the ONLY team that won that night. 7B and 8th grade both lost for Jasper.  ;)
 24. I agree, that's why I'm thinking they must intend for him to play. Could be wrong, though.
 25. I don't know about Jimmy, to answer your question. But I do know Chase, and if anyone could do it as a Freshman, Chase could. That don't mean he won't struggle at first, but he won't be one to be "happy to be there", if you know what I mean. He's been involved in highly competitive situations all of his life. I think he will handle the pressure, the only question will be can he handle it physically. I think he can, but you will never know until he gets out there.
