We just happen to have an exceptional group of boys that love to play football. Our boys had waited all year to play the mighty "WOS" to see where they stood and someone took that away from them. I know alot of boys on that team including my two boys, were pissed. Parents, including myself, were not happy about the whole deal. heck, I guess if you want to go by what your team did against another team, why dont we use Silsbee as the one to measure by. WOS beat Silsbee 22-0 but HJ 7th "A" beat the same team 28-0. And Orangefield was basically the same score when we played them and when you played'em.
I have spoken with one of your coaches and I do understand that it was the call of the sup. I also believe that you guys wanted to play, I am not one of those who feel that you didn't play because you were "scared". Like you, our kids wanted to play... bad! I didn't want there to be any doubt, either way... I feel like BOTH teams got robbed.
 2.
I have a son who plays on the 7th grade team. If I recall correctly HJ cancelled out on us because they THOUGHT is was going to rain. That day we didn't get a drop the entire day. I myself think it was pre-game jitters. Make sure that the HJ coaches keep their day jobs because they surely wouldn't make it as meteorologists!!! :D :D :D :D
Actually Nupe, it was the HJ Superintendent that made that call. Not the coaches. Just an FYI.
Wow I love the irony Pirates73.  Your signature says "its all about the kids" but you want WO-S to lose so that Hooks can hang his head low.
OMG... I noticed the same thing and was about to post exaclty what you did, then I read your post. Nice catch! I love busting hypocrisy!
 4.
Man whats gotten into the mustang fans? WOW we lose 2 games early in the season and all of a sudden were not even good enough to beat a team from a terrible district that we wal all over year after year! Yeah they might be a little bit better this year but i heard the same bs last year about their awesome running game and what happened? we hit them in the mouth and they rolled over and played dead! I was on the semi finals mustang team and im telling ya'll that this kinda team we have this year is the most dangerous! We dont have that go to guy for someone to stop! We have that go to team! Ya'll can say what ya'll want to but i know what we have this year and we are clicking on all cylinders and are ready for a LONG run!!!! Watch and see!!!
I'm with ya, bro. I want to believe too and, like I said, I think we may get there (or be there). If we go out and take this game like I am hoping we will, I will be convinced. ;)

The town before the Bridge into Atascocita is Huffman(Dated a girl in College from there ;D). There will be a sighn that says Hargrave Falcon stadium. You will take a right by a gas station if your going toward humble. ETBU can explain better, he lives there.
Thanks, kicker.I didn't think it would be to hard. What happened to the girl?
I was young and dumb. HAHA ;D
Don't act like that has changed... ;D
 6. td, let me know if this happens... when and where.
 7.
You WOS guys and gals get on here and start declaring yourselves as champions. Then there are the ones that get on here and start saying everyone is scared of WOS. My gripe is, how can you declare yourselve champions without playing everyone? How can you declare yourselves champions without a playoff, or a championship game? There are all sorts of variables that come into play when teams play each other. Thats why we play the game. If you had played us, maybe the first play your best player goes down and we capitalize? Maybe our best goes down and you beat us 150-0? Or maybe our defense works better against your offense than it did against HF. You just dont know.
In MS you do not have playoffs or a championship game, in fact, you don't have that at any sub varsity level. You compare records and the best record wins district. WOS had the best record 7th and 8th grade. If you don't want to recognize it then don't. If you don't get to play all of your schedule then you go by the best record just like you do in any other sport. I have been around football, baseball, softball (you name it) all of my life, as a player AND coach and I have never heard of an "incomplete season". And yes, we have had games canceled and not made up. If a game gets canceled, then it gets canceled. That doesn't mean there isn't a champion.
 8.
Ain't that the truth. They are all going to be tough Gas.No cake walk this year to start.
Don't get me wrong. I feel we have the talent to win. We just have to keep getting better like we have been. You never know how a team is going to react to the playoffs.
 9.
How old are you? Like 12?
Why? Because I stated the obvious? You made a statement and I replied to it. Is that all you have in return is to question my age? LOL
 10. This is going to be a tough one.
 11. He has been dying to play ever since he got hurt in the silsbee game and im sure he will have a huge game friday night!!!!
This is huge!  This guy was a one man wreckin crew against Silsbee!  He was in on almost every stop.....Not to take away from the rest of the chain gang
At times in the silsbee game, he looked like the only player we had that could tackle JJ.
 12.
7-0 is better, but your season was incomplete Podna! You didn't play the one team that had the potential to wax dat @$%!
LOL... WOS- 53 HF-0. A week later HF- 26 HJ- 6. Looks like we did play the one team that had that potential...
 13.
Yes da'jewel nelson is back and playing this week and will definately be a force on the coldspring qb! Man, with DeJewel back and with the younger players having the experience they have from having to play because of all of the injuries, our defensive front is going to be pretty stout! And deep!
 14.
i do belive wo-s has seen a few (GOOD TEAMS) this year.#1 nederland not to bad a start dont you think.#2 lc-m , lots os speed all the way around and a very good QB and wr. #3 jasper .very fast very big and one of the best teams in 3a.PS yes we lost lol.# 4. a VERY GOOD kirbyville team that gave wo-s fits all night (BIG TEAM with alot of team speed all the way around. #5 what can i say about silsbee that has not been already said thay are just flat out good silsbee has  a very large fast team and there QB is SUPER and yes we got beat lol.  out of the ten teams wo-s has faced this year five are in the playoff not to shabby dont you think
6 out of 10: 1. 15.
I get tired of hearing all the lame WOS fans.  They always think WOS is gonna win the state title.  Since they came back down to 3A they have not won anything.  I doubt they could get close to Carthage.  I'm a former Trojan and really believe the Trojans can get this one this year if they play good football and eliminate mistakes.  I sure hope they do anyway cause I'm tired of hearing WOS this and WOS that.  It really gets old on this discussion board.  I usually just watch.  This time I had to comment.  If you get past us good luck against Rockdale.  At least stop bad mouthing 22-3A we used to run this area in the 90's.
Yawn...  ::) Who is bad mouthing 22-3A? I must have missed that one.

