1. I dont believe that for a second! I had no report at all that he was injured Friday.
On the 10 or 12 and driving.....I loved our chances. Yes we lost, Gas, how is that selective? I had bad seats and it happened to be in range of my yard line. Had it been a lateral, I'd be the first to say they made the right call. Besides, I'm not the one who brought this up. Hopefully we can get you in some punting situations.  :D
By selective, I mean you say it like if it wouldn't have been a TD for us it would have been one for you... LOL. You still had a lot of work left to do had that call never been made. ;D
Yes, it was actually at the 22 and it would have brought up a 3rd and 10 against the best defense in 4A that year. Not saying Ned wouldn't have scored, but if I were a betting man... ;) ...and there is no doubt it was a horrible call. I personally don't think it canged the outcome, but I guess we will never really know.

 7.
skipper IS GOING TO EAT MY WORDS.i put my foot in my mouth a couple weeks ago by saying wo-s has no running game and the OL needed work bad.i did not make the dayton scrimmage but was told the kids relly did not look all that bad .21 points put up by dayton were put up on big plays, you that were there can tell me diffrent if this is not true.dayton has a great program there and are one of the best teams around these parts and great coaching.ok back to wo-s running game lol,was sitting with a long time vidor fan and long time friend and belive me he knows all the ends and out of high school football.vidor is not as big as thay have been in the past but dont back down from no one he said about this years vidor team and he likes that.we were watching very close the little running back there from west orange stark and glenn nicknamed him  walter payton jr becouse of his moves and very  hard to bring down and glenn said if wo-s can give the QB time to put the ball  up to his skilled WRs its going to be a long night for alot of teams.if some of the true blue nederland fans can remember last years game the wo-s QB is not all that bad of a runner himself    PS sorry for the spelling
Dayton dominated the LOS against us... we looked bad. Garrett had no time to throw and we could not run the ball. The defense played well until late in the first half when they ran out of juice because our offense went 3 and out so much. Then when we did get down inside the 10 a couple times they fumbled. Anyway, you can't expect the defense to be in shape after a week and the offensive line, although large, is where our inexperience lies on offense. Only one of them started every game last year and the center spot started when jordan was injured. The rest were on JV so no surprise that they got beat up on by Daytons big experienced front. Probably good to see such a talented bunch out of the gate, beause they may not see a better front again this year. They looked much better against Vidor and I think we will see improvement every week from them.
maybe he had a concussion and hooks is hiding him in the shed lol   :D
kicking help is on the way!   ;)
THANK  YOU  VENOM!!!! I surely hope you are serious... To say our kicking game is grotesque would be an understatement.
 9. Well, any new predictions after we have both scrimmaged Dayton? Both lost by the same point spread. Dayton starters played longer against Ned, but Dayton didn't play as well with the fumbles and dropped passes. They also had some receivers not play. WOS looked very bad against Dayton. Dropped passes, fumbles in redzone... Come on guys, this WOS vs Nederland! Where is all the smack?
 10.
im not complaining or crying!  I just said Hooks deserves them six!!   :)
I was referencing the East Chambers guys comments.
regardless of whether Hooks had his way over a call in a scrimmage or not, this is a stupid comment. i guess we should just forfeit all of our games since Hooks became head coach. they were only victories because Hooks intimidated the refs right?
What's up Cuz?
 13. There was never a threat for Vidor to pass so everyone knew it was a run every play. In all fairness, I left at half time so did not see much in the second half. But Vidor fumbled in their own red zone and it was returned for a TD. Probably should have been WOS 6--Vidor 0 at half time. On the other hand, WOS QB is very dangerous along with the big WR. I just feel that the stangs were to one dimensional to move the ball. A really good defense will put a spy man on the QB and put a halt to all those long scrambles. With that being said, he is one heck of an athlete with a good double threat, scramble/run and he has a good arm. That endzone pass in the corner to big boy is gonna be pretty tough to stop. I really think this WOS/NED game is gonna be a really good hard fought game. I cant wait.
thats the play i was talking about giving Hooks credit for the 6 points.  WOS picked up a fumble and ran it the length of the field.  The Line Judge on WOS side threw a flag for a OBVIOUS block in the back.  Immediately after the play was over Hooks had conversation with the LJ that threw the flag and the Umpire came over for a second and they talked with Hooks and then it was waved off and counted the TD.  About that time is when Matthews justifiably blew his top!! LOL   Hooks needs credit for them 6 points LOL ;D
WOS will survive in the playoffs until Hooks runs into an officiating crew he can't intimidate.
You know, I have heard plenty of crying about that with Dan over the years, and I have either seen or played in nearly every game WOS has played and most of that is BS and sour grapes most of the time. However, last night I think he may actually have intimidated those ref's into making that call. It was obvious, blatant and right in the middle of the field where everyone in attendence saw it, but they went and assessed the penalty on the kick off instead of calling the TD back. WOS more than likely would have scored later anyway because they just couldn't stop them, but I'm still scratching my head over how they called it. ::)

