  1. WOS looked good, but you have to keep in perspective who we were playing. Hopefully, we will come out next week and look just as good against BC. I did not expoect their game with Silsbee to be so close. We cannot have any let downs from here on out. We must get rolling and keep the momentum. HF, you guys played hard. Hang in there, there is a silver lining in there somewhere. One thing about losing so many kids to injury and what not, your younger kids are getting valuable experience that will be key next year.
  2. I told Shug about it last year. You need me to do it, just say the word. I know the people to contact and everything...
  3. I wouldn't be surprised to see WOS do that....they like to run up the score.....They will then have a district title in mind after they beat the last place team.....IMO I wouldn't run up the score just "win" and get your young players some experience..... Make sure to clarify the difference between running up the score and one team not being able to stop the other. If the score shows at the end 60-6 or something like this, people don't need to run here and bash something they know no details of. As I've always said, I'm from HF, and I know that WOS will most likely win this game and I expect them to. I just don't want to hear people run over here start crying because "they ran up the score". If you shoot yourself in the foot and the other team capitalizes on your mistake, that's not running up the score, that's just good football. If a team is running iso and traps after getting up a certain amount of points and is still scoring on those base plays, that is not running up the score, that is saying they want the defense to stop them. Running up the score would be being up 50-0 and going five wide with all your starters in and throwing hail mary's and running reverses. If WOS gets up in a lopsided way, I don't look for the starters to stay in, and I look for all their guys to get playing time. If this is the case and HF just can't stop them, it's not running it up, it's football and it happens. So to HF, just go out there and play as hard as you can, and you never know what could happen on any given friday night. Good luck. That's probably about the best, non-homer, Un cry baby, football smart, posts I've seen in a long time. Kuddo's to you, sir.
  4. So how do you determine if the school should or shouldn't be involved? In this case the parents are very involved. Are you wanting the school to discipline over the parents? If not where do you draw the line. We can't have it both ways. You can't have the school determine if they are the only authority or not, or if the parent isn't making the right choice for the child. I have to say I disagree with what you are saying. The school is responsible for discipline at school and at school functions and or events not what happens at home or away from campus on the weekends. Now code of conduct policies I do understand. However, I also believe in the fact that the government already has too much power. Less is more. TD.....I'm 100% in agreement! The schools job ends when the school bell rings! If the parents are not involved, thats sad, but none of the schools business! Agreed
  5. speveto, you dawg!!! I knew it was someone on the WOS side because I bought 6 (by 5 get 6, I'm always a sucker for a bargain... ;D) of them and I missed it by 2!!! My last numbers were 56 and the winning last 2 numbers were 58. You must have walked in the gate right behind me!!
  6. This does not apply with respect to why the suspension was made.
  7. I don't think these scores should be posted I'm going to assume b your "smiley" that you are just kidding about that. There are several lopsided scores posted on this thread. Hornsfan86 will probably agree with me on this, but the 7th grade score doesn't really represent the way the game went. HF really fought hard and moved the ball on us. They threw the ball well, I thought. They just had a couple of picks for TD's that made the game look worse than it was, but they had a couple of drives deep in our territory where an INT saved us. I thought they were probably the best team we've seen yet. Sometimes games can just get away from you when you have a few turnovers and that's what happened. The same thing with the 8th grade. The defense scored twice in the first half. We had 22 points and had only ran 6 offensive plays, HF would move the ball downfield then turn it over. I thought both 7th and 8th grade teams for HF have potential. Just need to stop the turnovers.
  8. "B" team: WOS 7th- 8 HF 7th- 0 "A" Teams: WOS 7th- 53 HF- 0 WOS 8th- 54 HF- 12
  9. I hope this isn't true. I can't see us fully utilizing our skill guys if we are running out the I 70% of the time. On the other hand, I guess they are not being utilized if they can't catch the ball either... I don't think completely changing the offense is necessary, just time for some kids to step up.
  10. Not gonna happen.
  11. Yes, Vidor is happy. All the attention is off them now. ;D ;D ;D This thread makes me want to cut my wrist. Please someone end it. ;D ;D ;D Ain't hat the truth Bleed? Now.... where is my picture of the man beating the dead horse...
  12. Why the sarcasm? He didn't say anything about the offense being "unstoppable". Can't you guys just go on about your business? WOS02 I would like to know more about this offense. I will PM you, don't discuss anything on the board.
  13. That's good to hear, but some is not going to cut it...It's a team effort and the hard work should have been from the get go.I know some have been giving it their all but you can tell by the way this season is going they are not a team yet.I hope they can turn this around are we will be one and done in the playoffs. True
  14. Plus HF does not have a JV team. I am interested in seeing the Mouton kid at the varsity level. He has looked really good on the JV.
  15. I don't think that there will be any intent on running up the score on the HF kids. That being said, there are some glaring issues with our offense that need to be worked on in the running and passing games. Hopefully, these will be worked on in this game.
  16. So I take it that you are backing out of our bet on who advances in the playoffs deeper? Typical. : Just to save face for WOS I will keep skippers Coke bet. I will bet a Coke on just about anything. I don't even like Coke unless it comes in a blue can. ;D That's good of you TD, but I never wanted to bet just a coke. But it seems that's all that skip could afford. I was willing to put $100 or more on the bet. A soda bet is a waste of time but that's okay. I was thinking it was a waste of time myself. At this point I'm not willing to make that bet. I don't know enough about the playoffs and who would play whom. As I try to figure out more about the playoffs and see that we both make it ;D , we can discuss it before the playoffs begin. Fair enough, td, good points. I want to see what division Gilmer goes in too. ;D Shoot, at this point, I just hope we get in! :
  17. I agree that you were the better team that night. The bottom line is both our defenses played well. Your offense played much better than ours and we lost, just like it should be.
  18. LOL... what else would you consider it?
  19. Taking advantage of mistakes is a huge part of the game. Just like I mentioned. The WOS defense had a whole bunch to do with your mistakes in our territory, too. I never said anything to the contrary. You posted that you marched right down the field and scored with no help from us, that wasn't true. The penalty on the missed field goal was a HUGE turning point early in the game. Silsbee did what good teams do and made us pay for it.
  20. Well, if it bothers you so much maybe they should get the stuff out of the way.
  21. There was one TD for each team as a result of the other teams mistake. Silsbee scored the other TD on their opening drive no mistake needed. You may need to rethink that... Did you forget that Silsbee missed a 40 yd field goal on that drive? The ball should have gone over to us, but we roughed the holder. 15 yarder and first down and Johnson scored on the next play. Very un-discipline mistake on our part and Johnson made us pay.
  22. What about on the home sides endzone because the home side still has their cheerleaders and run through out in the way on your side where you can't do it where you normally would? Geez dude... find something else to whine about.
  23. Cheerleaders did? Lol I was exaggerating a little, LOL. But, there was a crowd of them out there.
  24. They are kids having fun. Can they not be kids? To be quite honest, this whole post appears to be sour grapes to me. Silsbee's players, cheerleaders, coaches, etc were doing that after our game and it did not bother me a bit. In fact, I thought it looked like fun.
  25. What statement? Last night was supposed to be their statement game. I am sure they will get a victory against HF Tiger, you guys got your win, you've got your little signature and you've had your fun. Are you going to continue to follow our posts and rub it in our face? I think it's time for you to unfocus on WOS.
