He make makes that team go.
Kenrick is a special player, but without Kendrick that group would still win their games convincingly.
I absolutely disagree with that statement.

It would be awfully hard to argue against that, wouldn't it? Very tough schedule. At least they will get some relief in district. -

So those are the 3 schools in pull for. WOS, LCM and CCS. Good luck to all three. In closing my brother was a high school coach and if the HC/AD wants you the approval by the school board is a formality.
You win. Your mind is made up and it is and will be as you perceive it regardless of the facts. Therefore you must be right.
No, I don't win. But yes after talking to several people in the community of WO-S I'm not the only one that has these questions. (Or how I perceive the facts.) I haven't stated anything bad about the program and you're the one taking this personal. Coach Thompson is a great coach and like I stated before went out of his way to help a family member who didn't even attend WO-S. Finally, like I just posted WO-S, LC-M and CCS are the schools I follow and want to win every game. (since WO-S and LC-M) haven't played in at few years excepted a scrimmage I haven't had to cheer against WO-S. Good luck against Orangefield.
I'll add one more thing, a fact is a fact, it's not left up for "interpretation" or "perception". It is what it is. You can't "percieve" a fact, something is "percieved" a certain way due to a lack of facts. Which is what the many you speak of are doing. The problem is that, even when presented with facts, many are still going to "percieve" it the way they want, not because their aren't any facts presented, but because they choose to ignore them and would rather live with their "perceptions". ;)

21-3A Strength of Schedule/records
BC with the least difficult schedule? Isn't their only loss to a very good Vidor squad who just happens to be 4A?
We are 6 games into it. One good team doesn't make a tough schedule. -

BTW, I think you know my sister Kim Rose (married to Darwin Brack).
I just met her this weekend. I disagree that the writing was on the wall. He always intended to leave if he didn't get the head job. Those words from his mouth to my ears. He told me that right after he applied and long before any decision was to be made.
He told me the exact same thing. In fact, we spent, literally, hours on the phone with me trying to talk him out of it, but he had his mind set. He had logical reasons why he didn't want to say that, in the end, were hard to argue with, but the bottom line is he was not staying if he didn't get the job. Period. I love Toby, he is as much Blue and Silver as Coach Thompson and I HATED to see him leave. But he had his reasons and ultimately, you had to respect his decision, but they were made LONG before the head coach decision was made.
I am still holding out hope that he will come back as the OC while Coach T is still at the helm. The sooner the better!
I am not trying to wish anyone out of a job. The OC position is filled at this point. But, if it were to come open in the future, I would love to see that happen as well.

WO-S at Orangefield Predictions

...and you can just about bet that, by the end of next year, we will have 10-12 returning the following yr because most of the open spots will be filled by Sophomores next year and maybe a couple of Sr's will lose their jobs to a couple... ;) -
Easy, a lot of the starters on D, including LB Daniel Woodson, LB Joe Lynch, DE Colin Janice, DT Jerquis Beasley and DT Dylan Brackens are all juniors. On offense some of the notable underclassmen are Salter at QB, Jamarcus Rhodes WR, Larry Sonnier WR, Brackens on OL. That is 10 from a Katy Mustang fan and those closer to the victiny can probably add to this list. Gasilla is no Kerry Cooper.
On defense you can add LB Elvis Hubert (Jr), CB Quinton Tezeno (Jr), SS Tevan McDonald (Jr). Woodson is now playing defensive end and Brackens is actually a Soph. On offense you can add C Austin Rutledge (Jr). -

I maybe off a little on the offensive side... Might be more like 5. But I can name the defense... That's what happens when you start a bunch of Sophomores... ;) On defense we lose: Gilmore Renfro Lucas Jenkins is starting right now, but when Beasley (who is a Jr) comes back he wont go both ways. So that makes 7 or 8, right? -
Thanks you as maybe some of my psychology classes paid off. That is my whole point. He was leaving because he knew who would get the job if he didn't. Do you guys honestly believe everyone on every coaching staff in the state of Texas is buddy-buddy. No, there is a reason he was leaving WO-S but not for some position coaching job that is not near the class program that WO-S is. Didn't his dad retire too?
Actually, no he didn't know who was getting the job. And I'm not going to post on this message board the man's reason for leaving, but I will tell you your assessment is wrong. There is no point in speculating, I spoke with the man, you didn't. The argument is pointless...

WOS by 14
Thats a bold statement to make considering WOS not a powerhouse this year. I've seen them play Kirbyville and next year WOS will struggle the way we are doing this year.
I would have to disagree about WOS struggling next year, I've been watching what they have coming up not to mention all the underclassmen on this yrs. team I believe they will be as good or better.jmo.
Ok we'll see thats just my opinion.
Well, I will only say this. In the two games played a couple of weeks ago between WO-S and Kirbyville, WO-S won the games by a combined score of 108-7. If this was done by a school that is "not a powerhouse", Kirbyville has a myriad of problems that will not be helped by a drop into the current 10-2A-I!
And don't forget about the combined 69-6 the 7th and 8th grade teams put on them.... -
im very surprise with the reaction of some of our mustang fans...were are 3-3 on the year and 1-0 in district...so the sky is not falling...of course we are having offensive issues...but what everyone needs to understand is change is never easy...we lost a coach who had been at wos for 30 years...u dont just replace someone like that overnight...cornel thompson is a great coach and i beleive he is the right man for the job of the mustang head coach right now.. but he is not dan hooks...that era is over..wonderful memories of that era but its over and we have to move on. if we just keep living in the past we will never see in the present and what we have to work on right now...coach hooks had some pretty first tough years at wos too..my parents tell me how when we went 3-7 in 83 everyone was ready to run coach hooks out of town..but he persevered and thank goodness the school district didnt get rid of him...also new OC, toby was a great offensive coordinator but he has moved on to another school...regardless of the circumstances as to why he left..he is not at wos anymore and thats the bottom line..we have to move on also... i think, IMO, that the mustangs are just going thru some growing pains with all the changes...its unfortunate but we have to go thru them..how we respond to the pressure is what will decide if we are going to continue to be great or just become like any ordinary football team out there...give cornel thompson a chance to build on whats already a great program and give him a chance to leave his own mark of greatness that we can be proud of when we look back in the years to come.
Well said, Big Love!!!

WO-S at Orangefield Predictions

Very true, in all 3 of our losses we outgained our opponents. In Giddings we nearly tripled theirs and still lost by 8. Stats are for losers, period... Scoreboard baby! -
The key is our offensive line. They just aren't playing well and haven't been. Even last week against K-Ville, we had success throwing, but never really established anything on the ground and if 43 isn't in there we do next to nothing. People talk about schemes etc, but our offensive line has only one kid back from last season (and this year he is playing both ways) and they are still struggling to find their identity. Every game it seems they are playing in different spots trying to find the right fit. No matter what offense you run, if you can't block you aren't going to have success.

Wo-S must have a pretty good little 7th grade A squad..
Yeah - and how do you feel about the WO-S 8th grade squad?
The WOS 8th grade team isn't bad and are getting better. Last night the score was 24-18 late in the 3rd quarter. To my knowledge, HF has run away with every game this year. That QB is freakish for a kid in MS. Besides, whats wrong with him just mentioning the 7th grade, anyway? A few years ago I remember a whole bunch being said about Silsbee's 8th and their 7th not getting much mention at all. And that 7th grade "B" score was actually HF's 8th and 7th combined.