We were supposed to get beat down the last 3 years. But Dayton does not play well early in the year, so we decided to play Angleton. No fella - the schedules changed because of redistricting. If we were running from a fight, you think we would have scheduled Angleton?? They are better than Dayton this year I think.
Soooooooooo... FW has a sure win against WOS based on how we played in a first scrimmage against Dayton... but Angleton is better than Dayton after getting their teeth kicked in last week by a 3A West Columbia that went 3-7 or 2-8 last year... Hmmmmmm ??? ::) :-\
You clearly are not paying attention to my posts. Did I say anything about a sure win?? Did I draw any conclusions from your terrible showing vs Dayton? Do I think Angleton is not any good because they had a subpar showing in their first scrimmage. NO. What I did say is that Angleton is better than Dayton, and we are not running from Dayton. Can you get that? Yes I do think we will beat WOS, team that is supposed to have good speed, very little size and depth. We are a very athletic, strong, fast and disciplined team with good size and depth. Can you stay with me there Gasilla, I know I threw a lot at ya! PS - I had not ready anything about the Angleton vs West Columbia scrimmage, so I went looking. There is a big difference between these two descriptions -1.  Angleton did not play well during the controlled scrimmage where WC kept them from scoring much if any. WC did not score any. In the timed scrimmage - Angleton dominated. 2. Angelton got their teeth kicked in. What I interpreted from the sports reporters that were there, Angelton was very flat, WC was pumped and it was a draw. Once Angleton got fired up, they took it to them as expected. Do your homework Gasilla! PS by all accounts I have read Dayton dominated WOS and WOS dominated poor Vidor. So - using your logic WOS will win the state title!!
"Columbia held state-ranked Angleton to one TD and FG, while scoring 5 times against the Wildcats. Columbia scored on the first and last play from scrimmage and totaled 4 scores during the scripted portion of the scrimmage. In the 2-15 minute game clock portions of the scrimmage Angleton scored once and also kicked a field goal, while Columbia only managed a single TD." This is from another website and is the bare bones about that scrimmage. Yes that looks pretty much like they were handled pretty good by a 3A team that wasn't very good last year. As for all the other excuses you are posting about that scrimmage, I'm not gonna address because it is obviously full of homerism from some homer writer, if what you said is even true. I posted no excuses - just the facts - got that Gasilla. Show me where I tried to excuse Angletons performance. I know that is hard for you - but try to find some excuses. You did not say directly that you are bigger, stronger, as fast and more discipline, but if you mention those things, and feel pretty confident that you are going to win (which you have posted previously) then you must feel that you do have us beat in those areas, right? I've been around football for a long time and I know better than making predictions about a team that I know nothing about other than what I hear on message boards... You know, I used "arrogant", but there are actually a couple of words used to describe someone who is so sure of themselves in the face of an unfamiliar opponent that is usually a quality team. 23. FW fans think they are going to win because they are big and have executed well in the past, Panama is merely saying that WOS has a shot because we will be faster. What's the big deal??? Both sides have a reason why they think a team will be successful. I would imagine that WOS IS probably faster than FW and FW IS probably bigger than WOS. I don't know why ya'll are getting so excited about it. I never read where he said being faster guaranteed a win, but neither does being bigger and beating Dayton 47 years in a row... ;) I have not seen our speed compared to FW. I do know that when we played them in 2000 (which was a long time ago, I know) we were WAY faster than FW and their players even said so after the game. The game is going to come down, as always, to match ups. Period.
 24.
besides the fewer dropped passes are we sure WOS improved that much or just played a weaker team??
Vidor is definitely no Dayton no doubt, but WOS moved the ball at will on Vidor. They scored 43 points and had 2 turnovers inside the 10 yd line. They dominated the scrimmage and that's about all you can really ask for, isn't it? No one has claimed state title potential, but yes, there was definite improvement, like it or not.

Hmmmmmm ??? ::) :-\