Coldspring in the upset of the week.
I disagree with this. I don't think they are quite the team that Kirbyville is. They lost to Corrigan Camden by 15 who got beat bad by Newton. They also lost to Cleveland, who was beat by LCM. Now, I'm not using this to try and say we'll win. They very well may beat us, but they are not Kirbyville.
Their very close according to a Coach!
It's the coaches job to be cautious. I don't have to be. Again, what either team has done until now really doesn't matter, it's all gonna come down to how each team performs this week. Having said that, they run the same offense, but, as for them being as good as Kirbyville, I'm not buying it. They haven't played each other so all you can go on is how they have fared against common opponents. That way, Kirbyville is the better team, by far.
 17.
If Dubby is old, what are we, Gasilla?
Archaic!  :'( ;D
However, I have to go with the navy and silver uniforms.......much sharper! GO 'STANGS!
I agree.
 18.
Well we will have our star defensive end back for this game and im absolutely positive that he can keep their so called superstar qb contained! They dont know what speed is until they see us on that turf! And the way weve been running the ball the last few weeks they wont know what to do with all our speed! I stick to my prediction 35 to 14 stangs roll!!!!
What defensive end? Nelson?

 20.
all of the old people around me were dancing in the isles, or at least tapping their toes.
LOL... I have to tell Dubby he is now considered "old"... That's awesome!
 21. A few things... First, we have no business predicting a blowout against CS. Although I do not feel they have played nearly as tough a schedule, you can only play what's on your schedule. They will be formidable and if we do not continue to elevate our play, they are very capable of sending us packing. Second, there is no comparing this game to the game in 2004 with Huffman. We were an experienced team that year that just wasn't very talented. This year we are a young team that is extremely talented and are starting to play up to our potential. To completely different dynamics. Also, there may be SOME fans who think we have it in the bag, but most do not. Third, apparently someone has stopped Allen this year or at least slowed him down enough because CS only scored 12 points against Cleveland and 20 against 2A Corrigan Camden. I also feel that WOS will be the best defense that CS has seen. That is in no way guaranteeing a victory or anything like that, I'm just looking at the CS opponents. Bottom line, this game will come down to mistakes and turnovers. Whomever makes the fewest wins.
 22. AAW, how do you get this report?
 23.
im just gunna jump in and say coldspring by 20 wos doesn't have it this year...not like cs
It's not hard to "have it" when you have played the schedule that CS has. They have no wins against a team with a winning record and only one of the teams they have beat is going to the playoffs. That would make me a little concerned about whether I "have it" or I have a false sense of security.
 24.

Speaking of young, Silsbee will return 8 offensive and 7 defensive starters for next year. ;) On offense they lose QB, RB, and a WR. On defense they lose 2 DL and 2 LB.
I am not sure who is in line for the QB position, but that position alone is huge!!!!  Big shoes to fill.
Silsbee will have a good one to fill his shoes. Always do.
 25. I guess that is better than it could have been. I know that kid is hurting more about this than just in his kidneys. I saw him play against OF. He is one heck of a football player and probably the fastest kid I've ever seen in pads.
