I just went to the baseball thread and you made this exact comment on Saturday. You said you thought this was the year yall would win State and then you have the baseballs to come to a football thread and make this comment. You lost all credibility. I think this may be the year though
Dayum! Looks like Redbird and 33 are a walking contradiction! ::)
 3. My thoughts are that, it took some end of game heroics for BC to pull out the win against HJ. HJ still controls their own destiny. If they win out, they are in. They will come to Hooks stadium with winning on their mind. It may be closer than some may think.

 5.
Junior High games got cancelled FYI
Yeah they got canceled this past week, but we played them earlier in the season. Scores were 7th "B" 22-0 WOS, 7th "A" 56-0 WOS, 8th "B" 18-0 and 8th "A" 6-0.
 6.
If WOS's flag carrier stands in the middle of the field and waves to their crowd then why not the opposing team have their flag carrier meet the other flag carrier and stand back to back and wave the opposing teams flag to their crowd. No fighting just show the same school spirit. I think standing on the hash marks closest to your stands would be better weather both teams did it or just one, but if no fights break out between the flag carriers then just have both of them stand in the middle of the field and wave their flags all they want to.
And that is exactly what they did.
 7.
Grad, I think my Tigers could take either Cleveland or Huffman, so it doesn't matter. But, I see Huffman winning out, Liberty splitting their last two games, and Shepherd losing their only game left to Huffman, leaving Huffman taking the 3rd spot and advancing to the Div. I playoffs.
Just curious, but why is it that you "think" Huffman will win out? Liberty beat them and Shepherd beat Liberty pretty handily. Is there a method to your madness or just wishful thinking... LOL. ;D I bet you have now become a huge Huffman fan. ;) ;D

Just because we have dropped a couple of close games doesn't mean that we don't have a shot at the ultimate goal!!!
I meant no disrespect to the playoffs teams from 21 3a. Who ever they may be. Every year  the ultimate for football teams should be a state championship. I just think this year the goal is a little more lofty. Does not mean it won't happen. I would love nothing more than to see a southeast Texas team bring home the gold. Just my observation. Have not seen WOS yet or BC but did see Silsbee. While Silsbee was impressive, it was against Orangefield. Silsbee was like a pinball machine, they bounced off of would be Orangefield tacklers. While I do think Silsbee is smaller than in the past but they are quicker which is to their advantage. Johnson is an athlete and deserves the praise he gets. But a solid and discipline team will shut the spread down. Yes 21 3a is more competitive than years past. But is that a good thing are bad? It is good for the smaller schools because it gives them hope. Not sure what it means for the larger schools. This is a message board for opinions right? Well that is mine. Like it or not I really don't care. I don't pretend to be right all the time. Actually I hope I am wrong this time.
My post wasn't directed at you, Bleed. Just a little encouragement.
 9. Yes, Silsbee will be DI no matter what.

What's the deal with D1 and D2?
The largest team from each district to qualify for the playoffs go DI, the other 2 go DII. There is a DI champ and a DII champ. The two do not play each other.

 13. Looks like Ned may have an answer at QB. Good to see him getting right with the man upstairs. Good job and keep it up! What is Ned district record now? As crazy as that district is, they should still be in the hunt, huh?
 14. Stephen Cook is a senior.
 15. I thought their replacements played well. The Sophomore nose guard was blowing the BC center up all night. He is a good one. I also thought that Mitchell looked better running the ball this week. What's wrong with Lindsey? This was the second week he was dressed out, but didn't play. He looked like he was in pain walking around on the sideline.
Not this year. The rungs on the WO-S ladder are still solid for at least the next 5 years. Go 'Stangs!
You do know if yall happened to get by BC this year yall are gonna lose the next two years? You think Menard and Dishon are good now just wait till they're juniors and seniors... As for tonight WO-S 21 BC 27
Hmmmm... I'll have to disagree with you on that one. WOS will only be starting 2 seniors on each side of the ball. If they are going to get them, this would be the year.
 17. I think most people think it will be close.
 18.
HF executed on offense very well and played disciplined on defense not giving up any big breakaway runs.  Our only score was on a great kickoff return.  Congrats HF hopefully we will be better prepared next year.
I read on a post earlier in the year that the HJ 7th grade was 4-0. Do you know what the record is now and who their losses (other than HF) were to?

 21. We never played BC while in 5A. In fact, we never played BC when we weren't in the same classification.
 22. This whole thread is funny! You guys who aren't married yet can't really appreciate the Encyclopedia post, but you will. Believe me! LOL ...AND where is that switch that turns on in these boys when they hit 14 that takes them from eating kids meals to 2 large meals... Dang, you dads of young boys better get a second job if you have more than one. I can't keep my boys full... Then let them bring a couple of their buddies over!!! At any point during the day at least 2 of them are chewing!!! :o ::)

I've heard they have lost about 10 starters this year to injury or have quit the team. A 3A school cannot overcome losses like that, no matter who is coaching.
And let me add,  what message does it send out when you allow your kid to QUIT just because things aren't going good ??? ??? As mush as I dislike my kids playing football they know they can't quit the team. Ya gotta finish it out! ;)
Good post, I am in your corner on this one. Keep teaching your kids that lesson and they will make it in life. It is funny, kids quitting defines the current generation. When things get tough they check out. Not just sports, marriage, kids and responsibility. There is "NO" accountability these days. I am not talking about all kids. Because there are parents out there that are teaching the same lessons they learned from their parents ( Old School). But that number is shinking and shinking fast. Kids have learned how to manipulate the system. Why get married when a young women with child can get food, formula, diapers, dental work and medical assistant for free from the government.
"Children today are tyrants. They contradict their parents, gobble their food, and tyrannize their teachers." - Socrates (Ancient Greek philosopher, 469 BC - 399 BC) As you can see, adults have despised teenagers since 469 BC. I don't see that changing anytime soon.
LOL... Awesome!
