WO-S and HJ JV GAME tonight at orange come see
Gasilla replied to skipper's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I dont think it will be. HJ JV has lost alot of people due to grades. But i think they'll find away to stay in it. HJ couchin staff has some tricks up their sleevs ??? Sooooo... Does this mean WOS COACHES SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR TRICK PLAYS!!!! LOL... Kids -
You need to also include the Cleveland strength of schedule... stats can be misleading. Especially in a short season.
-
What's funny is that teams always bring up the, "that's the only thing they are good at" topic on the eve of a game they are more than likely about to lose. Who cares if your the state elite in table tennis... football is king in Texas and 98% of all schools in Texas aspire to be at the top, including HJ. That argument is weak at best and retarded at worst.

If HJ can throw, they may have some offensive success. They will not be able to run with any consistency on the Stangs... outside or inside.

*WO-S vs. BC Updates*/WO-S WINS!!!
Gasilla replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Aren't big plays a part of the game? When did they become less important than a long drive. a touchdown is a touchdown. Big plays are definitely a part of the game. A big part when you have the speed we do. But I also understand, and share, the concern with not being able to sustain a drive. Eventually, you will meet up with a team that has the speed and discipline to eliminate the big play. It will come to a point when you need to make a play with the game on the line. You will need a good play call along with good blocking and execution. Do we have the offense, at this point, that can do that? -

Redleg... don't know how you knew, but yes, the turkey legs are back to benefit Project Graduation!!!! We will be selling them tonight on BOTH sides so bring a big appetite because these things are MONSTERS!!! One leg can easily feed two or three people! -
...back on topic... It appears that Cleveland is flying under the radar this year and look to be very tough.

WO-S vs. Bridge City Predictions?
Gasilla replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
A few points here: - I think everyone is a little unrealistic when it comes to their favorite teams. Who cares, the BC guys have a right to believe. I can't see them winning or keeping it close, but they definitely have the right to think they can. - Silsbee has been playing us tough for the last 3 years or so and I think that this is one of those games that they go into believing they are going to play well in, but not necessarily believing they will win. I do not think we had a "bad game" I think Silsbee played up to their potential. - I, too, want to know why Silsbee does not play anyone else as well as they play us. I saw Silsbee play twice this year before they played us and after watching them, would have sworn we would blow them out. Then they come in and look like a completely different team against us. If they could keep up that level of play and intensity, they could do some things. -
I can almost guarantee that WOS87 can get that.

*WO-S vs. HF Updates*/'STANGS ROLL!

I do not know the full story, but I've been told it was disciplinary. He is not injured. -
You have to have the right chemistry to run it. Vidor is more suited for the Wing-T. A team like WOS is taylor made for the spread... if run correctly. I said 15 years ago that the spread was going to change the face of football. What I can't believe is that article played NO ommage to the man who brought the Spread Offense to Texas. Art Briles was the first to run the offense at Stephenville back in the very early 90's. He took a program that was nothing more than a doormat and turned it into one of the top programs in Texas at any level. When he first started running this offense he made power houses look foolish. Programs well known for their defensive prowess like LaMarque. Some old timers don't like it, but it ain't going anywhere...

They are giving up an average of 28 points a game to teams who are a combined 9-7. I didn't say they were a bad team, but they aren't a good team either. They are so-so.

21-3A vs 22-3A . who will play in the 1st round? who advances?
Gasilla replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Actually, I think Huffman will finish 3rd, but they will be the Div. 1 rep and face Silsbee. Here are my predictions: Div. 1 Silsbee vs. Huffman winner: Silsbee Div. 2 WOS vs. Coldspring winner: WOS Hamshire-Fannett vs. Cleveland winner: Cleveland I agree with that. -
They are 3-2 with losses to Crockett and Diboll, both of whom are so, so teams. [Hidden Content]

WO-S 33 Brookshire 7 Final/Comments

I understand why you are allowed down on the sidelines. I don't understand why you are talking to the players during an ongoing game. I really don't see a big deal with this either. -
A Nederland expert on "what it takes" to get to a state championship... LMAO I'M KIDDING!!!!

Ned put a whipping on us. I think it was 38-13 or 38-20. Something like that. -
WOS vs Memorial 9th And JV Scores
Gasilla replied to stangchain's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
All that 3A, 5A stuff is just a bunch of hype. I sat on the Memorial side tonight and one of the Memorial fans told me that their JV was undefeated. The WOS Freshman and JV teams are just good... good athletes and good coaches. You only play 11 at a time, your best 11 against there best 11. If yours are better than theirs it doesn't matter if they have 50 left or you have 10. Only those 11 can play. I counted 70 kids on the Memorial sideline, WOS 22 and those 22 administered a freakin beatdown. -
I will call her today. This is a chance for all former Mustangs to step up to the plate. I will find a way to get it done but it will be easier and faster with help. I'm sure it won't be free. If you have an interest in helping my number is 882-1943 feel free to call me. We can't all give everything but we all can give something. Here is your opportunity Mustangs, either sit on the sidelines and pi$$ and moan about things or get involved and help fix the problems. You can also pm me. T, when you talk to the secretary, call me and let me know what we need to do. Now, the biggest problem I have with this is that, if insurance money was paid to repair the sign then it should have been spent to repair the sign. Not spent ANYWHERE else. Also, wasn't there like 1.5 million dollars of that bond for updating and REPAIRS TO THE STADIUM? I would think that the sign in the stadium would fall under that. Sure is a lot of fishy crap going on...

They don't have "one of", they have THE best winning percentage in the state. I think that WOS is at the top of this list no doubt. As for year in and year out success, no team in this area is even close. One losing season in their history. I totally agree. As for programs, the Stangs are at the top. Now if you are talking about traditions and support along with the on field success, then you have to go with PNG. Well, I guess that would depend on how much the support part of it is weighted. There is no doubt, PNG's support of their team is unmatched in this area and probably the state.
