I will say that it was legible enough to know it was either/or for the year. And, "black out" is not an accurate description. They knew when it needed to be addressed and it was. There was no wrong doing by anyone from the district, past or present. They were on top of it and they handled it, plain and simple. All of you folks wanting an investigation need to go see the DA. There is NOTHING for WOCCISD to investigate.
I am not sure I understand what you mean by "they knew when it needed to be addressed"? I was understood that Cornell only found out about it last week. If you say "they knew", well shouldn't this been addressed even before two-a-days?
The people that watch that stuff, I don't know what you call them. They brought it to his (Cornels) attention. School is not in during two-a-days, is it? Again, what differnce does it make, AAW?
You have hit the nail on the head... It wasn't a district employee that falsified the doc... The doc has been in the district for a looooong time... When it came time to be relevant, it was questioned and the right thing was done... Some of you are horrible at reading between the lines...
I never have liked reading between the lines just say it like it is. If no district employee falsified the document then the district is off the hook but who DID falsify the document?? mom, dad?? someone did an incompetent, unethical, or illegal act----the first two don't bother me but the last one does
The world is full of those kinds of acts everyday. I suggest you go on an unethical act crusade... LOL  ;D It gets to a point, like Ryker said, where somethings are just not our business. As long as the school did nothing wrong, then you should probably just drop it, or conduct your own investigation. ;)

 5.
Sorry, I was referring to a current/on going incident incident where an AD from a 3-A school ruled an incoming 9th grader (attending a 4-A school) ineligible for varsity and the two have never met ;)
You're talking about the HF kid going to PNG, huh? At least he is just a Freshman. He is good, but I doubt he would play varsity anyway.
 6.
Do we really need the smoking gun at this point??  My respect for Coach T has grown 110% in the past few days.  My hats off to him for cleaning things up.  Its not going to do any good to point fingers at this point.  The bottom line is the that the guilty party is no longer part of the program.  Whether it be the student, the parents, or the previous administration (which alot of you are alluding too but scared to just come out and say it) it doesnt matter because none of them are associated with the program anymore.  Again, hats off to ya Coach T, the kids and that program are lucky to have you on board now and you are without a doubt the right man for that job.  kudos!!
I agree with 100% of your post. I would like to add one clarification. It has nothing to do with the old regime.
 7.

[Hidden Content]
???
Question#6 on the 2nd page is the biggie! And for those who are asking about why he can't play this year when he enrolled last Spring. If question #6 is not checked "no". Then the student has to sit out 1 year from the date he enrolled to play varsity sports. This would make him elligible after the season.
 8. That would probably be a better question for him as I tend to agree with you. Maybe, he got some bad advice along the line. I've also been informed that the transfer rules for the UIL pertain to the overall TEA rating, not that of 1 campus. The rating for the district is Acceptable. So I guess the transfer rule does not apply.
 9.

Probably because he transferred for athletic purposes, like the form asks.
Well actually, that is not exactly true (at least cannot be proven). Because the WOS High school has an unacceptable rating from TEA, it's my understanding that students can transfer out of that district. With this being his senior year and he moved to Beaumont to a 5A school from a 3A school, it would be hard pressed to prove he moved for athletic purposes. But, I do realize that it could be the case that you have mentioned, Gas.
You could be correct about that part AAW, I really am not sure how all of that works. But, as for why he REALLY moved, was absolutely 100% for athletic reasons.
 10. Probably because he transferred for athletic purposes, like the form asks.
 11. I think that is more Cornel giving the kid the benefit of the doubt. You would hate to think that a kid would lie to you about his age. Especially one that is typically a very good kid.
 12.
Deleted by admin
If WOS was so full of BS then why did they declare the kid ineligible? Remember, he didn't play when he was 20, he played when he was 19... it happens a lot. If you don't want your lil bro playing against 18 and 19 yr olds then better tell mommy and daddy not to let him play on the varsity as a Sophomore. ...and I'm sorry, but there is nothing to "play out". The kid isn't playing, when he did, he was eligible to play. And, it's absolutely RIDICULOUS for someone to insinuate that this situation had anything to do with Dan retiring.
 13.
Recent changes have changed my pic to FW winning :-X
We haven't had JT all year...
 14. Stardt, you are trying to make this an issue with the school. AAW is not. AAW, I agree with you, but that is another ball of wax that don't need to get plastered all over this site. All that matters is that WOS found out in time and did what they needed to. The rest really doesn't matter at this point.
 15.
WOW...so my 15-yr-old son, who was a sophomore last year, was playing against a 19-yr-old!!???  No wonder why WOS has been on top for so long.  I'm just wondering why it took so long for it to come up this year.  Last year should have been it for him, and those at WOS knew that!!!!
Last year WAS it for him... So what's the problem? And if your son plays varsity, I'd be willing to be he's already played against a 19 yr old or two this year. It's way more common than you think. And as for you comment about WOS knowing it, they had no idea until Friday... I'll leave it at that.
 16. BC defense about to get exposed.
baddog, you just described most (not all) Ned fans for the last 5 years...
I was wondering when you would join this party. I used to think you were one of those select few that thought your opponents never won. I have since been convinced otherwise. If we lose, I find correctable mistakes, but still give credit where it is due.
I have never been one of those... It disgusts me when others do it to us and I find it equally disturbing when some of our fans do it to someone else. Bad calls happen and are as much a part of the game as injuries, that's why you handle your business so you don't leave things to chance. We didn't handle our business Friday and Ned made us pay. They always have and they always will. Furthermore, there are a bunch of these players who read these boards and hear these adults whining about being robbed by the officials creating a victim mentality in themsleves and the kids, completely losing any accountability for what happens. When you lose accountability you stop developing as a player and a team. When that happens you cannot improve. JMO
 18.
He was run out of Palestine because he was determined that the running back was going to do it Thomson's way. Team cratered. New coach came in and let the RB back on the team and ADRIAN PETERSON led them to a state championship. I give him a couple of years and then he goes the way of Clayton at Ozen.
Ummm... Palestine has not been to a state title game since 1964. The best AD did in HS was 2 or 3 rounds...

