1. I doubt he would be up there and not play. Look for a back up role and some spot duty tonight with an increase going forward. That is just speculation, but they already had a back up on the varsity to begin with. I just don't see this move happening if the intent wasn't to get him on the field.
 2.
Last yr Jasper swept with the 7a winning 20-6.  This year I'm predicting a blow out by the Jasper 8a, they have the potential to score 30+.....
Jasper swept what??? They didn't win the 8th grade game last year.
 3.

wo-s freshmen - 52, Kirbyville-0....Good luck Chase Rutledge on being promoted to varsity
What do you know about that possibility?
Griff, it's a done deal. He's been practicing with the Varsity all week.
 4. Your posts are just ridiculous... isn't by saying that we have a tough schedule saying the other teams were better that night? Your argument is as stupid as your contradiction was.  :o Kids? Who is blaming kids? That's just ignorant.
 5.
I heard there is two ways you win with seniors, either with them or without them!  An old athletic saying.  This thread needs to die
I agree. People are starting to get to long winded. I'm having to read hondo1's post in shifts because I can't pay attention to it long enough to read it all at one time... lol
 6. skipper, that is YOUR opinion and you have stated it very clearly. I think everyone (kinda) respects your opinion, but dont be like the other cry babies and expect everyone to agree with it. At some point, you gotta let it go.
I agree completely. For the life of me, why 1-3 is a complete surprise to some is beyond me. Anyone with a clue should have known that this was a possibility. Heck, I even posted on another site that it wouldn't surprise me if we wound up 1-4 because I expected Kirbyville to be the typical Kirbyville. We probably should have won every one of those that we lost. We’ve got correctible problems, but I know cornel will get those lined out. You have to realize, though, that there are some lurking around with an agenda. No matter what happens, they are going to blow it out of proportion. Not even realizing that all they are REALLY doing is hurting the kids by creating dissension. The kids are very keen on what is happening in the community.
Did I miss something or did you guys play the World Champs? Friendswood is currently 2-3 (Lost) and Jasper is 2-3 (WON); the other two teams are good teams but you lost; just sounds like a bunch of excuses.  I can remember many great WOS Teams that would never have blamed the kids, blamed it on a "tough" schedule.......WOS has played much more brutal schedules than what they currently have. Paratrooper, are you bi-polar or do you regularly talk out of both sides of your neck? Aren't you the same "Paratrooper" that is on the 3A board and are you not the same person that posted this above? Looks like even you REALLY know we have played a tough schedule, looks like you are just here trying to push buttons... busted on the contradiction there pal. ;)

 9. That is correct. The Mud Bowl in Silsbee.

 11. It's obviously not synapsing with you the difference between a coach and a cry baby on a message board, is it darling?
 12.

I'm not real sure what all the drama is about because I missed the last quarter of the game on the radio while going out of town. Don't have a clue as to what Coach T said or implied. But here are a few things that I do know: 1. Regardless of their pre-season record the district title goes through WOS, PERIOD. I don't care what the "homers" say. If you don't believe they are the dominant program in the area just look at how many threads get started by other schools about "who wins when they play WOS". You rarely if ever see WOS starting a thread about playing Silsbee,BC, or any others. You can not like it all you want but you do have to acknowledge the fact. 2. Yes there are some growing pains going on in Mustang country but they are still very, very, dangerous. 3. The district race will be a good one. Silsbee is talented and coming into their own, BC has as much talent at all the skill positions as anyone, and WOS has a ridiculous defense that is capable of shutting anybody down. 4. Giving credit where credit is due the WOS pre-district schedule was borderline suicidal compared to many others. That's just a fact that's hard to deny. 5. If WOS does not implode from within or from pressure from the faithful they will continue to be the one team everyone else in the district is chasing. If you don't believe that one I bet you a cold drink each team in the district has their date with WOS circled on the calendar. To be fair I would imagine that WOS has their eyes on the other top conteders as well. I look forward to seeing how it all works out. Good luck to all the teams. Rake1
Totally agree with this, 100%.
Me too, good post Rake1.  ;)
 13.
I smell a district title!
I smell some false sense of security... :)
 14. I honestly think Silsbee and BC both have a shot at beating WOS. But, I also believe that neither are as good as the teams that have beaten WOS. Nor do I think either have played anyone comparable to the teams that have beaten WOS (and won) with the exception of Newton and that maybe a stretch.

Inquiring minds would like to know...  ;) :)
YEP!! Seen both play this year. Silsbee is better.
Wow!!! There you have it, folks!! AAW has thrown it out there!

 17. You have to admit, even if you were never a WO Chief or a PNG Indian, when they get that beat going where it's just the drums pounding, it gets you going... It always has for me, that beat is just nasty. When we would play PNG and they would play it half the guys on our sideline would be bouncing to the beat.

Just sayin'
I heard the interview a little while ago. He talked about some players being selfish and not being team players. Personally, I think they should play it again on the loud speakers at practice so everyone can hear it because he was right on the money. Ridiculous to accuse him of throwing someone under the bus. It's motivation and is absolutely necessary at times and this is one of them.
Well it should be looked at the same way when the coach is being criticize because he's not getting it done. Some of you are such hypocrites. You guys never think it's justified to criticize the coaches, but have no problem criticizing children. If the kids can't get it then it still goes back to the coaches. These same kids had no problem getting it last year.
Are you calling me a hypocrite? I haven't said a thing to you about your little rants. I think people are freaking out for no reason and that's my opinion. Am I not entitled to my opinion? And besides, who is criticizing children? I'm not and neither has anyone else. Cornel Thompson criticized the attitude of some of his players which is his job to do, he is the coach. He is not a whinny complainer on a public message board. Surely, even you can see the difference.
 19. I've been in or around the program since the early 80's and I can't remember anyone named Owens, ever.

 22. They def played "Cherokee". My mother used to tell me when I was playing that she found it hard to pull against PNG when we played them because the song brought back memories for her and she was a WO graduate.

 24.
Boo hoo Coach T demands perfection. Is this the first year you think Coach T has said these exact words? Heck I bet he has said something along those lines after a blowout win. This being an issue is the biggest non issue I have ever seen.
My sentiments exactly.
