2. They gave up 42 points to Angleton without their stud from last year. The may struggle some defensively. Offensively, they have that stud RB back, but a new QB and new O line. They are young, but will still be dangerous.
 3.
I appreciate everyone's opinions on here, and I want to thank the guys that make this site possible, and a big shout out to Mike Sanchez for coming on my show on Friday night. Now, as for my "agenda", or whatever some of you want to refer to it as, I'm not quite sure what that is, and if you know what my "agenda" is, please, let me know. Now, I'll tell you what I do know. I covered W-OS in 2007 as a reporter for the Enterprise, and I've followed the Mustangs on and off since. I've covered high school football since 2005 in four different states - Texas, Ohio, Missouri and Kansas. I know how passionate the fans are here, and West Orange Stark's tradition is as good a tradition as I've ever seen. I admire and respect that. I have absolutely no ill will towards Coach Thompson, never spoken to the man, and from all accounts, I've heard he's a fine man and a fine football coach. I've also had the opportunity to speak with Coach Foreman, and from all accounts, I've also heard he's a fine man and a fine football coach. Not to mention he's a helluva track coach to boot. That said, IN my OPINION, and let me say again, my OPINION, and that's what these message boards are all about right? Airing and expressing our OPINIONS? I feel that Coach Foreman would have been the BEST man for the JOB. Plain and simple. That is not a slight on Coach Thompson in any way shape or form. Granted, it was one game, and perhaps I'm jumping the gun. But I also know that I saw a very average offense that has playmakers - and if I'm wrong, please let me know - basically go on cruise control instead of putting the game away, the defense was on the field an awful lot in that second half and it showed in the fourth quarter. Granted the secondary blew some assignments, but I digress. W-OS should've won that game. For all the Coach Thompson supporters, I'm not against Coach T. And if the Mustangs turn around and win lots of games from here on out, and Coach T proves to be a great coach and the dominance at W-OS continues, then I'll have no problem saying I was wrong and my hats off to Coach T. But in the meantime, please don't tell me or others what my "agenda" is or that I'm "bashing" Coach Thompson simply because I don't think he was the right hire. Because truth be known, if he does prove to be the "right" hire, everyone on this board will let me know it, and I'm fine with it. But if he doesn't, and W-OS struggles, and in a year or two when the Mustangs are looking for another coach and wishing they hadn't let Coach Foreman get away, I'll probably be able to count on one finger the number of people that say I was right. But for the Mustangs sake, let's hope I'm not. Thanks again, I appreciate and enjoy the discussion, and tune in every Friday from 6-7 pm for Sports Talk with Fred Davis on 1300 AM here in Beaumont. Spirited discussion is always welcome. Enjoy your weekends.
Sorry "THE" Fred Davis... I did not know who you were. It is my opinion that your opinion is incorrect. It is also my opinion that a person of the media is being very wreckless making a post like this after one game. It is also my opinion that you don't know WOS as well as you think you do. Have a great day!!
 4.
we have to get AWAY from the I!!! if we run the pistol/spread we will be fine, we remain hard headed and continue running what doesnt work we will be one and done come playoff time!  i thought part of the reason we started running the I was to give our defense more of a break yet it seems its having the opposite effect.  this almost seems like an ego thing for whichever coach that decided to start it... let it go!!!  JMO
Venom, we did not run out of the "I" after our first series of the game last night except for a couple of times when we had our backs to the goal line.
 5. I have to say, with the exception of some missed tackles on just a couple of plays, I was extremely impressed with our rushing defense. They were giving up NOTHING for most of the night. We usually give up 2 here, 3 there, but they were getting 0, -1, -2, 0. Were it not for the 2 big runs off of missed tackles, I'm fairly certain they have neg rushing yards. We gave up a few big plays which hurt, but it is correctable. I'm excited about the potential for this defense.
 6. Yeah, I think Mr fred has a definite agenda...
 7. I'm shocked Ned had that many yards. The Mustang D kept them bound up most of the night. Four big pass plays and 2 big runs were about all they had offensively. Unfortunately, it was enough.
 8. Congrats Ned! Hold your head up Stangs, you played well. There is going to be a bunch of complaining about some calls, I can guarantee, but the bottom line is when we had Ned 3rd and 11 on their own 30. We hit the fullback in the backfield by 2 players but we don't wrap up and he bounces off and goes for 40 yards, then you are leaving it to fate. If we make that tackle, the game is over. Hard to believe we lost that one.
I was wondering the same thing.  The home side in the shade would sure be nice in this heat!
My understanding is the WO-S is the home team.
Maybe Coach T will be nice and let us Bulldog fans have the shade.  If it gets too hot I may have to take my shirt off, and it would be in everyone's best interest if I didn't.  :D
LMAO... funny!!!
 10. Yes, he is a great athlete... Not very tall, but very quick and throws the ball well. Will be a good fit for the PNG offense. What I find humorous is that I spoke with the same kids dad last year and he was complaining about how the Mid County schools were poaching all of their talent at HF...  :o ;D
 11. So, PNG got the kid that was the QB for HF 8th grade last year?
 12.
20 yrs in WO, 35 yrs in Ned. Best team wins, no injuries.
Best 20 yrs of yo life, huh admin? ;D

They would prob win district every year like they did when they were in 20-4A.
Really?  Because they sure in the heck didn't do it since Central have been in the local district since 2002. Mater of fact, they missed the playoffs as well.

We were in 20-4A from 1986-2003 (18yrs) of those 18 we were Champs or Co-Champs 10 of those years. We were only in the district for 2 seasons once Central dropped. Both of those we were 8-2 and missed the playoffs both years due to tie breakers. We went 1-1 against Central during that span (we are 8-2 vs Central total).

Correction: definitely champs 9 of the 10 yrs... this is WOS I'm talking about, not Nederland...

 16.
Come on Gas/Griff, can't a guy say, hey made a mistake, but know when I've made it without saying it?  Get off his case, I think he's owed it.  Plus, he had Sampere that year when he went to it, let's not forget how that first 3 qtrs went, had to have you a little enamored.  Then Bellow and Salenga ruled the roost, not too hard to believe. It ran it's course, now we back to business.  End the discussion, game back on for the Dogs, in a big way.
BIG is the key... ;) ;D
 17. I'm wondering how their personnell has changed?
 18. Well, we get a good preview of this "potential" match up in a few weeks!