 20. They gave up 42 points to Angleton without their stud from last year. The may struggle some defensively. Offensively, they have that stud RB back, but a new QB and new O line. They are young, but will still be dangerous.
 21.
I appreciate everyone's opinions on here, and I want to thank the guys that make this site possible, and a big shout out to Mike Sanchez for coming on my show on Friday night. Now, as for my "agenda", or whatever some of you want to refer to it as, I'm not quite sure what that is, and if you know what my "agenda" is, please, let me know. Now, I'll tell you what I do know. I covered W-OS in 2007 as a reporter for the Enterprise, and I've followed the Mustangs on and off since. I've covered high school football since 2005 in four different states - Texas, Ohio, Missouri and Kansas. I know how passionate the fans are here, and West Orange Stark's tradition is as good a tradition as I've ever seen. I admire and respect that. I have absolutely no ill will towards Coach Thompson, never spoken to the man, and from all accounts, I've heard he's a fine man and a fine football coach. I've also had the opportunity to speak with Coach Foreman, and from all accounts, I've also heard he's a fine man and a fine football coach. Not to mention he's a helluva track coach to boot. That said, IN my OPINION, and let me say again, my OPINION, and that's what these message boards are all about right? Airing and expressing our OPINIONS? I feel that Coach Foreman would have been the BEST man for the JOB. Plain and simple. That is not a slight on Coach Thompson in any way shape or form. Granted, it was one game, and perhaps I'm jumping the gun. But I also know that I saw a very average offense that has playmakers - and if I'm wrong, please let me know - basically go on cruise control instead of putting the game away, the defense was on the field an awful lot in that second half and it showed in the fourth quarter. Granted the secondary blew some assignments, but I digress. W-OS should've won that game. For all the Coach Thompson supporters, I'm not against Coach T. And if the Mustangs turn around and win lots of games from here on out, and Coach T proves to be a great coach and the dominance at W-OS continues, then I'll have no problem saying I was wrong and my hats off to Coach T. But in the meantime, please don't tell me or others what my "agenda" is or that I'm "bashing" Coach Thompson simply because I don't think he was the right hire. Because truth be known, if he does prove to be the "right" hire, everyone on this board will let me know it, and I'm fine with it. But if he doesn't, and W-OS struggles, and in a year or two when the Mustangs are looking for another coach and wishing they hadn't let Coach Foreman get away, I'll probably be able to count on one finger the number of people that say I was right. But for the Mustangs sake, let's hope I'm not. Thanks again, I appreciate and enjoy the discussion, and tune in every Friday from 6-7 pm for Sports Talk with Fred Davis on 1300 AM here in Beaumont. Spirited discussion is always welcome. Enjoy your weekends.
Sorry "THE" Fred Davis... I did not know who you were. It is my opinion that your opinion is incorrect. It is also my opinion that a person of the media is being very wreckless making a post like this after one game. It is also my opinion that you don't know WOS as well as you think you do. Have a great day!!
 22.
we have to get AWAY from the I!!! if we run the pistol/spread we will be fine, we remain hard headed and continue running what doesnt work we will be one and done come playoff time!  i thought part of the reason we started running the I was to give our defense more of a break yet it seems its having the opposite effect.  this almost seems like an ego thing for whichever coach that decided to start it... let it go!!!  JMO
Venom, we did not run out of the "I" after our first series of the game last night except for a couple of times when we had our backs to the goal line.
 23. I have to say, with the exception of some missed tackles on just a couple of plays, I was extremely impressed with our rushing defense. They were giving up NOTHING for most of the night. We usually give up 2 here, 3 there, but they were getting 0, -1, -2, 0. Were it not for the 2 big runs off of missed tackles, I'm fairly certain they have neg rushing yards. We gave up a few big plays which hurt, but it is correctable. I'm excited about the potential for this defense.
