  1. You agree what coop, that there won't be anymore buses running in WOS. News Flashback to 2008 them Tigers beat WOS everywhere but the score board. ;D ;D ;D ;D Which is the only place it matters.
  2. Drop passes in the first half and Hipo had a bad second half with his accuracy. The line has done well with pass blocking and they did well that game, too. It's been run blocking where the lack of size has hurt.
  3. You know, I think the problem most WOS fans have with you Gilmer folks on this and other boards is that you say these things as if you've cornered the market in them. I got news for you, the WOS coaching staff has been together far longer than any 90's run at another school. The core of this group have been together since the school began in 77. They wrote the book on fundamental football, discipline and execution. You guys have been successful since, what, 2003? You are just babies to state prominence, we've been running with the "big dogs" for 30 years. We've been to the title game 4 times in 30 years and own the best winning percentage in ALL of Texas Highschool football... EVER... IN ANY CLASS. So... no you don't corner the market in discipline, coaching, experience or anything else... your Buckeyes are just going to have to go out and be better than WOS because that's the only way they can win. It will not be due to an intangible. Oh yeah, we have played Ennis so thank you for your prediction... we played them when we were still in 4A in the 2000 state finals... they won, but the score was 38-24. So much for us not being able to stay on the field with them.
  4. The Area Round game was last week genius....plus you misspelled "crowned" Uh oh... Grammar 5-0 is in the hizzle!
  5. Truth is....................... Youve already lost a game this year, your defense cant stop your JV at practice, and you were almost beat last weekend by a sub-par team!! I'm glad you decided to talk about sub-par teams. Sub-par - winning percentage that is below .500, right??? WO-S would know all about beating teams that are par or sub-par. Let me refresh your memory: 1. West Orange 33 Nederland 13 (Nederland finished season 4-4 in 4A) 2. W.O. 48 Little Cypress Mauriceville 7 (LCM finished season 0-8 in 4A) 3. W.O. 33 Brookshire Royal 7 (BR finished season 3-6) 4. W.O. 14 Silsbee 7 (Silsbee finished second in district at 4-4. The other 4 teams (Hamshire Fannet, Bridge City, Hardin-Jefferson, and Orangefield) (60-0, 66-7, 40-0, 67-0) all finished the season with records worse than 4-4. Impressive road to the playoffs. And no, Gilmer's one loss this year didn't come to a sub-par 4-A team. See you Saturday! Wasn't Silsbee's final record 6-4? Also, I thought that HJ ended it's season at 5-4. Someone correct me here.
  6. The run happy offense very well may be the way to beat Gilmer. From what happened last week, it sure appears that it is. However, if they come into the game and play to shut it down and are successful at it, we can't be afraid to try something else. If they are weak at defensing the run, they will have to get help to stop it. If they do that, it will leave them weak somewhere else and we can't be afraid to attack that weakness.
  7. Do you mean in the 3rd round? We've never played Gilmer.
  8. Well... I don't make it a habit of hammering on the play calling and do not wish to start a big OC witch hunt. But, when discussing this game, as big as it is, the playcalling has to be an issue, no matter who it is calling the plays. I don't agree with many things posted here about the playcalling usually, especially those bitching about the WR screen. I like it because it gets the ball in the hands of those who can make plays for you. However, we have a history of climbing into a shell in games this big and, hopefully, it doesn't happen in this game, but it has in the past. I think the play calling has been good, for the most part, the last few games. If that makes me an armchair QB, an internet expert or whatever else you want to call me then that's fine (I'm sorry that I don't just close my eyes when we have the ball). Everything has to be clicking on offense, defense and the play calling to win this game. Hopefully, it will be.
  9. WO-S 8th grade finished the season with 57 kids this year. Unheard of for WO-S. It is normally about 20-25. Hope a lot of those kids play in the 9th grade. I think that has quite a bit to do with the new coach over at the middle school. He's a home town guy and he cares about this program and it's success. I hear that he's a good one.
  10. We'll you can't really compare common opponents, but didn't Kilgore beat Gilmer 28-0?
  11. Gilmer will give up points, but trust me the will score more than 21 points. High scoring game ....maybe the last team with the ball determines who wins I know Gilmer is very good, but so is our defense and I do not think giving up more than 21 points to them is a given. They were shut out this year by Kilgore and I feel that if someone else can do that, we can, at least, keep them to 14 or less. We have to play, but I know it can be done.
  12. Robinson is the epitome of what a highschool player is all about. He proves that you don't have to be 6'3" and weigh 260 lbs to play defensive end. I wish we had 30 of him.
  13. WOW! Three studs and all players who need to have their hands on the ball at least 4-5 times a game. These guys are game breakers.
  14. I agree with you Griff and Gabe both. Griff, like you, I'm especially concerned with #2. It's this type of game where we have fallen short in the past in that department. Let's hope it doesn't happen Saturday. We can't go into a shell offensively hoping that we don't make a mistake. We need to go all out. Offensively, defensively and in the booth.
  15. I look at it this way... they were held to 14 points by Rockdale and Bellville, both good teams, but teams that give up more than 14 points per game for the season. If they can hold them to 14 I feel like our defense can at least match that. Caldwell is giving up more than 23 points per game. If we just have an average night offensively, we should still be able to put up 24 points. I could be completely wrong, but I truly feel that, if we come out and play Mustang football for 4 qtrs, we win this game. If you go back and look at Coldsprings stats, they were putting up some pretty gaudy offensive numbers as well to go along with about the same defensive numbers as Caldwell. Also, Caldwell does not have big old #9 and the overall team speed that CS has/had.
  16. The WOS football team and coaches will not overlook Caldwell, I assure you.
  17. WOS87, I sure hope you are correct. Guys, you must also remember that, when we scrimmaged Vidor, we did not have Stephen Cook or Jacory Roberts (both our starting defensive tackles). We have shown repeatedly, including against CS, that we are not soft in the middle. Even without those two, we still did not give up any points to Vidor until late in the 3rd period when we started getting tired (due to missing 2 lineman in the rotation and being early in the year). I think we will be OK in this one.
  18. Very good point and one I had not thought of. I'll be heading 105 to Conroe. Gunho, 610 is about 15 years to old of a route. These days, if you're going to take I-10 to go anywhere North of Houston, you need to take the Beltway North (or south if heading somewhere South) in Channelview. Unless you are going somewhere actually on the Loop, it is a dead route.
  19. In my opinion, Navasota's schedule is no where near what Silsbee has played. They have played the teams in their district and they think they are pretty good, but no one in that district has really played anyone except for a suspect Sealy team.
  20. Yes, you will need to take a right on I-45 from there instead of a left when going thru Conroe.
  21. A sure sign of a program that's still not there yet. Still talking smack about a game that happened (for you) 2 seasons ago... :
  22. I predict that Silsbee will finally come out and play to their potential against someone other than WOS and win 35-34 in OT.
  23. Congratulations Silsbee on a big win. It doesn't matter how you get to the next round as long as you get there. Now, play like you did against WOS against Navasota and take them down! That being said, I can't help but make a point here (I know, here we go)... Aggies, you know I have given Silsbee much props for the way they played against us. However, when any WOS fan mentions that we may not have played very well that game we quickly get a, "Why is it that you played bad? Maybe it's because we played good", by you or other Silsbee fans. Now, you are doing the same thing. You make it sound like it's because you played bad rather than Huffman playing well... can't have it both ways bro...
